Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016 A credit collection Agency by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX placed a fraudulent account onto my credit report for the amount of {$1900.00} with XXXX XXXX, which is not mine. I 've disputed this account numerous times with XXXX and XXXX. I 've done my research on the company and I 'm not the only victim. This caused my credit score to drop dramatically. I 've contacted the company only to be placed on hold and never returned to.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX has been reporting a {$2000.00} collection account on my credit report. I have never had any business with XXXX XXXX. I realize this is a debt collection company. As such, numerous times I have requested validation of this debt. I have been told that they are not required to provide debt validation, which I know to be a lie. I have disputed this transaction several times on my credit report through XXXX. It was removed once and then the company reported it again. XXXX has not been helpful in having this item removed from my credit. I have sent them verification of a certified letter I sent XXXX XXXX requesting validation of the debt, or to have it removed from my report. Yet I 've received no response from XXXX XXXX. I do n't even know which company this alleged debt originated with. I believe at this time that this should be removed from my credit report as they have frequently broken the rules of FDCPA by refusing to send me any verification that this debt is valid and that they own this debt. I have no direct contract with XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX purchased my account from XXXX on XXXX XXXX 2017 and did n't contact me once and then XXXX XXXX 2017 I received a notification from my credit report that my score had fallen due to a debt collector. I had never heard from them nor received any warnings. XXXX XXXX XXXX showed up on my credit report one day without any notification. I called in to see what the problem was and was told that they had not attempted to contact me due to an address error? So instead of looking into this, they notified the credit bureaus with a negative file. I attempted to contact them multiple times and without fail the women on the phone told me there was nothing I could do and that even if the amount was disputed, they still would n't contact the credit bureau to notify them of wrongdoing on their part. I 'm aware that there needs to be a notification of at least 30 days before this happens, which I never received a single one. The folks on the phone were incredibly rude and refused to help me with the incorrect negative marks on my credit file. I have also read that they practice debt collection in states that they are not licensed in.

Consumer Complaint: In 2014 my debit card with XXXX was compromised and the issue was corrected. There is a letter from the company, case with Illinois Attorney General, and affidavit. This matter was resolved years ago and I owe nothing. This was theft and a debit card. This company almost three years later is reporting false information to XXXX and XXXX. They have been falsely reporting a closed matter on my credit report for two months. I was never given proper notice that this debt was being reported until I checked my credit report today

Consumer Complaint: A new debt popped up on my credit report listed for XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX for {$140.00}, an electric bill from the state of Michigan. It was listed as the debt collector being XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX on XXXX to get a copy of the original bill but it was from XXXX and they did n't have record of it once it was sold to XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, I was told to contact them. I called XXXX XXXX on XXXX and was referred to XXXX XXXX XXXX at ( XXXX ) XXXX, apparently they were handling the collection for XXXX XXXX. I contacted total card inc on XXXX and told them I have never received anything from them about the debt. I also informed them that they placed the debt as being from XXXX XXXX when I have n't lived in Michigan in at least 5 years. The representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that she would not send me the original bill, she would only send me their company invoice which would just state how much I owe them, not the original debt date. I told her I had contacted XXXX and that the original debt date was XXXX, charged of XXXX XXXX. The representative from total card inc then told me that they would put the correct dates of the debt on my credit report only if I paid them the {$140.00}. To my knowledge I thought this was illegal. The representative told me I could email XXXXXXXXXXXX for a validation of the debt but since XXXX XXXX XXXX bought the debt there 's no guarantee I 'll receive the original bill and to just pay it so it reflects correctly. I want the correct dates of this debt and I believe I am owed the original bill with the correct dates of the debt.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX, 2017 XXXX XXXX XXXX called my phone attempting to collect a debt. I told them I was unsure this debt was mine, and I asked for a letter of validation. The representative on the phone would not send a validation letter, but said he would settle the debt for 50 % of the price and send a letter in the mail stating that the debt was paid. I am reporting this company for refusing to send validation. I was on the phone for 5 minuets and 10 seconds, which is more than enough time to tell me they would send a validation letter.
