Consumer Complaint: This is what is occurring to me right now XX/XX/XXXX Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, I just received a wage garnishment from XXXX and XXXX PA XXXX Apparently, I was sued by them on XX/XX/XXXX. I was unaware of this until yesterday. I was never served or received anything regarding this lawsuit in XXXX. This was intentional, as they don't want you showing up to a lawsuit that is fraudulent/frivolous. I do not recall having a Citibank account in the previous 10 years. If anything, they were time-barred from filing a lawsuit. This is the reason they didn't want me to be aware of it. At the same time, this was said to me being served. My partner was being sued by XXXX. We were served XXXX 's paper with no problem. I find it hard to believe Citi couldn't find us. That's because they never tried. I pulled all three of my credit reports. There is no account from Citibank or XXXX and XXXX XXXX Not even under any collection agency of any name, for Citibank XXXX The judgment occurred in XX/XX/XXXX. I have been working for my employer since XXXX. Last Friday was the first I heard of wage garnishment. This last Friday they over garnished my pay. The amount in the state of Delaware they could have legally taken was {$29.00}. Instead, they took {$110.00}. I havent figured out why they are taking 400 % more than they should be. The first time I heard of this was XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX who issued a paycheck from my employer, mailed me a letter stating they were going to garnish my next paycheck. The sealed envelope clearly states that this is a wage garnishment This way my neighbors who get the mail for me and my postman can be made aware of my wage garnishment before I am even aware of it. Of course, nothing surprises me about this illegal transaction. I feel this wage garnishment was intentionally started and I was notified of it on a holiday weekend. The reason being I am unable to get in contact with an attorney, due to the holiday. I am aware the XXXX of XXXX holiday is a long one for most people. I have maybe 10 days to file something with the courts. Of course, they are closed as well. Ive got to give CitibankXXXX credit on a well-thought-out scam. Think of how many people will be scammed out of money. The amount I was sued for was {$2000.00} in the court of common pleas, XXXX XXXX, Delaware. PS. Do I have proof of everything I just stated? Consumer Complaint: I have had a XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX and have an extended warranty option on my account. I have tried to exercise this service/feature of my credit card for over a day. I have called numerous times and have asked for the correct dept, but constantly get transferred to the XXXX XXXX and they don't have record of my account. I continue to call the number on my card, but they insist that is the only number they have. I have asked for a supervisor numerous times, but only get disconnected. I feel like this feature is bogus and citi bank has no intent of honoring it. I have spent collectively XXXX XXXX hours on the phone and feel like this is dishonesty and deceipt. I believe their tactic is to not give you a clear communicator and to hold you on line long enough to give up. I will insist that this claim is honored and as a man that spends XXXX per year on the card, this is a terrible way to treat your customers. I once had a claim on XXXX and it was quick, easy and seamless. Looks like that will become my preferred method of payment going forward.

Consumer Complaint: After filing a complaint XXXX XXXX XXXX ) in regards to a settlement offer that I received/was accelerated to being sent to an attorney, I received a letter regarding my complaint that they were acting within their rights as a creditor for their method on collecting my debt with them. The issue was that a long with that letter I received 5 additional letters ( all in the same Citibank envelope ) that weren't addressed to me. The envelope/mail showed my name to be delivered but when opened there's 5 other letters, for 5 other customers/Citi bank cardholders/ with Names , addresses, last 4 of their accounts, what type of account, the nature of letters ( response to complaints, disputes, adverse actions ), and the name of the officer who completed them This is a violation of the privacy act which as consumers, we rely on our creditors to take care of our information. CitiBank has failed these consumers who's information has been exploited due to a clerical error. How do I know if my information is safe with them now. Names, address, and last 4 will be covered in the proof below. If need be, I can send copies of the proof to. cfpb, the creditor/bank, or to the consumers directly that's listed on there and notify them of this mistake.

