Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: I opened a city checking account due to a targeted bonus they send me. The bonus read like EARN UP TO XXXX AAdvantage bonus miles after completing all required activities. By XX/XX/2023 I should have completed all required activities to earn the XXXX AAdvantage bonus miles. The offer stated YOUR AAdvantage bonus miles will be credited to your AAdvantage account within XXXX calendar days from the date you complete all required activities. It has been more than 30 calendar days since the date I completed all required activities. I spoke to a Citi representative through their app on Friday XX/XX/2023 to confirm that I have completed all required activities, which they confirmed. I am wondering where my bonus miles are. The rep said the miles should be credited within the end of the month of XXXX. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and I am without my earned bonus miles.

Consumer Complaint: Hello CFPB This is regarding the targeted promo from Citi Bank '' EARN UP TO XXXX AAdvantage bonus miles with Citi checking account ''. I opened my checking account with Citi through the XXXX card portal for the targeted promo on XXXX XXXX did the debit card purchases required for the promotion on XX/XX/XXXX totaling over XXXX $ XXXX also had my enhanced direct deposits requirements done since XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX direct deposits totalling over XXXX $ ). Citi 's terms and agreement states that the XXXX bonus should be XXXX days after completion of the requirements ( 30 days after XX/XX/XXXX ) .I called Citi and got confirmation from them that I met the requirements ; and that I should receive the bonus no later than XX/XX/XXXX. Since I did not receive the bonus by XX/XX/XXXX, I called again, now they said that the bonus should be credited 90 days after completion of the requirements. The discrepancyand the difference from what is actually written in their XXXX & XXXX and that phone call was baffelling.I honestly believe this constitutes false advertising and ask your bureau to look deeply into this matter. I have checked online and there are so many people that are facing the same issue. Citi should honor their terms and conditions and provide everyone who met the requirements of the bonus to what they deserve ( I clearly have met the XXXX threshold ). I really hope you can help us close this issue. Thanks B

Citibank is denying my claim and holding me liable because the card was present in the transaction. My card was in my possession, which I told citibank, however I have multiple users on the account. One card was not received in the mail.

Issue: Other features, terms, or problems
Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: It's practically impossible for even a well-informed individual to calculate and figure out if the rewards calculated or earned on the card are accurate. I'll appreciate if Citi could please make it simple and just explain how many rewards points did I earn for which transactions in my latest cycle. Please don't regurgitate what is on the statement as I am indicating here that I don't understand what is on the statement, to begin with. As a Bank I would like to trust, this stuff doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy. Thank you

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: This account is reporting an amount that I disagree with. This was a secured credit card. I had to deposit {$200.00} to access that amount in credit. The card was closed. The company did not return the security deposit nor did they apply it to the balance. I've reached out to the company by phone several months ago, by mail and through disputes with the credit bureaus.
