Consumer Complaint: I received a call through a relative, on their phone from a place that identified themselves as XXXX XXXX XXXX associates. They called from XXXX. I returned the phone call. After asking for my social security number which they already had, they were asking me for information. I continually asked them what this was regarding and they finally told me Citibank. They said Citibank had sent me a bill for an old debt and I ignored it. They said Citibank had a defaulted balance from me for {$10.00}, XXXX and they tried to settle with {$1500.00} a week ago and I did not accept it and said that I tried to defraud Citibank and they were going to sue me. They continued to ask me questions and I told them I would contact Citibank and find out what they need from us. She continued to talk and I disconnected.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22 I attempted to wire a payment of XXXX to my mortgage servicer ( XXXX Bank ) from my Citibank checking account to pay off my mortgage. After multiple days of the payment not being received, I went to Citibank to determine the issue. I was told at Citibank the wire was put on hold due to " money laundering '' and that I would have to email a set of answers to specific questions before the funds would be released. I asked to have the funds refunded to me immediately and to cancel the wire, but was told that was not possible until I emailed the answers to the questions ( e.g. purpose of wire, who is the recipient, who owns the company, etc. - XXXX is a publicly traded bank... ). I emailed the information the same day and was told the money would be returned to be within XXXX business days in full, including a refund of the wire fees. Nearly XXXX weeks later I still do not have my money, and am being told the money is still being held for investigation. The money in my account had been there for quite a long time and was paid to me from a business that uses Citibank. I have banked at Citibank for nearly XXXX decades and have previously wired money to XXXX Bank for my mortgage. There is XXXX reason why my transaction would be flagged as " money laundering '' I continued to call Citibank to resolve the issue and keep being told the money will be returned shortly, but I can't get ahold of anyone who works on the issue, or an exact date of when I'll receive my money. The fact that I can't have my own money returned to me or get anyone to tell me what is going on while they hold my {XXXX} is bewildering. This has cost me XXXX of dollars in continued interest with my mortgage servicer and dozens of hours of headache trying to resolve the issue. I ask the CFPB to please help and force Citibank to return my money and stop ignoring my requests.

I called today to tell card company I did not authorize & did not know what the charges were for. Consumer Complaint: This is not a duplicate nor is this complaint being filed by a third party, I am filing this complaint myself. Please see this complaint is processed to the letter of the law. XXXX is failing to comply with FCRA Sections 605B and is also in breach of Sections 616 & 617 for willfully non complying and neglecting to adhere to the rules and laws of the FCRA. I have submitted 4 complaints informing XXXX that I was a victim of identity theft. XXXX is failing to block or remove the account from my report. I followed their guidelines. I filed a report on the FTC website, I specified how the identity theft took place, that I did not benefit or receive goods or services from the alleged account, I validated the identity theft with a federal law enforcement agency ( which they're claiming I haven't ), I submitted the identity theft reports, provided a report circle the fraudulent account, an affidavit from the FTC website & provide a photo ID for their records. XXXX has claimed the accounts listed below have been verified and are accurate. I'm truly confused by their antics/tactics on how to report this issue but they are ignoring this dispute and failing to comply with the rules set forth in the FCRA. I need them to be held accountable & have this account blocked/removed : CITI XXXX XXXX Opened : XX/XX/2015 Balance : {$3000.00}. XXXX attaching the required FTC Report for you ( which complies with FCRA Section 603 ( q ) ( 4 ) which states ( 4 ) The term " identity theft report '' has the meaning given that term by rule of the Bureau, and means, at a minimum, a report ( A ) that alleges an identity theft ; ) ( B ) that is a copy of an official, valid report filed by a consumer with an appropriate Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency, including the United States Postal Inspection Service, or such other government agency deemed appropriate by the Bureau ; and ( C ) the filing of which subjects the person filing the report to criminal penalties relating to the filing of false information if, in fact, the information in the report is false. ) The report included this language but XXXX is neglecting to process it to the letter of the law. Please see they are held accountable for as this is impacting my life in emotional, physical & financially... and I would truly not what to pursue a legal remedy ... and the bank 's records ( learned through more research both parties require ). Please block/remove this file. If you feel there is a possibility this account belong to me I require all documentation that bears my signature ( another research item I found that requires you to verify with 100 % accuracy that each account is 100 % true, accurate, correct, complete & VERIFIABLE ). If you do not provide any records & claim the item is verified please understand I will seek legal action. I do not take kindly to games nor does my attorney. I have a loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have always made my payments on time. Ive contacted the bank about the issue & they continue to fail to provide me with verifiable proof. Ive disputed it with all three ( 3 ) credit reporting agencies & they too are withholding any verifiable proof, as required under Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) Disclosures to consumers [ 15 U.S.C. 1681g ] ( ( a ) Information on file ; sources ; report recipients. XXXX and XXXX shall, upon request, and subject to 610 ( a ) ( 1 ) [ 1681h ], clearly and accurately disclose to the consumer. If the consumer to whom the file relates requests that the first XXXX digits of the social security number ( or similar identification number ) of the consumer not be included in the disclosure and the consumer reporting agency has received appropriate proof of the identity of the requester, the consumer reporting agency shall so truncate such number in such disclosure. & Section 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [ 15 U.S.C. 1681i ] ( a ) Reinvestigations of Disputed Information. I checked my credit card and it showed XXXX charges ( XXXX from XXXX and XXXX for a website I've never heard of ) totalling around {$400.00}. All on XX/XX/22 around XXXX when I know for a fact I was at my doctors office at that time. I have contacted my credit card company to report the fraud. They canceled that number and will be issuing me a new card. And will be returning the products I recieved.
