Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I made several purchases from XXXX last XXXX using my Discover Card. I then returned several items to XXXX. XXXX closed my account. I had more things to return before my account was closed. Several of the items I sent back to XXXX while my account was open. I provided delivery confirmation to Discover confirming the returns were received by XXXX. Discover refused the refunds I disputed and they found in XXXX favor even after providing proof of delivery. In addition to the above, I had several item I still wanted to return to XXXX which they refused after closing my account. Part of the purchase contract I had as an XXXX XXXX member was the ability to return things for free. XXXX violated that contract and Discover found in XXXX favor again. After Discover closed their investigation I notified them in writing in XXXX of this year that the charges that remained in my account were fraudulent for the reasons listed above. They still reported the delinquent account to my credit recording agencies and did not include information stating I was still disputing the charges. Discover falsely reported a delinquent account to the credit reporting agencies. Also, Discover made discourse denial decisions based on XXXX policies which is not impartial to me as the customer.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: I did a balance transfer with Discover card with 4.99 % interest that was for 18 months. After about 12 months I paid off about {$3000.00} of my balance they sent me an offer for 0 % balance transfer with a fee, which I used. Now they are taking my monthly minimum payment and applying it to the 0 % balance instead of the 4.99 % one. I called and spoke to a supervisor. He was condescending. He said that Discover Card 's policy is the minimum payment pays down the portion of the balance that has the lowest interest rate first. If I want to pay more than the minimum payment it goes to the higher interest rate. He said this was in line with FDIC regulation. This seems like a scam to the consumer. The policy should be that the minimum payment pays off the higher interest rate balance first! The government should fix this! I have been sooooo loyal to Discover Card. It was the first credit card I had. I have had my Discover card for almost 40 years! I cancelled my card. I am done with Discover Card. This company is running scams. I XXXX DISCOVER CARD!!! Don't use them!!!

The previous account never carried a negative history and I'm not understanding what the previous account being closed for the reasons above have to do with me applying for a new credit card especially given the fact that my credit profile has changed from XXXX of XXXX until now, I never was in collections with Discover and the card had a XXXX balance. When I called XXXX at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and left a message for her to explain the reasoning, I never got a response back from her office.
