Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22 I submitted complaint to CFPB, complaint ID : XXXX, and got the response from Citibank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX but Citibank is not a responsible Bank as a sending Bank. Citibank Transfered the fund through the corresponding Bank XXXX Bank XXXX ), and according to Citibank, the fund was received by the corresponding Bank XXXX Bank XXXX ) on XX/XX/22, due to the XXXX ( local clearing system ) code was invalid, the fund could not be credited to the final Beneficiary Bank XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I have emailed the XXXX code to Citi XXXX XXXX XXXX, email correspondence for almost 2 months, at the final end Citibank just asked me to inform the final Beneficiary to contact their Bank XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to investigate Bank XXXX for the transfer fund. Citi XXXX Bank XXXX Bank XXXX ) will only accept the instructions from Citibank, the final Beneficiary Bank is not in a position to investigate the transfer fund. I hope people should be careful to do transaction with Citibank, I have lost the trust in Citibank.

Consumer Complaint: Tried calling got no where. When I tried to then dispute the transaction online it doesnt allow for a dispute online you have to call which as I said got no where. I am writing to have this company put in a dispute for a transaction on XX/XX/22 for XXXXXXXX XXXX The company states they are out of New York they are out of XXXX and they dont tell you that - its 15 days they havent even shipped it they only supposedly printed a label but they know i was contacting citi because when I think Ill get something from the us and then I find out after purchase that its really XXXX or some other country/ I dont deal with the deception.. I want my money back since they have not sent it out.

We have been a customer of LL Bean for over 50 years and I am treated like I am a no body.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22, I opened a new checking account with Citibank on the incentive that if I maintained a balance of {$30000.00} for 90 days, I would receive a {$500.00} cash bonus. I was told that the qualifying funds would have to be from funds not already in possession of Citibank. Days later, I deposited a bank check for {$25000.00} into the account. During the next XXXX weeks, I deposited funds into this account, both qualifying and non-qualifying. On XX/XX/22, I deposited, by ATM at the same location as opening the account, a {$3500.00} check from my husband 's XXXX account. Unfortunately, this was a mistake on my husband 's part. The bank account had been closed for about XXXX year. The original reason for this account closure was caused by XXXX bank -- another account was immediately opened by XXXX in my husband 's absence. I am open to elaborating on this XXXX account closing, but it would lead any reasonable person to understand my husband 's confusion. This check is the source of the problem with Citibank -- or so they claim. On XX/XX/22, I received a phone call from Citibank 's " fraud department '' presumably in a far-away land. I answered their security questions, which I believe should have cleared everything up. Thereafter, Citibank put my account on " blocked '' anyway, including over {$27000.00} of my money. It has been weeks now. After many phone calls to XXXX XXXX, banker ( XXXX ), all the local Citibank can do is tell me to contact the " fraud department. '' The " fraud '' department does not provide me with any Citibank policy guidelines, other than to angrily state the account is " under review '' and will likely close at some indeterminant time. They further tell me that when they do choose to close the account, that it will take another 70 days to receive a bank check from them after that. I can not help but believe that minor mistakes are frequently made when funding accounts such as this, and Citibank uses this as an excuse to entirely tie up large sums of funds they did not originally have - a very punitive and draconian measure. It is interesting to note that my funds will be tied up for just about the same time I was going to be leaving the money in the account to begin with -- but at my own election. These are very suspicious circumstances. Upon information and belief, as of today, the account is not even closed. The indefinite waiting period, bereft of any underlying bank policy to support it, with my money out of my control, along with passing the buck on to a foreign " fraud '' department, as well as a collective " shrugging of shoulders '' is very unsettling considering the substantial sum of money that is tied up -- leading me to ask ask myself if Citibank is truly trustworthy. The lack of personal discernment in this situation is appalling. This is arbitrary, whimsical and erratic behavior on the part of a national bank. Would this have happened if there were only {$500.00} in my account? Is there an end to this? If so, what is their policy in this regard? What is driving the decision making? Remember that the totality of all of these transactions occurred on an extremely local basis -- all within a two-mile radius. And yet, the fraud department ( are they the actual " fraud '' here? ) in a far away land having nothing to do with our very local issue, by local people, who are real and available to personally show up, present identification, PIN numbers, etc. Further, please note that no one would expect a check written and deposited on a closed account to ever be paid into another bank, so that is indicia of a lack of fraud. No goods or services were procured. My husband was legitimately confused -- we were merely trying to fund a new account in order to take advantage of the {$500.00} offer. Also, he HAD the money in a XXXX account that XXXX themselves set up in my hisband 's absence, as a substitute -- that was the account that my husband thought he was writing a check on. In short, this was merely a mistake between a husband and wife, and now I am left with a inordinately severe and very unsettling punishment. Further, I am not the one who even wrote the check, so why is my account being affected?

