Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I completed a Balance Transfer from Capital One to XXXX. I did not have my Capital One card on me at the time, so I used my virtual Capital One card number for the transfer. Capital One claims to have never received the payment of {$700.00} that XXXX supposedly sent them. I now owe a balance of {$700.00} on my Capital One card AS WELL as my XXXX card. Neither company will resolve the balance. XXXX took the {$700.00} onto my new card and left the {$700.00} balance on my Capital One card. Disputes were filed, cases were opened more than once ( by both companies ) and both companies claim the cases are closed now. I have now doubled my {$700.00} debt.

Consumer Complaint: i have held this capital one account for 17 years. i have no lateness. my payments have been varying for the past few months and i am unsure why. this month, XX/XX/2023, i paid my bill early- on the XXXX. it was not due intil the XXXX. i paid from my bank 's billpay service. i paid {$110.00}. apparently, the amount due was {$110.00}. this was evidently a typo while entering the payment amount. i was not notified of this {$1.00} discrepancy by capital one. i happened to check my account today, the XXXX, and noticed there was a late fee. i called capital one to correct this error. i was told that the payment i made, which was early, was {$1.00} short. i explained that this was clearly a typo. the agent stated there was nothing she could do. she transferred me to someone who claimed to be her supervisor, XXXX ( employee ID : XXXX ). XXXX informed me that despite being a customer for XXXX and having no record of lateness, my account was flagged ineligible for a waiver of the {$29.00} late fee imposed for the {$1.00} typographical error. i asked to speak to XXXX 's supervisor and she state dthat there was no one in capital one higher than her. of course, this is untrue. i asked her to speak with a person above her to explain why my account was flagged in this way. XXXX told me that capital obe doe snot have to tell me why they make notations or decisions on my account. she stated that i had no right t know and that all she had to tell me was that my 17 year ols, no lateness account was " ineligible. '' she said its too bad that i- the account holder- don't agree and then she abruptly and rudely disconnected the call, refusing to transfer me to a supervisor- which she admitted that she was not ; and refusing to escalate the matter, per my request. first, it is unconscionable to charge a {$29.00} fee for a {$1.00} error. second, it is completely unacceptable to make adverse notations or flags on a customer 's account without notifying them. third, i get payment alerts so i should have been notified that the early payment was {$1.00} short. most importantly, it is WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE for capital one to refuse to have supervisors available upon customer 's request, to refuse to escalate matters when the agent can not answer questions or resolve issues. and it is NEVER appropriate to hang up on a customer who is not beligerent simply because you don ; t want to answer their valid inquiry. where are our protections as consumers of financial products?? is this how citizens should be disrespected and bullied by corporations? is XXXX correct- do we have no right to know why adverse decisions are made on our accounts? that can't be correct- it is, after all, a contract, right? as such, it would seem that both parties have a duty to be transparent.

Consumer Complaint: I have a credit card with Capital One Bank in which I have always made payments on time, for reasons unbeknownst to me, my financial institute XXXXXXXX XXXX blocked all of my payments to Capital One for the month of XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX. I provided Capital One with a letter directly from XXXX XXXX confirming that they made the error. Capital One sent me a letter yesterday in return stating that the information reporting on the credit report is correct. It is not fair that I am being penalized and that my credit rating is being blemished for something that is not my fault. I can also not reach anyone at Capital One to discuss - when I call up the # on the credit card I am being told that the dispute dept is a separate dept. and they do not have a phone #, fax # or email contact - only a mailing address, how can that be allowed?

Consumer Complaint: my ex co worker signed over his check to me. i deposited the check. it cleared and then they put a hold on my account. when i called capital one, they told me i needed to come in with my co. worker and present i.d .. well the closest capital one branch is 400 miles away. I informed them of the distance. Then i was told to go to one of their sister banks XXXX. i went to XXXX and they told me they arent affiliated with capital one. so i called several times then finally a manager told me they cancelled my account. and it was pending an investigation. i keep calling and they never give me a release date and i can never speak to the person in charge if the investigation. It has been almost 2 years now and im still getting bank statements showing my balance of XXXX yet the account is supposed to be closed. i never recieved any phone calls regarding my money. i no longer at the employer and i have no clue where co. worker is. its been more than enough time to do their investigation. 2 years. i needed the money and i ended up losing my vehicle because i got behind on payments due to their negligence. Im also aware that capital one has a huge law suit against them already for the same problem.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I deposited a check thru my banks automated system. My bank accepted the check and sent me an e-mail on XX/XX/2022 letting me know that the check was successfully deposited, so I could go ahead and destroy the check and then gave me the details of my deposit. [ I did not destroy the check ] This check was for {$600.00}. I made XXXX small purchases on the XXXX and then on the XXXX of XX/XX/2022 I went to make a with draw and seen that the bank had frozen my account because they that I had made a fraudulant transaction. I contacted them and they said they were doing an investigation that would take up to XXXX days and then they would contact me at that time. I was contacted by a gentelman on XXXX I believe he told me that the investagation was complete and they deemed that I was not quilty of fraud and that my funds would be made availiable with in XXXX hours and the conversation was over. I waited for XXXX hours and my account was still frozen. it would take me at least another hour to tell you everthing and all the phone calls that I have made since then including XXXX I just made once again. I have a folder full of just some of the things I have been ask to do to get my money I have done everything they have ask of me and know they won't even talk to me or return a call. thank you
