Consumer Complaint: I opened a CitiBank XXXX XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX that had a bonus of {$150.00} for depositing $ XXXX and {$450.00} for depositing $ XXXX. I have been a CitiBank customer since XXXX using their XXXX XXXX credit card weekly. I initially funded my account through a XXXX XXXX savings account with {$10000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I transferred funds from my personal XXXX account in the amount of {$10000.00}. Those funds were from my XXXX. I sent over another $ XXXX from XXXX XXXX, and then moved {$6200.00} from Citi to my XXXX checking account. My current balance with CitiBank is {$25000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I was informed that my savings account was being closed for suspected fraud and my credit card was closed as well. The transaction in question was the {$10000.00} that came from XXXX. Citi claims they could not verify funds came from an account I owned. I can't help that the deposit did not say my name. I'm sure I'm not the first Citi customer to transfer funds from XXXX. In order to make the transfer XXXX made XXXX small deposits and a withdrawal from my account which I verified through my XXXX account. That should have sufficiently proved my ownership. I called Citi to get this cleared up and was told they were not interested in my providing proof of my ownership of that account and my accounts would be closed. I now have to wait XXXX XXXX to receive my {$25000.00} from my account. I have bills to pay in the meantime and can not wait that long. There are no Citi branches in my state to travel to to get the money sooner. It is absurd that they offer a bonus for a large deposit and then close my account when I try to follow their rules for the bonus.

Consumer Complaint: Somebody hacked my Best Buy account. And made several purchases. Ive contacted Best Buy multiple times and theyve yet to take the debt off my credit card. I ended up paying the credit card off recently and paid for that fraud to avoid further interest payments.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am writing with hopes that you may help to resolve this problem. My husband and I applied for Bankruptcy in XXXX due to our unfortunate circumstances. Citibank was one of the debts that was included in the Bankruptcy. Currently we are trying to sell our home and when the bank ordered a Title Report, the report included Citibank as an issue. I reached out to Citibank in an email, because that was what I was directed to do after I made a phone call to them. I was then instructed, by Citibank to write a letter to Citibank and state what my issues were and how I can settle with them for a Lien release. I offered them {$3000.00} for the release and I havent heard from them since. I would like to resolve this issue with them but I feel that they are not interested. I tried to call them and when I spoke with someone at Citibank recently they told me that it looks like this account was discharged from their system and then told me to start over again with the exact information I sent them in the first place. I feel they are delaying me and putting me in a perpetual circle of not being able to complete this issue. I will include all documentation for you to see. Also, this debt was already discharged in our bankruptcy.

Consumer Complaint: We received a check from FEMA flood on XXXX XXXX for {$71000.00}. It had Citibank plus our names on the check, XXXX & XXXX XXXX, We has an old Citibank home improvement loan which we paid off XXXX. We took the notarized copy of the loan pay off to our XXXX XXXX with the check and they refused to cash it. They said Citibank had to sign off on check. We drove to the XXXX XXXX to Citibank in XXXX XXXX. Talked to Assistant Vice President, Manager, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, Fl XXXX, Phone XXXX. He said he could not sign off on the check because it had to do with a home equity loan that was paid off. He sent the check and the notarized pay off letter to CitiBank Mortgage, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, SD XXXX on XXXX. It arrived ther on XXXX. It was received by XXXX and left in office. Citibank would not answer any of phone calls. We called FEMA Flood. We explained the situation. We sent then the pay off note and a copy of the check and bank info. They agreed to re-issue the check in only our names. They called us back and said the check was cashed on XXXX XXXX, XXXX without our signatures. Back of check said XXXX on back, so they could not reissue our check. We went back to Citibank in XXXX XXXX. They sent the info to their reserach dept in Maryland on XXXX and we still have not gotten our money. We need it for home repairs from XXXX XXXX. No one will help us get our money. Citibank owes us the money. It is our money. XXXX XXXX gave us a case number XXXX. He does not answer our calls and neither does Citibank. We desperately need help.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I opened a checking account with citibank last month, made an opening deposit of {$30000.00} from my XXXX money market acount for a {$400.00} bonus promotion. About 2 weeks later I got a notification from citibank that they had closed my account and that I would be receiving a letter in the mail with the reason why. It has been almost a month since then and I have received no letter. I ended up going into the branch and they told me the account was closed due to fraud. There has been zero fraud in my account and I even showed the citi banker the transfer that came out from my XXXX account to fund my new citibank checking account. Citi is now refusing to give me the money back and I fulfilled the terms of the promotion as well so I am also demanding the {$400.00} bonus that is due to me for depositing the {$30000.00}. There was no fraud in my account, I have used this XXXX savings account for almost a year now and have had no issues with any other bank. Please get this resolved with Citi, they are thieves. Everyone I speak to at Citi customer service hangs up on me. