Consumer Complaint: I became a victim of scammers when transferring cryptocurrency through Coinbase. I lost all my funds and also borrowed funds for a total of {$100000.00}. I am attaching a letter to this complaint describing the situation in which I found myself. This letter also contains my transfer transactions. I tried to solve this problem through Coinbase, but at first I filled out the complaint incorrectly, then when I tried to send the complaint again, there were technical problems with my email linked to my Coinbase account and my account was blocked. All my further attempts to contact the support service ended with the answer that the case had already been reviewed and closed. In fact, I did not have the opportunity to send all the materials I had on this case to Coinbase.

Consumer Complaint: Around XXXX of XXXX, I was phished for a phone code from who I thought was a XXXX contact. Family in Texas was contacted by scammers multiple times and asked for money. They verified with me that it was not me. My XXXX page was locked down when someone other than me tried to change the password. I attempted on several occasions to unlock it and sent in all the requested information and materials, but was unable to contact anyone or unlock my account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from a loan agency asking me if I wanted to consolidate my credit card debt and my mortgage together. I knew I must be the victim of Identity Theft because I do not use credit cards. I spent the next 2 days going through all my logins, financials, apps, and whatever else on the to do list and discovered that my social security number was incorrect with the credit agencies, I had numerous aliases and multiple fraudulent addresses listed in my files. I only used my Coinbase account for a short time to learn about crypto, but soon realized it was complicated and technical. I left the account idle for a long time, and noticed it had a balance that was not mine when I began my investigation. I worked with Coinbase Support to secure my email, secure the account, and then close it down. I filed a Police report on XX/XX/XXXX with my local sheriff 's office and sent it to my credit agency which has now corrected all the disputes with my personal information. The only company left to correspond with me is Coinbase. It has been extremely difficult to work with Coinbase, and speak with an actual representative so that this matter can be resolved. I have given Coinbase Support my complete personal information including emails, and cell phone numbers. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I have had no correspondence with Coinbase in any capacity since my letter was sent.

Consumer Complaint: Coinbase has placed a buying and selling hold on my account and my digital assets claiming they are waiting for a payment, even though I have digital assets that have been purchased with settled and cleared funds. Coinbase support says that I will still be able to transact with my account while my last ACH payment is on hold, however I am unable to buy, sell, withdraw or transfer any of my assets. Coinbase also says I have {$1800.00} in cash/digital assets available that I can buy, sell, or trade. However, the user agreement is misleading and contradictory and Coinbase has locked my assets even though my bank has confirmed my ACH transaction was successful as of XX/XX/24, and Coinbase has the transaction marked as complete in their system as of XX/XX/24, images provided with the files. Coinbases policy says that buy and sell services will be restricted if there is a violation of the user agreement, which in my case has not occurred. I have reached out to customer support to try to resolve this issue however they are unable to assist. Coinbase Complaint Case Number : XXXX : Customer Support Case Numbers : XXXX and XXXX

Consumer Complaint: My account on Coinbase is restricted due to a need to verify my identity. The problem lies in that Ive changed my name since opening the account. I tried updating my account to reflect my new name using various procedures that were provided to me by the service reps to no avail. Ultimately, requests for a manager have been ignored as managers who are supposed to call me have not in over two weeks ( I was told 1-2 business days ). Im asking to speak to a manager because none of the agents Ive spoken to seem to understand the issue and keep asking me to upload an ID reflecting my previous name - I dont have those anymore. Anyway, I verified my previous identity with this company when I first opened up the account. Im missing out on at least a few hundred dollars because they havent resolved my issue and the value of my account continues to decline. Ive been legitimately trying to resolve this concern for almost two years now and just keep giving up because their customer support is so difficult to work with.

Consumer Complaint: Basically I have been using Coinbase since 2017 and have been a regular, rule-abiding customer. 3 months ago they locked my account and froze all my funds saying they were doing a quick review. 3 months later, still absolutely no word or timeline. Just terribly distressing

Consumer Complaint: ( The exact dates are little loose because it was a few months ago and Coinbase did not document much of it in emails to me as they usually do for something reason. ) On XX/XX/23 I made a large Bitcoin purchase through Coinbase. Coinbase allowed this charge through and took a {$270.00} fee. It was during a lot of price action with the asset. It was clear that there may be up to a 3 day hold on the funds, but may even be available before that. When I tried to access my funds I was told that it was still subject to review for up to a week. After the week I still could not access my funds. I purchased them with the explicit intent to trade the funds during all of the ample price action. After finding I still did not have access to the coins I contacted Coinbase again and inquired. I was then told that they were subject to an extraordinary hold for review and that there's nothing else they could tell me about it. The funds would be available in 3 weeks. Upon contacting customer service again and kindly exhausting any options I could possibly have with the representative, I was placed on hold and then told that they " reviewed your account and determined that you are not eligible to use the Coinbase platform '' they could not give me any information as to why. Worst yet I was ONLY allowed to sell the coins through the platform and transfer the money off, I could not just move the coins and move on from the platform. The price had fallen 15 % in that time and I was forced to sell at a loss. Not only was I forced to sell at a loss for no explanation, but they charged me ~ {$300.00} both on the purchase and on the sale. I had absolutely no reason to expect there would be any issue making this purchase as I had been a happy, faithful customer for 12 years. Now they caused me to lose over {$1000.00} in losses on the asset, ~ {$1000.00} in the loan I took out to take advantage of the opportunity in the first place which turned into an absolute loss instead, and then on top of that they charged me {$800.00} in fees for the service. At the VERY LEAST they should absolutely be required to refund me the transaction fees which they did not honor in any way. They charged {$400.00} to sell me coins they chose to not let me use, then FORCED me to sell it through their service as my only option for another {$400.00} with no explanation whatsoever after no contentions with the company for over a decade. All in all it came to roughly {$3000.00} for things completely out of my hands, entirely at their discretion, where they will disclose nothing about what happened and got to just force this on me behind closed doors. Let alone the opportunity cost of getting the asset at such an opportune time and being able to trade it as planned.

Consumer Complaint: I downloaded coinbase app from the XXXX XXXX. I followed all instructions. I lost all my saving over {$130000.00} From XXXX XXXX XXXX through XXXX XXXX XXXX I had over 100 unsuccessful conversions emails. When that happened I had to corresponded to coinbase customer support to be able to convert my crypto. I never had the problems resolved during those months. I felt like I was manipulated. In many occasions I corresponded to the customer support, but they said its because of price changes. I also had other issues with the coinbase platform. Couple times I was trying to convert my cryptocurrencies I had internet issues for no reason, also it happened few times when the platform performed weird it freezes ( bug ). I corresponded with different online lawyers but none took the case instead I sent a bunch of information like screenshots and emails. I got scammed by sending money online to a paralegal who assured me of the results. I need to be guided to the right direction. I just cant deal with the wrong people anymore.