Consumer Complaint: Account was charged XX/XX/2022, for fraudulent transactions in the amounts of {$10.00} and {$2800.00}. We called to report the fraudulent charges. Citibank cancelled the card and issued a credit for the charges. However, when they transferred the balances on our old card to the new card, they added the XXXX charges ( {$10.00} and {$2800.00} ) to the new card. When I asked them why there was not a provisional credit for those amounts pending determination of the validity of the charge ( my understanding of the regulation ). They ( including a supervisor ) said that they do not make provisional credits. The only time there would be a credit would be if their investigation determined that the charge was fraudulent. Again, this is contrary to my understanding of the treatment of disputes and I told them I would be contacting CFPB.

Consumer Complaint: I never received items I purchased online. Merchant is unresponsive, order has never been shipped out. I placed an order on XXXX on XX/XX/2022 for XXXX XXXX XXXX for a total of {$64.00}. After not receiving an order confirmation emailed, I emailed the merchant on their support email provided on their website. I got an automated unable to deliver email because the email they provided was fake. I waited and opened a dispute with my credit card company, Citi, on XX/XX/2022. On XX/XX/2022, the merchant replied to the credit card company with ONLY a receipt of my payment. They have never provided proof of shipment or delivery of the items I purchased. Even with this evidence, the credit card company, Citi, has sided with the merchant and closed my dispute. I have provided them with evidence I never received my items, the merchant provided a fake email address, the merchant never shipped out the goods, and my order is only showing as " processing '' on this day, XX/XX/2022. After some internet investigation, I have found this website to be FAKE! Many people have been scammed in the same fashion as me. They placed an order, made the payment, and never received the goods. This merchant website is XXXX but they operate under names such as " XXXX '' and " XXXX XXXX. I have also provided evidence of this website engaging in scams in pictures I have attached. It is not fair that I found this website on XXXX, made a purchase, never received the goods, to dispute it with the Credit card company and they sided with the merchant even though the merchant had no evidence of shipment.

Consumer Complaint: A fraudulent transaction occurred on my Citi LL Bean credit card. Someone drew a {$8400.00} convenience check against my card. This generated a fee of {$330.00}. All occurred mid XXXX. Citi immediately placed the {$8400.00} into a disputed status and removed it from my account. However, there policy is that the {$330.00} remains until after the investigation which could last 60 days. They dont plays fees into dispute?? This makes no sense. I am getting notices of payment due. I have made 4 calls to Citi. Last two escalated to fraud investigation where I learned of this policy. They would not take the {$330.00} away. They agree I will be late on a payment and to my knowledge my first ever. My credit score dropped XXXX points when this occurred. Surely it will drop again when the account goes past due. Please help. My issue is no one at Citi above these hard working customer service reps were available for me to state my case. On each call I asked for some one with authority to handle call me. No way. I have to write then in XXXX XXXX. I assume and hope you can help so this frustrating experience can be resolved and maybe help others. Thanks.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a credit card with Citi bank - the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card and was denied for a bankruptcy from XXXX 28 years ago. My current XXXX score averages around 800, I currently have two credit cards with Citi that are about 10 years old with a combined line of credit of {$54000.00} and are paid off every month. I charge well over XXXX per year and do not have balances on my cards. Our household income is about {$780000.00} per year. I am more than happy to provide verifiable documentation of any of the above. I have not had any issues with obtaining credit for 20 years as I worked very hard to restore my financial stability after my bankruptcy in 1995. Note I am now XXXX, I was XXXX when I filed and filed due to loss of employment. I find it odd, that after I told the credit analyst that I wasn't sure if I should have included my husband 's income on my solo application that she couldn't hear me anymore, stated she would call me back, did not call me back, and then I got a denial letter for an almost 30 year old bankruptcy. Note - I asked if I should include his income because most of the debt on my credit report are joint accounts and joint responsibilities. I feel that I am being discriminated against for being XXXX as there is nothing negative in my credit file, my account history with Citi ( along with my other creditors ) on my existing Citi accounts is XXXX

I completed a dispute through Citi bank but they said that because the card was not reported lost or stolen and the card can not be cloned, they can not reverse those charges.
