Consumer Complaint: I was given a credit card with Home Depot with the understanding it would be 2 years interest free. I assumed the interest would start after the 2 year period which started in XXXX XXXX to XXXX of XXXX. I look at my statement for this month and I had over XXXX dollars added to my credit card in interest and now they want XXXX dollars minimum for .a payment. This was not explained to me when I purchased the heating and air unit 2 years ago. I should owe around XXXX dollars, So now I am hit with an over the credit limit charge and my balance is now XXXX XXXX dollars. I called the company on XX/XX/2024 and filled a complaint to them on line the same day. They have not responded to my complaint just put me on hold when I talked to a supervisor so long I had to go back to work.

Consumer Complaint: For the third time in less than 9 months this company has checked my credit and lowered my credit limit. I filed a compliant against this company in XXXX I believe with you all. You all did nothing about my complaint with this horrible banking institution. They have once again made an inquiry on my credit and reduced my limit. They just made an inquiry in XXXX. There has been no changes between XXXX and XXXX on my credit. I have no late payments, no new negative or derogatory accounts. This company is targeting me because they have horrible policies that I complained about a few months ago, and still have not been changed. Every time they check my credit, that is an inquiry and that lowers my credit score, the lower my credit limit and that impacts my credit score as well. I will now contact every member of congress and get someone's attention about this matter. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX every media outlet until change is made. There is no reason whatsoever to have my credit checked three times and my limit lowered each time by this company. Who else are they abusing and striving to ruin the credit of. I will reach out to each store that they also service with store credit cards to encourage that they cut ties with them and find another bank.

Consumer Complaint: During XXXX I made a reservation at what was initially advertised as a hotel then once reservation submitted, hotel became XXXX. I immediately canceled reservation. XXXX XXXX ( the XXXX ) appealed and Citi Bank ( Citi ) reversed the charges and credited my account. Then, XXXX XXXX submitted an absolutely fraudulent 2nd bill that I stayed at their XXXX on dates I was NOT in XXXX. I have been diligently and aggressively interacting with Citi inclusive of monthly calls, sending them screen shots of information Citi has requested. And, I have offered multiple times to send them screen shot of my passport with visa data, as well as making transactions on my Citi credit card when I was in XXXX. Citi has listened and blown me off. Most recently, on XXXX, fraud supervisor told me she would work this problem out and get back to me in no later than 2 days. She never got back with me. And yes, I have kept meticulous records. As of today, XXXX, I have been told by another fraud supervisor that the case is closed b/c too much time has transpired. Point in fact, Citi has delayed taking appropriate action and is presently invoking bureaucratic jargon and procedures to NOT return/credit my money. As I submitted ALL the information Citi required this was the most basic of claims to resolve. XXXX XXXX most clearly perpetrated a fraudulent transaction against me via Citi and Citi was negligent in allowing this occur. Citi is responsible for protecting fraud against their card holders. It is abjectly clear, Citi failed in my case.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, While checking my most recent credit report, I noticed credit inquiries that I did not authorize, made by the following companies : Inquiries : CITIBANK NAXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I did not authorize anyone employed by these companies to inquire and view my credit report. This is a violation of Section 1681b ( c ) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and a serious violation of my privacy rights. Validate this information with these companies and provide copies of any documentation associated with these accounts that bears my signature, authorizing a consultation. In the absence of such documentation with my signature, I formally request that these fraudulent inquiries be immediately deleted from the credit file that you maintain under my Social Security number. Please note that you have 30 days to complete this investigation, as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act section 611.

