Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Last year I was notified that I had a debt from best buy/city bank regarding a debt that I hadn't paid. However, I had never made an account under the city bank or best buy. Then When I tried contacting them for an invoice or proof of purchase, they were unable to provide that information.

Consumer Complaint: At XXXX XXXX on Monday, XX/XX/2023, I went to the Citibank location at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Texas to get a cashiers check, however there were no bank tellers in the branch. The only 2 people in the branch was the branch manager and a supervisor. They told me the teller would be back in 10 - 15 minutes. I left and came back at XXXX XXXX and the teller was still not back. The supervisor told me the teller went to the clinic and was still not back yet, so I asked the supervisor if she could help me with getting a cashiers check and she said no. She that the teller is the only one who can help me when she gets back from the clinic, because the only other teller is still in training. This is HORRIBLE customer service. The branch manager or the supervisor should have been able to assist me rather than asking me to keep coming back in hopes that the teller would eventually return to her work station. Otherwise, they should have closed the bank if no transactions could be made. What kind of bank refuses to help their customers? And what kind of bank has to come to a complete stand still because the teller has apparently left for the day? This is piss-poor management at this location and the worse customer service I have ever experienced at a bank. If a banks hours of operation indicate that they are open, then they should be able to serve customers whether their tellers show up for work or not. This is unacceptable!

Consumer Complaint: I was at a Macys store in XXXX Florida in XXXX and was buying some items. The salesperson asked if I had or wanted a Macys credit card. I said I used to have one. Her response was that they could reinstate the account. I said that is fine as long as it doesnt involve a hard pull on my credit as I did not want my credit pulled. She replied that there would be no pull. I asked her two additional times before agreeing and she said there would be no credit pull or inquiry to reinstate that old account. Later that day I received an alert that Macys pulled my credit, hard inquiry. I did not give permission to do this and called Macy.s credit. After being transferred around I was told that the inquiry would be removed and I would get a deletion letter. It has now been over 90 days and I have received nothing. I have attempted to call them back multiple times, have held as long as 80 minutes until their system disconnected me. I contacted the credit bureaus and they said I had to call Macys. I explained that I have multiple times, so they suggested I reach out to you. I didnt authorize this credit pull and was verbally told 3 times that no hard inquiry would be done. This is an unauthorized pull of my credit and I want it off of my report.

Consumer Complaint: I was advised when I filed this initially im XXXX, That a fair and rational investigation would be done regarding a blatant and fraudulent charge for {$610.00} on my Citi bank account. Well that's not the case, as Citibank, XXXX store, and XXXX itself have all denied the claim that I filed for this charge from XXXX. I have a police report, granted the police did nothing but I still have one ... they never asked for that, they went by 3 pieces of paper from XXXX that show that I bought a XXXX XXXX XXXX phone online using my mobile wallet purchase without a pin number being used, sent the phone to a different address over an hour away from my address in XXXX to XXXX Oklahoma. This person clearly ripped me off. I do not live anywhere near XXXX in fact, you can look up the address and it's listed to a completely different person... not me. I would like a formal investigation to be continued, and the provisional credit reversed back into my account. No one on the phone or the fraud department will even respond to me and I'm in the negative in my account through no fault of my own.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I was on the XXXX XXXX website purchasing three airline tickets for {$1100.00}. When it was time to pay there was a credit card offer showing to apply for an XXXX XXXX XXXX card with Citibank. The offer stated I would receive a {$400.00} statement credit. I clicked the button and a new window popped up. I started to fill out the application and the website said it looks like you are already a Citi cardholder and to sign in to make the application faster. I did that completed the application and was approved. However, I was never given a button to click or anything to go back to the XXXX XXXX site to finish paying. I also never received a virtual card either. I did receive email stating I was approved. I had to pay for the tickets, or I would lose them. So, I decided to use my other Citicard so I could show Citicard I still used their company to pay for these tickets. I called XXXX XXXX to tell them what happened. The blamed Citibank and transferred me to them. After being on hold for 30 minutes, Citibank said they can not help me and blamed XXXX XXXX. About a week later I received my card. I called XXXX XXXX and explained what happened and asked them to put the airfare on the new card. They said they can not. I then called Citicard and they said I have NO statement credit offer at all and there is nothing they can do! I know the marketing department at Citibank knows what offer they were advertising and can easily find out if the {$400.00} statement credit was offered on the XXXX XXXX website on XX/XX/2023. Citibank can also look at my other Citicard ( Costco ) and see I paid for the airline tickets on XX/XX/2023. Bottomline, I would NEVER have applied for this card if they had not put this amazing offer in my face on their website stating that I would get a {$400.00} statement credit if approved. I was approved!

Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon. I have exhausted all options in attempting not to file a complaint against CITI Bank ; however, I couldn't get a resolution. I was owed XXXX XXXX in interest and only received XXXX on XXXX. On XX/XX/18, I made a large withdrawal and confirmed with the teller that I would get XXXX days of interest with my withdrawal amount and XXXX with the post amount. It didn't come that way, and I called citi bank customer service, who acknowledged and error and said they would escalate it. A week later called again they said it hadn't been reviewed. I called the XXXX md XXXX, and the manager, XXXX, told me there was an error he would escalate it. Now I call the branch, and no one answers. I need this resolved. I was also charged XXXX dollars for a check for the withdrawal because the bank didn't have enough cash to fill the withdrawal. That doesn't seem to be my problem that I should have had to pay for a check.
