Consumer Complaint: A car loan was taken out in my name in XXXX California. I live in XXXX California, am a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Veteran, and do not drive. On XXXX XXXX, 2024, I received a bill stating that I owed XXXX for a XXXX. I called the company and was told they had my current ID picture, social security number, and signature. They also told me they had talked to me on the phone, stating that I had signed up for the car. This is untrue. I never signed up for a car, nor did I buy a car, nor did I give my information to anyone to purchase a vehicle. This is identity theft and a crime. I have reported to local police in XXXX California, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and the Federal Trade Commission. The company 's representative told me I may have forgotten they talked to me. This is untrue because the company called me at my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and two assistants heard my conversation with the company 's representative. Unethical used car dealerships are using identity theft tactics to sell cars, and credit companies are aiding the car dealerships for financial gain. The thieves and salesperson collaborated with the contract and falsified my identity. Now the credit company is avoiding giving me any falsified contracted documents signed.