BOTH of which I do not own. They've chosen to respond to my Identity Theft issues 3 months AFTER The Office of the Attorney General received my complaints. In the response, they've included a Best Buy Electronic Application & a response letter from Citi. The application & response letter clearly shows " 3 DIFFERENT NAMES ''. I only identify with my true name & the other 2 are connected to Hard Inquiries & accounts I do not agree, have a knowledge, or have given consent. Each of these names are connected to 3 DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS ... .Best Buy Store Card account, Citibank Credit Card account ( not citibank but says it is being reported as CBNA ), & a XXXX XXXX account ( Best Buy Rent to Own Appliances ) 1 ) Best Buy Application name as : XXXX ... .The application is for Best Buy Store Card ONLY. This is NOT a Citibank Credit Card Application 2 ) Citi Responds Adresses name as : XXXX XXXX ) Citi Response Greeting name as : XXXX ( The ONLY name I Identify ) This are NOT mere mistakes as I've received Credit reports from 2 CREDIT BUREAUS in XXXX pertaining to the Investigation of Fraud Accounts in placed in the names " XXXX '' and XXXX neither which doesn't belong to me. The name XXXX were both added to XXXX & XXXX Credit Files & Reports 11 to 16 days later after XX/XX/XXXX. There was a Hard Inquiry ( XXXX ) ADDED to my XXXX Credit Report and File for XX/XX/XXXX which I didn't consent & have absolutely no knowledge of this date. THIS IS FRAUD XXXX has a CBNA account that was also ADDED showing the Opening date as XX/XX/XXXX & Closing date of XX/XX/XXXX. I also have absolutely NO knowledge & have never given consent of this account or date. CBNA was added to the Best Buy Store Card which I have no knowledge. The employee used Deceptive Business Practices which has been proven stating I CALLED them to re-evaluate my application. I went into my Best Buy located in XXXX, IL. I never called anyone from my Cell phone or from Home. I was physically present in the store when the employee placed the call for my concerns. I didn't apply Online either. With Credit my Scores 800+ with ALL 3 Credit Bureaus, WHY would I need to have this done? I'm Credit worthy & companies would love to extend me credit. The credit approval was for {$4000.00} which threw up a Red Flag in which I questioned once I was approved for the Store Card. The Best Buy Application not only has a name which I DON'T identify that the employee entered while he had possession of my State ID, it also has a Signature which isn't mine and the application itself has an Identifying Name which has a date of XX/XX/XXXX. I don't acknowledge or consent to this date. There was a SOFT INQUIRY done on my XXXX Credit Report on XX/XX/XXXX & the name of company is BEST BUY/CBNA. Best Buy is the only company I recognize & whoever 's reporting these Fraud accounts & Inquiries are employees of Best Buy. Whoever reporting has lied in all responses to the Attorney General, myself, CFPB, etc, to cover up what they intended to do with my credit as my scores were 800+ on XX/XX/XXXX. In all responses, they've constantly added that items reported on my credit reports would be updated for correction. What they don't realize is they don't get the opportunity to do whatever they wish to consumers credit files and reports without repercussions. Had the account been true and accurate, along with entrance of true & accurate personal information & dates, there'd be NO NEED to constantly CORRECT & UPDATE everything reported to each Credit Bureau. Federal Laws & Consumer Laws under Federal Government has been broken. My Credit Utilization has INCREASED tremendously by opening & closing additional fraudulent accounts without my consent & knowledge. The employee of Best Buy & the Cardmember Supervisor must answer for each role they've played in trying to ruin my credit as they are well aware of the theft of using my identity. There's no need to respond because with each response given by whoever 's responding, they must lie to cover up the previous lies told before which gives proves they're covering up their Fraud. They've provided all I need.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/scrub>XXXX there was a charge to my Citi card for {$74.00} and I immediately notified Citi of the charge. I was told to not worry, and that they ( Citi ) will take it off my account. Two days later, XX/XX/scrub>XXXX another charge for {$59.00} was charged to my account. And again I called Citi and notified them, and again I was told to not worry, they will take it off my account. One month later, I was billed for the charges I had called them ( Citi ) about. And I was told I am responsible for those charges. Citi gave me the name of the company making the charges to my account ; XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. I explained to Citi that I do not know the company and I don't know how they got my card information, and I did not receive any package from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. I ordered a XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX and it is suppose to a free gift from XXXX. When I was billed {$74.00}, I contacted XXXX, and they ( XXXX ) said the email was not from them. I did receive the XXXX XXXX which I immediately return to sender without even opening to know the content. I have explained all these to Citi, I even wrote letters to Citi. They simply ignored all my letters and insist I pay for the fraudulent charges on my account. Please I need your help.

Consumer Complaint: I opened an account with Citibank around XX/XX/XXXX, funding {$74000.00} from my XXXX account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I decided I wanted to move {$10000.00} back to my XXXX account and initiated this request on Citi.com website. At this point, my account was flagged and locked. The next day ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I was informed that my account would be closed and they would send me a check in the mail within 60 days. I would really like them to reinstate the account, or at a minimum allow me to get back my {$74000.00} wired into my original XXXX account. I find their action to close the account without warning or reasonable cause crazy! I find their action to hold my money for 60 days without interest crazy! I had intended this to be a kind of emergency fund and did not realize that withdrawing my own money to another of my bank accounts would be considered a breach of contract! I really need some help. I am worried that I won't be able to get my money.

Consumer Complaint: Hello On XXXX XXXX, I had my daughter set up an account with CFPB and had her assist me submit a claim regarding my Citi Credit Card. She opened an account on my behalf and filed the claim and it was assigned ID XXXX. Since my daughter 's email address and phone number we listed in my claim, it was rejected with the following reason This complaint lists someone the company does not recognize as their customer or their customers authorized representative. I called a CFPB representative to see why my claim was closed and I was told that I need to create my own CFPB account and only use my information and submit a new claim. I followed the guidance from the CFPB representative and created an account with my email and submitted a new claim on XX/XX/2023 ( ID XXXX was assigned ). A few days latter I received a notification that This complaint appears to be about the same issues as a complaint weve already processed for you. The complaint number for the complaint weve already processed for you is XXXX. This repeat complaint is now closed. There will be no further action on this complaint. I called a CFPB representative AGAIN and was told to submit a new claim since Citi bank rejected the first two. I would like to reiterate that Claim XXXX was closed ( since I had my daughter help me ) so claim XXXX was NOT a duplicate but was rejected by Citi anyways. In accordance with CFPBs guidance I am trying to submit this claim ( since my first 2 were closed without being investigated ) so I can finally get some assistance. This is a prime example of the XXXX I have been dealing with at Citi. This issue has been outstanding since XX/XX/2023! I am XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX and this is causing me a great amount of stress! Some details of my issue with Citi are as follows : My account with Citi was hacked and someone purchased several XXXX dollars worth of charges in XX/XX/2023. I filed a dispute, paid for all the items I purchased and cancelled my card. Citi sent me a new credit card with a new number. I told them I did not want the new card and they told me to destroy it. I destroyed the card but Citi added two of the fraudulent purchases that were being disputed onto the new card ( one for Home depot in the amount of {$210.00} and one for XXXX in the amount of {$89.00} ). This was in XX/XX/2023. I informed Citi that the two charges on the new card are fraudulent and that I never authorized the new card. On top of that, Citi is still charging me monthly interest for the two fraudulent purchases they moved to the new card ( they now say I owe {$470.00} ). I have called Citi numerous times, I have written letters and been on hold for many hours. Citi says the charges are under investigation but continue to charge me late fees and interest. I am concerned my credit score will be affected! I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and I feel they are trying to take advantage of me. I have done everything and nothing is getting this resolved. can you please help?
