Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft and I have submitted a notarized affidavit which serves as a legal document to my identity theft. I am also a victim of the XXXX breach and opted out of the settlement because I have suffered extreme losses due to the breach and the identity theft. I need the fraud accounts that are in my letter that is attached removed permanently from my file as I have also contacted the creditors as well. This is extreme in violation of my fair credit reporting act rights and I will seek legal recourse. I have also attached the printout of me being affected by the XXXX breach as well.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I called Jefferson Capital because they were calling my personal cellphone repeatedly and I did not know who they were at first. When I found out and called them they asked me if my phone number is ( XXXX ) XXXX and I said " no that is my work number and you guys are not allowed to call that number. '' I then gave them my personal cellphone number and told them that is the only number they are allowed to contact me at. Today, XX/XX/2021 they called my work office and spoke with my boss. They told her they are a debt collector and are trying to collect a debt from me and needed to get ahold of me and that the work number was the one they had. This was not true and I told them specifically they were not to call me at work prior to this. I called them back on my personal cellphone after my boss told me this happened and I told them that is not a number for them to call me at as it is my work and I told them before they were not allowed to call it. They said " we will note the account '' but then proceeded to call shortly after I had ended that call with them.

Consumer Complaint: I transferred my family over from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX was offering a deal at the time if we started new service with them they would pay off the current phones cost to XXXX up to {$650.00} PER PHONE, so then our phones would be paid off to trade in for new phones with XXXX XXXX XXXX. It is an offer they had available for OVER a year. We only owed around {$400.00} each for two phones. We received the correct amount in a XXXX XXXX XXXX gift card to pay off ONE phone, the other we did not receive anything. After being in there for HOURS setting things up, when signing up we were assured that we would receive 2 gift cards in the mail to pay of each phone from XXXX. We qualified for the phones to be paid in full since it was under the {$650.00} promotion and for any cancellation fees and such to be covered to transfer over with the purchase/installment of a new phone and taxes paid, as well as trade in the phone I had with XXXX to purchase a new phone ( installment ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX WHICH I DID, and submission of last bill from XXXX showing early termination fees and such- WHICH I DID. I followed all the rules like I was supposed to per the promotion and what the XXXX XXXX XXXX representatives and emails told me to do. I stopped into the store XXXX XXXX XXXX store where we did the transfer from XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX and was told the representative we had no longer worked there. ( conveniently the representative that was helping us for hours to get everything fixed and resolved no longer worked there. Mind you there were system glitches the entire time we were there, however reassured multiple times by the Rep everything went through and was done correctly. A younger lady to be exact. ) We received the email saying the reward visas were sent to cover phone costs but one received ONE, and when I called the reward company MULTIPLE TIMES to figure out what happened to the other I got the runaround and then told there was no record of the 2nd reward even though I had proof. I called REPEATEDLY for MONTHS, spent HOURS on the phone calling to check up, called all the way up the chair to the Vice President of the company only to find out they were NOT willing to pay off the phone and were unwilling to do the right thing by the customer. ( Mind you, my family has been customers of XXXX XXXX XXXX for over 13 years!! Since XXXX XXXX XXXX was Singular!! ) at the time I finally spoke to the Vice President of the company, with PLENTY of extremely rude representatives in between. XXXX isn't the issue here- XXXX XXXX XXXX is. Because XXXX DID NOT receive the cost left the second phone the phone amount went to collections for {$820.00} and the VICE PRESIDENT XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX said the best the can do is pay half of the phone cost- when initially only around {$400.00} was owed and was supposed to be completely paid off. They were VERY unprofessional, very careless and did not treat me with any sort of respect- I guess since I am a woman I dont get treated with respect and care. This collection has now been on my credit UNRESOLVED for over 5 years, and has been repurchased multiple times by the collection agencys so it continues to sit on my credit- RUINING my credit. I have tried disputing MULTIPLE times over the years. Nothing has been done other than it continues to sit on my credit ruining me with no disregard. As soon as the collection is about to fall off, it is repurchased. XXXX XXXX XXXX never denied offering the promotion, however danced around it saying they cant pull anything up about it. I asked them to pull phone records of every conversation in the beginning pertaining to this situation confirming we were supposed to receive the amounts to cover and they refused saying they cant. I have tried EVERYTHING I possibly can to get this resolved, showing proof from online MANY others had the same thing happen to them. This is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, and that is coming from someone who has worked in customer service for 15+ years! I NEED this resolved, it has ruined my family the opportunity to be able to own a home, purchase a much needed vehicle and many other things that have needed to use credit. This is a HUGE scam that needs to be resolved immediately. I tried approaching a lawyer after I spoke with the Vice President to see what could be done, gave them all the evidence I had, but was told I probably wouldnt win because it was my word against theirs, and everything I had given the lawyer to look over had been misplaced and never recovered other than the two emails I have showing the rewards were sent! The account is under my father as the why it shows his name on the account. He is the main account holder. They even put my number in wrong for the reward and never fixed that either, they told me that didnt make a difference. Obviously it did make a difference. The files attached is all I have left of proof. I did try to contact XXXX to let them know what was going on, however the issues wasnt with them, it was with XXXX XXXX XXXX not following through with their promotion. XXXX was just following through because they didnt receive the coverage amount from XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I transferred my cell phone services from XXXX to XXXX XXXX. To do so there had to be existing debt owed on current service of which I had none. Subsequently I have received numerous collection notices appear on my credit report and of which all were resolved and withdrawn, The latest being as early as XXXX of which it was withdrawn. Now, on XX/XX/XXXX I received a new collection notice from a new agency called JEFFERSON CAPITAL, LLC, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX, phone number XXXX. Debt description : XXXX. ACCOUNT # : : XXXX ; JCS REFERENCE # : XXXX AND AMOUNT OF DEBT : XXXX. I disputed the debt through the company on or about XX/XX/XXXX and received a response back mail dated XX/XX/XXXX that I stated more information was need and I responded by phone and was told that I needed to obtained documents from XXXX. In addition to the correspondence of XX/XX/XXXX then received another correspondence dated XX/XX/XXXX that stated that I had 30 days to prove the debt was not mine. I went to the XXXX Corporate store and was unable to obtain any records to validate my dispute, The store manager then contacted the XXXX management and I we were unable to obtained any records of existing debt.

