Consumer Complaint: I filed a dispute with all three credit bureaus against Jefferson Capital and the results came back as accurate. Its impossible! The collection was for a cell phone company that we dont have here in Colorado XXXX They claim it was opened XX/XX/2022 but I lived in Colorado and was on my husbands phone plan and then we switched to XXXX. I can prove that. I think I am a victim of fraud bc prior to that I was on my daughters phone plan. Its been 6 plus years since I moved to Colorado. I need help because according to the fair credit reporting act, the company needs to provide certain information which they did not do. Please help me! I have worked really hard on my credit and after all these years this is ridiculous. I have never received anything in the mail regarding the collection and have zero prior knowledge of this. I know that they have to provide the original contract, account number, date and proof that I own the account and none of that is on my credit reports!!

Consumer Complaint: Today, a man showed up at my door. I answered the door, and he asks for XXXX XXXX. I told him that hes not here. Then, he begins asking me a serious of questions like : Does he live here? How long have you been here? Where is he?. I felt extremely uncomfortable with that line of questioning considering this is a complete stranger asking me questions about someones whereabouts and he didnt even acknowledge who he was. In addition, I suddenly felt more like he was trying to verify if I was alone. So my replies were No. I then asked him why the line of questioning and who he was, he proceeded to say he was a process server with papers for XXXX XXXX from the XXXX XXXX XXXX Courts. I didnt believe him, and told him to leave. I saw papers in his hand, and they didnt look anything like what could be considered court documents. I watched him leave from the window. Not even a few minutes later, he returned, and knocked again. Im not even sure why I opened the door again, but I did. As soon as I did, he asks XXXX XXXX, right? I told him that he was told to leave, and now hes shown up with a different name. He yelled this time over me, I yelled at him to ( please pardon my language ) Get the XXXX off of my property and dont come back here. Even after I slammed the door, he continued to yell at the door. I tried getting a license plate, model and make of his vehicle, but I couldnt see the back or front of his car. He eventually left, but I heard my storm door open and close before he did. I opened my door and found papers. The front page had information about debt collection, and after flipping through a few of the other pages, theyre blank and certainly nothing filed with the courts here. I was instructed to call the police if he returned. If this is some abrasive tactic of collecting some debt, aggressively approaching someones home especially with children present is extremely inappropriate and is harassment. Thinking clearly now, I shouldnt have opened the door a second time, but obviously, I do not want anyone else at my door.

Consumer Complaint: I have no idea who these people are. I got a notification on XX/XX/XXXX from my XXXX app stating that I had a new collection from Jefferson Capital for a XXXX XXXX bill for {$200.00}. I have never received any previous notification from this company. I work hard to keep all my contact information up to date on my credit reports, which show my current phone number and address, yet these people have not notified me in writing or validated that this is my debt. I have had XXXX for over 5 years so I have no idea what they are referring to. It is so disgusting that these collection agencies just get to do what they want and ruin people 's credit. I sent them a certified letter that arrived last Thursday XX/XX/XXXX, and yet here they are today adding this garbage to my XXXX report despite me stating in the letter I was disputing this and to tell the 3 bureaus that.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, This letter is a formal complaint that you are reporting inaccurate and incomplete credit information. I am distressed that you have included the information below in my credit profile and that you have failed to maintain reasonable procedures in your operations to assure maximum possible accuracy in the credit reports you publish. Credit reporting laws ensure that bureaus report only 100 % accurate credit information. Every step must be taken to assure the information reported is completely accurate and correct. The following information therefore needs to be re-investigated. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify, through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract, any and all accounts that you post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. I have asked for a validation letter to verify the debt after I gave them my address. I have not received a letter and [ JEFFERSON CAPITAL XXXX ] hit my credit again, reporting a new debt for a second time. I'm pretty sure the tactics [ JEFFERSON CAPITAL XXXX ] has used is in clear violation of CFPBs Debt Collection Rule under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) which became effective on XX/XX/2021.

Consumer Complaint: I was a victim of idenity theft I look at my credit report and see things I never applied for or have no knowledge of. these false allegations is becoming stressful because its reporting negatively on my credit report cause me unwanted stress. I would like for these false reports be deleted as soon as possible. I never did any businees or agreed to do anything with XXXX XXXX XXXX so I don't know how they got any of my personal information. I see they got it from a company called affirm in which this company already has my identity theft report that was sent to them back in XXXX or XXXX so I don't understand how XXXX XXXX XXXX got my information and how they reported it illegally to the credit bureau 's which is misleading correspondence debt collectors arent allowed to give false information about you to anyone including a credit reporting agency!! I want you to cease and desist all comunnication with me immediately and to stop reporting false information to the credit bureaus within 7 days of this letter.