Consumer Complaint: i opened an account with citi bank online on XX/XX/XXXX and was told the account had to be funded immediately. So i funded the account and it was my last. i tried to XXXX the money to another account of mine but was told i need to have a debit card. how would i have a debit card if i just opened the account same day? so i called to see how i can get the funds out or verify another way. that policy simply makes no sense because if someone just opened an account online how would they have a bank card? i tried to XXXX it a few times and i tried to transfer the funds through wire transfer. now my account is locked and and under review but that makes no sense? why let me open an account with my information and find the account THEN say its under review? anyone couldve used my information and opened this account. i was told a letter will be sent me to in the mail but that is my LAST of my money. i asked numerous times if they may expedite the letter or the card but i wasnt give either option the reps actually hanged up the phone in my face. i am going to close this account and get a class action lawsuit started. i no longer care to bank with citi bank and the money they will be paying out after i am done with them will be bigger than the chump change they think they can keep stealing from people. they have many complaints of them doing the same thing to people.

I went to the establishment at my pick up time at XXXX. However when I got there, the business was completely shutdown and cleared out. This business is closed down with no date of returning or re-opening. I did not get my items. The fact that they are claiming that they are open and still operating is ludicrous. I have send Citi my online pick up order that I was supposed to receive AND the sign on the door saying they are closed down. Multiple people online have also stated they are now closed for business and have also been scammed out of their money which I have sent in through the dispute documents to Citi. I intend to file a separate complaint with XXXX over its rental of a dangerous electric vehicle which died in traffic. I have disputed XXXX 's charges with Citi. Citi 's ' automated system apparently only accepts disputes involving purchases of GOODS! voulminous information I have sent to its XXXX XXXX headquarters ( as requested by it, have produced the following response : " We are unable to assist you with this dispute as the documentation that you provided is an estimate. It is not the actual sales RECEIPT for this PURCHASE. '' [ emphasis added ]. XXXX gave us NO receipt. upon return of the vehicle we subsequently rented. It later send a copy of the original contract which I submitted to Citi. Note -- this was a service, not conventional purchase of a product. Since XXXX has nver sent me an actual bill for the claimed rental cost, Is the only way for me to get a " receipt '' to pay the disputed amount charged to XXXX 's credit card and then submit a cancelled check ''?

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, 2023 at XXXX PST I called citi bank credit card to see if they would increase my credit limit back to the original credit limit that was extend it to me, and I agreed upon when the card was issued. The first representative that I spoke to advised to me that she would put the request through, but I could not know anything, and the request wouldnt go through until I received a letter in the mail, telling me that they lowered my credit. But I advised her that I had already received this through an email and also electronically because I elected to have electronic notifications. She still would not process the request so I asked for a supervisor. Then a supervisor by the name of XXXX with an ID of XXXX was placed on the phone because I requested one. When this representative gets on the line, I explain to the representative that I would like to request that my limit be increase back to the original amount. In return the supervisor begins to read to me a letter that they sent out that I had already advised that I received electronically. I kept trying to advise to the supervisor that I was just trying to put in a request to have the line increase. And then after I do that, I ask them how long would it take for me to get an answer back from citi : The supervisor advised me that yes he could put the request through today. And yes I could get an answer today. But he also said he was not doing that and then he proceeds to speak over me. I explain to him that I would like to speak to his supervisor. He does not put a supervisor on the phone. He just keeps trying to read me the letter that Ive already explain to him that I already have. And he keeps trying to read things over and over again and basically over talking me not letting me speak at all not listening to me at all just reading, random things and not allowing me to speak. This conversation was recorded and by the times that it was about a 35 minute call altogether. And my request was still not fulfilled. Based off of an adverse reaction that was taken by the bank.

Consumer Complaint: I was Citibank customer for couple years. I used personal checking account to pay my bills, mortgage and shopping. I was never late with payments or at least I don't recall any late payments. Recently I opened my XXXX business and opened citibank business account. Bank representative asked me to deposit at least {$5000.00}. My wife is also Citibank customer. She took certified check from citibank for {$10000.00} and gave it to me so I can deposit it on my business account. I believe I deposit check Monday XX/XX/2023 in citibank. Friday XX/XX/2023 when I logged in to my bank account I noticed my personal checking account is not visible. I called citibank to ask if they can help me. Bank representative explaind that my account is blocked and bank is canceling all agreements with me. He couldn't tell whats the reason of cancelation. Since I didn't have online access to my citibank business account, I went to the bank to check if my business account is closed as well. Citibank representative confirmed my concerns. I don't believe Citibank had any reasons to close my accounts. It will be difficult to run my business without business account. Because of this situation I will be late for the first time with my mortgage payments, my utility bills and my credit card payments, my credit score will suffer as well, it has great impact on my mental health.