Consumer Complaint: I got a complaint for old debt in 2018. I never got any collection letters at my current address. however was presented with summons at my house. I tried to called Jefferson capital and XXXX XXXX to pay this debt and get a settlement. I called and the number provided in the summons kept telling me the department is not there. Waited on hold multiple times to get disconnected. Representative are not knowledgeable or aware of this. No resolution. I even sent an email to XXXX XXXX with a response of asking for my number which I provided. I also called on XX/XX/XXXX to be on hold asking for my information and then getting disconnected. This is not an excuse or a way to collect debt being inhuman.

Consumer Complaint: There is a debt collection company called Jefferson Capital that has put an unpaid collection on my personal credit bureau. It appears that they are trying to collect on behalf of XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX has tried to do this to me several times in the past and can not show me where I ever had a past due or unpaid account with them. I had to call them on the phone and have even gone into their retail store but no one can show me this past due record. I believe someone fraudulently used my name because I was a past victim of identity theft ( I had some checks stolen from my apartment in 2006 ). However XXXX still can not provide this documentation even though they try to collect from me every 2 to 3 years for this fraudulent record. The last time I had a XXXX account was in 2006 and it was paid and closed. XXXX is trying to collect a phantom or fraudulent debt from 15 years ago! I have been out of work since the pandemic started and this is once again affecting my credit score. Also, it is the only derogatory credit that I have had in 20 years! Please have them cease this and remove the collection from my credit file. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Jefferson Capital sent me a letter about a debt that I supposedly owed to XXXX. I sent them a letter asking them to send me proof that I owe the debt since I know I do not owe the amount they specified. They didn't send me anything and had my letter sent back to me. Then on XX/XX/XXXX they sent me another letter asking for payment on the debt. I ignored it and received XXXX more letters one on, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and the most recent on XX/XX/XXXX. I have not tried contacting them via phone because I know it's a scam and I know I don't owe the amount they're asking for.

Consumer Complaint: Collection agency, Jefferson Capital Systems LLC, reports debt in the amount of {$5800.00}, with original creditor as XXXX XXXX on credit report. I have disputed the account through XXXX and XXXX, still no verification supplied. Original creditor has dissolved the company and I was unable to locate a past due amount with the company that took the open loans. I called collection agency on XX/XX/21 and requested details of the debit by mail but was unable to secure an expected time frame for the information. Collection agency stated they did not know when they could provide. To date I have been unable to receive any verification of this debt and my records and credit report show all loans were paid in full with XXXX XXXX, Jefferson Capital Systems continues to report the collection.

Consumer Complaint: I disputed this inaccurate account a long time ago and Jefferson Capital still has never sent me any information regarding this alleged debt, which I have disputed ( which is a violation of 15 USC 1681 s-2 ) Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) & ( a ) ( 2 ) ( B ) a data furnishers compliance is required. Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1681I ( 5 ) ( A ), they have thirty ( 30 ) days from receipt of a letter to respond to a request for verification of the erroneous items. The thirty ( 30 ) days has now expired, and I have not heard from them. Therefore, it must be that the information on my report was either inaccurate, or it could not be verified. In either case, according to the provisions of 15 U.S.C. Section 1681i ( a ), the item must be deleted immediately. Pursuant to 15 U.SC. 1681i ( d ) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
