Consumer Complaint: Citibank put a block on the account that ends on XXXX because they said that someone was trying to access my checking account. Not, only did they put a block on the account but also removed my login credentials. Even though the account was blocked Citibank accepted and XXXX deposit from my employer XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The deposit from my employer was in the amount of {$850.00}. I contacted Citibank regarding getting my money back since they were not supposed to accept the deposit in the first place but rejected. I was told by Citibank that they could not verify my identity even though I gave them my social security number, date of birth, phone number, email accounts, current and previous home address. They insisted that they could not verify my identity or tell me exactly what was it that they were looking at. Then, Citibank told me that I was going to receive a letter with a reference number. This was back in XX/XX/XXXX at which time and out of a lot of frustration, I decided to wait for the letter with the reference number to come. It was the first week in XX/XX/XXXX and the letter never came.. I filed a complaint with the XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The complaint number is XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX a Citibank representative contacted me by phone and assured me that she was going to make sure the letter was sent out to me. I contacted the XXXX letting them know what the lady told me and to close my complaint. The letter never came so I called the Citibank fraud department again and again was told the same the letter will be sent out. I finally received the letter call Citibank and gave them the reference number and they had the audacity to tell me that I was going to have to call back because they couldn't verify my identity even with the reference number they sent me or even the code the representative sent to my cellphone. I had been on the phone today 4 times with different representatives that acted as if it was the first time they heard about this issue. Right now it is XX/XX/XXXX and I have been on the phone with XXXX for an hour and 32 minutes trying to resolve this issue. At this point I asked the Citibank representative XXXX that I want to close the account and get my money back and I am still waiting on hold for the account to be closed. The thing that really aggravates me is the fact that they are taking fees out of the account. I hope you are able to help me because this is very frustrating and a waste of time. Thank you XXXX XXXX

THEY REACHED OUT TO THE FRAUD/SECURITY DEPARTMENTS WHO TOLD THEM THAT I NEEDED TO VISIT THE NEAREST BRANCH, PROBLEM IS THERE ARE NO BRANCHES IN MY STATE OF ARIZONA AND THE NEAREST IS ABOUT XXXX MILES AWAY IN CALIFORNIA. I THEN CALLED AGAIN AND SPOKE TO A WOMAN NAMED XXXX WHO ALSO REACHED OUT AND HAD NO IDEA AS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON. SHE TOLD ME I WOULD GET AN EMAIL WITHIN 1 TO 3 BUSINESS DAYS AND FILED A COMPLAINT # XXXX. IN THE MEAN TIME I CAN NOT USE MY DEBIT CARD MAKE ANY WITHDRAWALS OR PAY ANY BILLS THROUGH THE ACCOUNT SINCE IT IS NOW BLOCKED. PLEASE PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR THIS ISSUE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Consumer Complaint: As you can see from my account, I submitted a request to stop all junk mail and any mail services from Citi Bank for my former roommate XXXX XXXX on XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email with an attachment on company letterhead that confirmed that the mail for her would stop coming to my apartment. Three months later, I am still getting her junk mail and I am livid that the company said that it would stop and they confirmed it to me closing the case, but it is still happening. They are in violation of what they promised and the complaint is not rectified. I attempted to contact them through the phone number provided on the letterhead and they were unable to do so. They told me to call another number but to get through to that service, I need to have a Citi account myself. The fact Im having to spend any time at all to opt out of junk mail to my private address is ridiculous. An online site for opt out needs to exist so companies wont be allowed to assault people with their unwanted wasteful junk.

Issue: Problem when making payments

Consumer Complaint: I have had a personal loan with Citi Bank the past few months. It was for {$21000.00} starting in XXXX of XXXX. I paid each minimum payment on time each month. I decided to consolidate things even more with getting a {$30000.00} loan with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Part of the consolidation with this loan was to pay off the rest of the Citi loan. XXXX approved my loan. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX sent a check of {$18000.00} to Citi to pay off the rest of my loan. Yesterday, XXXX told me that Citi cashed the check on XX/XX/XXXX. However, Citi did not take the money off of the rest of my loan and still has not done so. Each day it accrues more interest and still says that I owe this money that should have been paid off when they cashed the check. I have called Citi multiple times about this issue. A representative for XXXX was on the phone with me yesterday and recording these conversations. Citi told us that the check XXXX sent to them was not the correct address. The address I provided to Discover was the address Citi sent me on the Loan Note ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, SD XXXX ). Citi has told me the check should have been sent to an XXXX, MO location but I see that nowhere in my documentation from them on anything and they have never given me the exact address. It took a long time but Citi finally provided XXXX with the fax number at the XXXX XXXX location. XXXX needed this so they could send Citi a fax with the proof of payment. XXXX did that. Citi did create a XXXX XXXX for this issue. ( Case # : XXXX ) Citi told me yesterday this would take 2-3 weeks to resolve after the investigation. When I called today to get an update, they told me it could now take up to 90 days. In the meantime, they are still saying I owe the amount on my loan with my next minimum payment due XX/XX/XXXX. They advised me to not pay it and take the penalty of late charges until it is resolved. I do not want this to hurt my credit score if I do such a thing. They said all the late charges, interest and anything else will be resolved when the case is resolved. XXXX has been very good as they pushed back my first payment a couple of weeks to try to help me. Citi has not done this for me or put any payment on hold to avoid penalty or anything. Citi has also not guaranteed me this will be resolved after the investigation. In the meantime, someone cashed the {$18000.00} check though at Citibank on XX/XX/XXXX that was specifically sent to pay off my loan. This has resulted in me being very stressed out and have not had much sleep as I am very concerned about this whole process. I need this resolved ASAP and made right soon where Citi shows that I do not owe any more money on this loan from the money they cashed to pay it off. This whole process has made me very upset and I have a hard time doing anything else in my life with this always in the back of my mind. Please help. Thank you!

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I reviewed my XXXX credit report and noted that there was a Charge-off account being reported by Macy 's XXXX I wrote to Macy 's on XX/XX/2022 requesting that they investigate, verify and validate what was being reported. ( See attached letter ) Macy 's response was not forthcoming and indicated that they could not comply to my request. They then had Citibank N.A. to send another letter informing me that they are no longer trying to collect on this alleged Charge-Off. I do not understand what is the problem with verifying an accoun that they've reported to the Credit Reporting Agencies, unless they realized that they are not able to comply with my request!
