Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital Systems LLC is trying to collect a fraudulent ( never existed ) debt of XXXX. Some months ago I received a letter from a company called " XXXX '', I believe they claimed that they were based in Minnesota. They claimed that I owed a debt of over {$2100.00} from a XXXX transaction. I had NO recollection of ANY unpaid debts, and so I contacted XXXX, which said that no such transaction had ever existed in all their years of records for my ( long unused ) account with XXXX. XXXX repeatedly called me. After repeatedly telling the callers that XXXX had confirmed there is no such debt as the one claimed they still persisted. XXXX sent me a letter ( from Illinois ) claiming they want me to pay {$2100.00} or to negotiate to reduce the phony " debt '', and arrange a payback schedule. I believe that they said they were part of " Jefferson Capital '' On XX/XX/2021 I received a notice in the mail from " Jefferson Capital '' claiming they want me to pay {$2100.00} or to negotiate to reduce the phony " debt '', and arrange a payback schedule.

Consumer Complaint: A company by the name of Jefferson Capital Systems , LLC contacted me and informed me that I owed {$360.00} in unpaid debt. I am unaware of this debt or the account to which it is linked. The account is fraudulent, and I've placed a fraud alert on my credit report as a result of things appearing in my name that I'm not aware of. This collector has been harassing me about this account for weeks, and I've already stated that I do not know the account in question, nor did I open or operate it. Please help me with this because I've never owned or operated the account they're looking for. They are stating that they contacting on behalf of XXXX but I've reached out to XXXX countless times about the account in question and reported to them numerous times that the account is fraudulent and that the account is operated does not belong to me also that it is a fraudulent account and my notifications were ignored countless times.

Consumer Complaint: This account is not mine. I have asked the reporting collection agency numerous times top validate this debt and they are unable to do so, however they keep reporting it to the credit bureaus. In addition, on my most recent credit report, they are now reporting incorrect dates. Originally the alleged delinquency was XXXX, then they changed it to XXXX, not it says XXXX. Jefferson Capital Systems has no regard for the consumer. They are involved in unscrupulous business practices. They have made no effort to try and resolve this matter and have blatantly disregarded my request for validation of this debt. The account was fraudulently acquired years ago, and does not belong to me. They have failed to provide me with any proof whatsoever to substantiate their claim. I requested to see the application, the proof of identity that was provided at the time of the application and the original signature on the application and they can not provide that information.

This account is being reported reflecting multiple " violation '' statements. I don't believe the status of this account is accurate. I urge your agency to reinvestigate this account and ensure that correct, fair, and complete reporting is given.
