Consumer Complaint: Hello I am doing this complaint because I have old accounts and collections and the companies are constantly illegally reaging the accounts I've had no contact with them directly and no reason for them to keep free aging the accounts on top of that they are constantly reporting late payment history on the accounts further damaging my credit history I am legally XXXX I don't make much money and these accounts are severely hurting my opportunities to be able to rent or purchase a decent home for my child to have a happy life if you guys can please help me with this it will be greatly appreciated because he's collection companies now and days don't care how badly they ruin your life I was a victim of identity theft and that hurt me quite a bit as far as my credit history goes and it's been very difficult to fix the problem on my own because I do not have funds to pay somebody for credit repair

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I sent XXXX XXXX XXXX a debt validation request asking for complete documentation to verify that I owed the alleged debt and had a legal obligation to pay. Their response was a few pages of billing statements that contained no identifying information. My name, address, phone number, banking information, etc. was not listed on any of the documents. Furthermore, they failed to provide me with the agreement with the creditor that they are authorized to collect the alleged debt, the agreement bearing my signature stating that I have agreed to assume the debt, valid copies of the debt agreement, proof that the Statute of Limitations has not expired, proof that they are authorized to collect the alleged debt in my state, along with license numbers and Registered Agent. These are all things I am entitled to in conformance with my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I provided XXXX XXXX XXXX 30 days from receipt of the debt validation request to provide me with the requested information. The validation request very clearly states that non-compliance with my request would be construed as an absolute waiver of all claims to enforce the alleged debt against me and all instances related to this account must be immediately deleted and completely removed from my credit file. The original creditor in this matter is XXXX, which apparently is a phone company. I've provided documents from my phone provider, XXXX, with whom I've been a customer for several years.

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX attempted to collect a fraudulent debt ( including several other collection agencies ) reported by XXXX XXXX Bank to the major creditor reporting agencies in the amount of {$660.00}. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act., the collection of said debt on XX/XX/XXXX has been disputed and validation of the debt was requested. Although the debt was removed from my credit file after the seven year derogatory reporting period in XXXX ( adversely affecting my credit file ), the fraudulent account remained in collections for an extended two year period. The original creditor has refused to negotiate a settlement and all collections agencies involved have yet to verify the debt of record.
