Consumer Complaint: I responded by phone to a mail promotion from Citibank to open a Citi XXXX XXXX XXXX Account. I used the personal invitation code provided in the document XXXX. The promotion offered a {$450.00} bonus on new funds over {$50000.00} that remained there for 60 days. The application was received by them for the opening of account XXXX on XXXX XXXX XXXX Funds well in excess of that amount were deposited on XX/XX/XXXX ( per statement ) remaining there until XX/XX/XXXX. I called several times inquiring when my bonus would be paid and on XX/XX/XXXX was told ( by XXXX ) I met all the requirements and would see the bonus in no more that 15 days. I then received a letter saying I did not open the right kind of account, although all I knew from the mailing was to open the account as titled in the mailing using the invitation code to qualify. I called to appeal speaking with XXXX ( XXXX ) and received a letter mentioning a promotion code not mentioned in the mailing. I called again to complain and again received the same letter. After 5 months of calling Citi for the {$450.00} I transferred the balance to another bank but feel I fully met the terms of their offer and am entitled to the bonus.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, my son and I arrived in XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX. We went to XXXX XXXX XXXX office and rented an automatic vehicle for our stay in XXXX XXXX since we were going to be visiting different cities throughout the country. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX so there could not be a misunderstanding in regard to the final price for the car rental. I was initially told the total price was going to be {$300.00} and extra expenses if the car was damaged in any way. For which I returned the vehicle in perfect condition and was accepted the employees. Soon after coming back to the XXXX, I noticed I was being charged for a total amount of {$800.00} plus another transaction of {$150.00}. I disputed the transaction with Citi bank and they requested more information which I provided. After weeks of waiting for their response, they declined my claim. I called them to get more information from them and I was told there was nothing else I could do from their customer service. I decided to stop the claim and let it go. I was recently told by a friend of mine about CFPB and decided to file this claim to be treated fairly.

Consumer Complaint: I had a card with XXXX balance, it had been paid off for at least a year. Someone got the information for my card and used it to make fraudulent purchases totaling {$3000.00}, because I do not use this card often I did not notice the charges until I opened my XX/XX/XXXX statement. This has been reported as fraud since XX/XX/XXXX. Not only have they reported this to the credit reporting agencies as past due while knowing the charges were fraudulent and while still under investigation, as of today XX/XX/XXXX they are requesting payments toward the fraudulent balance. They refuse to stop late fees piling up on a balance they know to be fraud. Now when I call them they pass me back and forth between fraud department and customer service claiming nothing can be done ... and it's still under investigation but make minimum payments on the amount they know to be fraudulent. They even reissued a card, left it linked to the old account and the fraudster was still using it while it was being investigated. They have now issued a third card and have not resolved the issues involved with the fraud, while reporting a fraudulent balance to credit agencies, and trying to collect on a balance they know to be fraud. If you remember, my balance was at {$0.00} before the fraud started.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: About XXXX this year I started receiving SILVER oversize envelopes from Citi Cards AA offering the Platinum Elite credit card. I am already a Citibank credit card holder, so I called to ask if this was an upgrade for the existing card as the offers stated that if I expend XXXX in 90 days I would received XXXX miles with AA. The operator was very clear that this was a new card and credit line and I was already eligible to receive miles again as I had closed the previous Platinum Credit Card account with Citibank in XXXX. Today when I called to ask when I will see my miles reflected on my account the operator was fast and short saying : you enrolled days before the 48 months period necessary for a new bonus account and for that reason you will not received your points. When I told him that I was not going after a new credit card and the only reason I agree with the new account was because they offered this bonus by mail and confirmed by phone. For my surprise the attendant asked me to show proof of the marketing envelope that was sent to my address in XXXX XXXX. I told him that I don't keep junk mail and the reason I was checking on the points was because I did called to finalize the offer application on the phone. He said that he can't do anything if I can send him back the invitation that I received with their phone number and offer code. As a consolation he would be able to offer me XXXX miles. I see this is a very big SCAM to open lines of credit for former clients that they know will use and pay their bills. I see how wrong this is to offer me to open a new line of credit days before the waiting period is over so they would not have to issue the bonus to the client.

Consumer Complaint: Last year, XX/XX/XXXX, my Citibank credit card was hacked. So I immediately called Citibank to report and investigate about it. They told me to pay the balance on the account first, then theyd look into the problem, told me to wait 3 months, and then would give me a call so I paid the payment. But after I waited 3 months, I didnt receive any call, so I called the Citibank again and another different representative picked up my call and told me to pay minimum payment first again and theyd investigate the fraudulent transactions. And also said that the credit card was changed but I didnt received any new card. And after 3 months I called the bank again but this time they said they have changed another new card for me and that theyd give me credits but I didnt get a new card and any credits. Again told me to wait 3 months. Between then I made calls about the case but I didnt get any certain answers from Citibank . XX/XX/XXXX, 2 weeks ago I called the bank again, told me to wait 14 days but it has been more than 2 weeks, didnt receive any response from the bank.

Consumer Complaint: My account at XXXX XXXX had a XXXX balance. Then on my statement, there was a charge of {$1100.00} On the next statement, a fee of {$29.00}. was charged for LATE FEE. Now my balance is {$1200.00}. The next statement. Two months later, my balance is XXXX with a credit that says XXXX and purchases of {$2400.00} giving me a new balance of {$1700.00}. I have called so many times, I could not even begin to remember the dates. I filed a fraud complaint, and they always came back saying I owed the money. This has been going on for 4 months. I am afraid that they will report this to the credit bureaus. I had an excellent payment record until this. I am a senior citizen and feel that I am being taken advantage of.
