Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, made 3 purchases that i didn't remember using Shop Your Way Mastercard for, they were XXXX & XXXX to XXXX XXXX, and XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX, totaling XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX while paying bills, i questioned the charges, Shop your way told me not to pay it and said they would find out what was charged. They sent it to their fraud department which reported I didn't need to pay the XXXX, that the charge were fraudulent. XXXX froze my account the end of XX/XX/XXXX, because Shop your way took the payments back of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, totaling XXXX i paid XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and told Shop your way that XXXX was paid and Shop your way was owed nothing. Since then it has been a monthly late fee from XXXX every month, calling and talking to their reps, thinking we have it straight, then the next month, another late fee. Now they have a credit company wanting XXXX, the original XXXX and months of late fees they are adding on, while they affect my credit score adversely. i faxed to XXXX the statements from XXXX that show they were paid XX/XX/XXXX, i also sent it to XXXX XXXX XXXX, but to no avail. They refuse to stop charging me with proof.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a savings account with my mother online with Citibank. On XX/XX/2023 we transfered {$100000.00} from my and my husband 's bank account in XXXX to fund the new savings account. Unfortunately, we used my husband 's profile on the app to transfer the money and didn't realized it did not include my name on the transfer. Contacted Citibank in XXXX to see what was the issue since I couldn't access the account. They froze my account and set it to closure because the name on the transfer was not mine or my mother. Explained to them what was the issue, they took notes. Contacted XXXX and explained the problem to them. They tried to retrieve the money back from Citibank. Citibank blocked it. Called Citibank again yesterday XX/XX/2023. They still have the account set to closure, but holding to our money. Explained to them again the whole situation, but they have no solution but to wait another month until the situation is investigated. I asked to have the money sent back to XXXX since they got it directly from XXXX, but they refuse. The only solution they are willing to do is wait another month and then send a check to my husband. In the mean time, they are holding my {$100000.00}.

Consumer Complaint: In the past year, I have had different incidences of identity theft. Due to these incidences, back in the spring of XXXX, I put a credit freeze on all of my credit reports along with putting a freeze on XXXX to prevent bank accounts from being opened in my name. I also put identity theft alerts at these entities. COMPLAINT : Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I found out that XXXX accounts ( checking and debit ) were opened at Citibank AFTER they had contacted XXXX. I verified with XXXX that the freeze was in place. The rep at XXXX stated they can only report- they can not guarantee what the banking institution will do after they receive the XXXX report. I am angry and frustrated that I have done all I need to do to protect myself yet Citibank is not doing their due diligence to protect me.

Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: I did a mobile deposit of my check from my employer on XX/XX/23. I received an e-mail days later XX/XX/23 stating that my account is closing within 60 days. I was told because the address my employer placed in the check did not match the address on my checking account that it was fraud and my account will close and I dont have access to the funds and I will have to wait for them to send a check. I called with payroll supervisor on the phone in XXXX and was told that they will send the check to me in the mail. As of today I still have not received my funds and now I am being told I can not get my funds after following their instructions from their customer service to wait 15 days after XX/XX/XXXX when the account was closed and check was mailed out to me.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Problem getting a working replacement card
Consumer Complaint: After my credit card expired with CitiBank last year ( XX/XX/2022 ), the credit card company has refused to send me a replacement card. I have contact Citi 's customer service team and have spoke with a client account specialist. The client account specialist have asked me for verification. I provided the information. The client account specialist still refused to assist me with help to obtain a replacement card and told me that Citi would use a third party to skip trace locating where I actually live in order to send me a confirmation letter just to request a replacement card to an expired credit card account. Citibank is deliberately attempting to sabotage my credit account with the Company and refuses to issue me a new card after repeatedly for several months. I will not pay the bank another dime until they have issued me a replacement card. I have made payments on time and have not been delinquent and as a card holder I should not be denied any request to receive a replacement credit card for an active account.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: We purchased home appliance set in XXXX from Home Depot on a promotional month plan for their credit card. We were paying it off in full during the promotional period. In XX/XX/XXXX, we made an additional purchase, and the online portal for Home Depot made a clear statement that the balance of our current purchases were eligible for a new promotional rate again ( XXXX interest ). We accepted this promotional rate, and adjusted the payments we otherwise would have made. It did not say anything regarding what would happen to accrued interest on the original purchase, clearly appearing as a balance carry forward without penalty. If it had been in anyway made clear this balance would be subject to penalty as part of their promotional efforts, there is absolutely no chance we would have amended our payments. In XX/XX/XXXX, Home Depot then charge us the full interest on the appliance purchase despite clearly marketing to us that this was a promotional rate for the full balance. To date this is over {$1000.00} dollars. It's clear from payment history that we changed out payment with the new promotional offer to reflect what was communicated online by Home Depot. We continued to make regular payments, without notification our outreach from the company other than expected monthly emailed bills, for which we had no reason to suspect interest accrued. Home Depot has been charging us interest since XX/XX/XXXX. The attached document below includes email confirmation for my Wife ( XXXX XXXX ) on the new promotional offer, Home depot 's standard promotional language, and the change in payments reflecting the date of the promotion.
