Consumer Complaint: You have violated my consumer rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) 15USC 1692 ( g ) - Failure to validate this alleged debt. Please cease and desist all collection activities until you can properly validate this alleged debt. I have not done or agreed to do any business with Credence nor have I signed any contract with their company. I also have not given any credit bureau authorization to report this item therefore no permissible purpose exists. 15 USC 1692c ( c ) Ceasing communication If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt. If proper validation of this alleged debt is not provided within 30 calendar days of receiving this notice, I will assume this alleged debt to be invalid and you shall delete this account and stop all collection activities regarding this account. Furthermore, you do not have any jurisdiction or authority to even collect on this alleged debt. By the way, if you ever decide to turn this alleged debt over to an attorney to collect and violate my rights under the FDCPA 15USC 1692 even further, just keep in mind that an attorney can not be a debt collector and a debt collector can not be an attorney. The Congress makes the following findings : The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. ( 4 ) There is a need to ensure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. ( b ) Reasonable procedures It is the purpose of this subchapter to require that consumer reporting agencies adopt reasonable procedures for meeting the needs of commerce for consumer credit, personnel, insurance, and other information in a manner which is fair and equitable to the consumer, with regard to the confidentiality, accuracy, relevancy, and proper utilization of such information in accordance with the requirements of this subchapter. Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I have recently discovered that there is unauthorized information in my name being used on my credit reports and would like to file a dispute. This information is unauthorized and I did not approve it to reflect on my credit reports. I believe I may be a victim of identity theft. I have a security lock on my credit report and I was not alerted to this information being authorized on my reports and I am insisting that they be deleted from my credit report as soon as possible. These items are fraudulent and impacting my relationships with creditors. I have reported the theft of my identity to the Federal Trade Commission, please review the enclosed copies of the Federal Trade Commissions Identity Theft Affidavit in regard to this incident. In addition, I have attached a PDF document reflecting all items that were found to be unauthorized by any such. Please investigate these matters and remove the disputed items as soon as possible.

They said that XXXX charged it off back in XXXX of XXXX and they received the account in XXXX to send me a letter in XXXX to an address I haven't lived at in 4-5 years. I contacted them today XX/XX/XXXX to dispute it with them because my number was ported out with XXXX and in order to port out the account balance must XXXX, and also the fact that I was not contacted about anything owed in all this time.
