Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Problem getting a working replacement card
Consumer Complaint: I paid off my credit card as I am planning a trip abroad and plan to use this card for that trip. The old card was damaged and destroyed. I went online to get a replacement and received a message that I had to call to request it. I called and was told this account was closed many months ago and they can not process the replacement. I asked when and was told a long time ago. i advised that the online portal shows the account active with a {$0.00} balance and an open credit line/available credit of {$3800.00} I was told don't worry we will update that. I asked why I was not informed, and they refused to answer that. I was told it was closed many months prior due to lack of use. I asked to speak to a manager and was hung up on. This is a huge disservice and discriminating to me due to my age. These are unfair practices, and they should be held accountable.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: I recently had my credit report pulled for a potential mortgage loan. On my XXXX credit report, it shows that I am an authorized user on a CitiBank CBNA credit card that is open and active. This card was opened XX/XX/2012. At the time I was a XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX and a XXXX of the State of California, in the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have never authorized my information to be used with Citibank credit cards. The credit card currently has a {$9900.00} balance which is severely damaging my credit and ability to buy a home. I repeatedly called CitiBank to resolve the issue, however they are unwilling to help me without a full account number, or full name and social security number of the primary account number. I have no access to that information since my name was used fraudulently on this account. CitiBank refused to help me or remove this fraud even though it shows on my credit report.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: As of XX/XX/2023, a total amount of {$2800.00} was spent from my account on unauthorized transactions when my personal information and phone was stolen. After filing a police report, I disputed the transaction and requested that my debit card be blocked, cancelled, and replaced. Maybe even the entire account if that has been compromised. Citibank performed an investigation into the dispute and responded by saying that part of it was fraud and the other part isn't fraud. So they provided me credit back to my account for part of the dispute in the amount of {$760.00}. In reality, I had no business with the merchant and ALL charges were unauthorized. Citibank then made me file an appeal for the decision on the remaining unpaid balance and I still have yet to receive my money back nor have I received an update on the investigation. They have been giving me false promises and misleading information such as, " I will receive a provisional credit within 10 business days while they are conduction the investigation which may take up to 90 days. '' It has been 30 days since I originally filed the claim. I am now set back a month behind on bills because of their inability to protect the funds of a consumer/client.

Consumer Complaint: On my Bloomingdales/AMEX card, back In XX/XX/XXXX I filed a dispute against a merchant ( XXXX XXXX ) for overcharging, not receiving the comps they promised to give due to an INCIDENT ( major injury ) that occurred on there property. In any event the charge was for {$840.00}. As Im well aware as the consumer, Im protected by the Federal Credit Act & Federal Trade Commission regulations which have put into place a 90 day window for a merchant to respond. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received both a letter in mail & email saying I WAS FULLY CREDITED in the amount of {$840.00}. Meaning the 90 days was OVER! Then 3 weeks later I receive yet another letter & email now saying that the credit has been reversed, due to the merchant now replying. For one the credit card company should have protected me & should have been well AWARE of these FEDERAL REGULATIONS, in addition to responding to the merchant by advising them that its been well over the length of time to submit any documents. And now with accrued interest & late fees my total is {$930.00}. Which Im fighting every XXXX to be credited bc I paid off the entire balance of {$4100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I opened my Citi XXXX Savings Account on XXXX XXXX under the bonus terms as stipulated in the Welcome Package I received from Citi, by responding to a solicitation from Citi after opening my Citi credit card. This solicitation targeted me through my online Citi credit card account. I qualified for and completed all four activities and should have receive my {$450.00} bonus by XX/XX/XXXX at the latest. I still have not received it. I contacted a representative ( XXXX ) about the matter on XX/XX/XXXX. I received an on line notice stating the promotion was not offered with my account ( please see attached ) .When I opened the account the agent stated that it was opened with the promotional bonus plan, and that is why I received the Welcome Package with pages that specifically detail the bonus schedule and I received an email confirmation stating the promotional bonus program was applied to my XXXX Savings account. These are attached as proof. Today, I received a call from Citi customer service today, asking if I ever received a direct email invitation or flyer in the mail to enroll in the bonus program, and told the representative that I did not, but answered a solicitation to enroll through my on line account. Please refer to the attached email confirmation that I was enrolled in the promotional bonus offer. I would think that this is deceptive, fraudulent marketing practices as evidenced by other numerous complaints for the same and past civil judgements for misleading advertising, or a honest clerical error.
