Consumer Complaint: Discover card revolved my account with out prior warning. They claim I called in and have a recording where I agreed to provide personal information verification via email. I made two payments to discover in XXXX, if I was unwilling to work with discover I would not have made two payments in XXXX. I requested they reactivate my account and they refused. However they never produced in writing any request regardless of phone call to ensure that the information was not missed in an email. They claim two have sent two emails requesting personal verification via email with out sending a letter when the email process they say I agree to didnt work. I am not disputing the call or conversation I just dont remember it. People forget things this should not be a reason to revoke their account without true due diligence.

They had me make 3 payments, one on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX $ which they gave me a XXXX dollar credit with, XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX XXXX and another one XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX $ which i also received a XXXX dollar credit with. Making those three payments forced my account current which was reflected on XXXX XXXX when my balance had decrease down to XXXX, they also reported to the Credit bureaus that i was current on my balance and payments. Now comes XXXX the XXXX of XXXX i checked my balance, it was over the limit again and they reported to the bureaus saying i was over the limit on my card and late which is not true when i made the payments before the XXXX as the had me due to have my account current so it would not report me being late. I called discover spoke to multiple representatives on the XXXX of XXXX, XXXX of XXXX, and XXXX of XXXX XXXX all told me that they could see i made the payments and were not sure why my balance was reflecting over the limit and that i am indeed current but i would have to wait until the beginning of XXXX so they can report me as being current and on time. I had than spoke to XXXX a supervisor at Discover on XX/XX/XXXX who told me my account had been closed and that yes it was a technical error on their side. She said she would send my account up for investigation to get it reopened but she could not promise that they will do so, which i didn't understand if it was a error on Discovers side and not mine they have reported more than once in the month of XXXX on my credit report and its all inaccurate.

Consumer Complaint: I began a repayment plan with Discover Financial in 2022 to pay off the balance of my credit card instead of accepting a settlement which would have closed my account. I understood that the card would continue to have no available credit until a point where the account was re-evaluated. I've been in the process of improving my credit and paying off creditors starting with the least amount owed. Since then, I've paid off a car, paid off one credit card in full to re-establish a line of credit and made an agreement to pay another off 2 months from now. Once this was paid off, I would pay at least {$500.00} a month to Discover instead of the {$250.00} ( twice the minimum agreed upon ) I've paid on time since the agreement. I've been informed now that despite not missing any payments since beginning this payment plan, that my account is closed. This is a breach of contract. I was never advised that in order to maintain an " open '' account I could not use, that they would create some arbitrary deadline to repay the entire balance. When you discuss repayment plans, make them put it in writing. Get transcripts of calls. Record them and advise them they're being recorded if it's legal in your State. And if you're considering Discover, I'd advise not to at all. I thought they would honor their obligations according to the positive feedback they used to have. XXXX gives them a XXXX rating ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). Something must've changed. They're covering potential losses in the event of a recession, so they're closing accounts to reduce risk. How is " no credit available '' a risk to them?