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I'm a recently retired XXXX XXXXXXXX after 24 years with one employer. I received a large payment from my company 's retirement account. While I was trying to determine how to invest these funds, I decided to open a Citibank high yield savings account so that these funds could earn interest while I worked on my investment strategy. I opened the Citibank account on XX/XX/23 and funded it with an electronic transfer from my checking account with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I made two additional deposits on XX/XX/23 and XX/XX/23. My total deposits into the Citibank high yield savings account were {$220000.00}. After meeting with my investment advisor, we determined the best use for the funds. As such, I started moving funds back to my XXXX XXXX XXXX checking account from the Citibank high yield savings account. I was able to move {$15000.00} by XX/XX/23. Then, on XX/XX/23, I received an email from Citibank informing me that my high yield savings account would close within 60 days due to a violation to the terms of my agreement. The message provided a phone number to call to get more information. I spent countless hours discussing the issue with Citi customer service. I was transferred numerous times to various teams, but nobody could tell me anything additional other than what the email contained. I asked on several occasions to speak with management. I was told each time that they were all in meetings and not available. One individual told me he would have a manager call me. That didn't happen. I was also hung up on during one call. I simply wanted an explanation as to what I did as I felt there had to be a misunderstanding by Citibank. I was never able to talk to someone that could help. Now, it's been several weeks and I haven't received any additional communications, nor do I have access to my funds. My online access has been blocked for all my Citibank products, including a credit card I've held for a decade. I would like someone to discuss the situation with me and provide an explanation for what happened, and more importantly at this point, send me my {$200000.00} in retirement funds. Each day that passes, I lose significant interest income and any upside I would have from the investment opportunities I identified with my financial advisor. I don't understand how Citibank can permit a large transfer of money into an account but not allow those funds to flow out when needed. This is a significant amount of money for my retirement that Citi is holding hostage while treating me like a criminal.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried to communicate with Macys About them violationg my rights, They also Sold my information without my consent to XXXX XXXX XXXX and are actively reporting an open account on my credit report without providing me with validation, i am not requesting verification of my mailing adress or email address. They alsp did not provide me the disclosure forms at the begining of the credit process to opt out of credit reporting or opting in which is required by law and grounds for deletion and a mall claim they also have not provided me any documentation, a signed consumer contract with my wet signature on it stating i agree to them sharing my personal information or giving them authorization to Furnish anything on my credit report. Ive contacted this company and the credit bureaus about this issue numerous times, i have documented the reception of my communication in XXXX and mid XXXX. In accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act XXXX XXXX XXXX has violated my rights 15 USC 1681 section 602 states i have the right to privacy. 15 USC 1681 section 604a section 2 states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written consent Under 15 USC 1666b A creditor may not treat a payment on a credit account under an open end consumer credit plan as LATE fro any purpose unless the creditor has adopted reasonable procedures to ensure each periodic statement including the information required by section 1637b of this title is MAILED or DELIVERED to the consumer not later than 21 days before the payment is due.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a customer of Citi Bank since XX/XX/XXXX, and I have a credit card account with them. My credit card APR standard purchase interest rate has consistently been at 9.99 % until this past XX/XX/XXXX, when it was increased slightly to 10.74 %. I received notice from Citi this recent XX/XX/XXXX that they would be raising my APR standard purchase interest rate to over 17 %. Citis explanation for doubling my APR standard purchase interest rate, as communicated in my XX/XX/XXXX statement, was due to : - A reported credit score of XXXX ( from XXXX ) - The number of accounts I have in delinquency - Too few accounts currently paid as agreed The aforementioned explanation Citi provided above is untrue and unfounded. My credit score, as reported by XXXX, is XXXX ( XXXX could not provide me with my credit report ). As per my XXXX credit report, I have been late with ( 1 ) credit card payment in a total of 10 years across ( 6 ) credit card accounts. Additionally, with the exception of this ( 1 ) late payment, all of my credit card accounts report " exceptional history '' with me, including Citi Bank. I therefore disagree with Citis explanation and associated 200 % hike in my credit cards APR standard purchase interest rate. I contacted Citi Bank today, Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, via phone and I communicated everything Ive written in this message to a Citi bank agent. I asked that my APR standard purchase interest rate be changed back to the previous 9.99 %. The Citi Bank agent filed a report and this associated request for me, and she said that it XXXXay or may not be considered by the bank.
