Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: I am filing this grievance as I opened my account with Kohls XX/XX/XXXX which unbeknownst to me had several hiccups. Since opening the account I was unable to access the online account so I called in my payments. However since I was unable to view my billings I reached out to customer service who advised my account was crossed with my mothers. The only explanation the representative could provide was that the phone number used was attached to her rewards information yet my information SS # was keyed in. The representative was able to fix this so I now have access to my online account. However, I am still unable to link my rewards to my account. As you can see there was much confusion as to what should be a simple fix given modern technology. The purpose of this complaint is that I had my credit pulled for a home purchase and was advised of a 30 day late payment that I was impacted with from XX/XX/XXXX, which was around the time I had reached out due to the crossed profile of my account. I was of the impression all was fixed & any penalties due to the system issues were reversed yet that is not the case as Im being penalized for an issue that prohibited my ability to log into the account. As you can see from my account activity I am a loyal customer and have had no issues with my account since. The late hit has impacted me greatly with almost XXXX points being deducted from my credit scores that will take years to cycle out of. It is my hope that due to the system issues from the mixed profile that Kohls will reverse the XX/XX/XXXX 30-day payment hit from the credit bureaus. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Capital One, the duplicitous and nefarious company had the audacity to close my account on XX/XX/XXXX via an email. These parasites restricted my account where I couldn't access my money. It professed violation of terms ... .ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I was never overdrawn, didn't write bad checks ... I called them to stop payment on a XXXX XXXX, they professed, I didn't give them 3 day notice. Well, they paid them. Then they closed my account!!! My claims I filed should have absolutely no significance. These, to reiterate parasites, left me without my HARD EARNED MONEY. Since, Friday I have no money foe gas to get to work, I have had NO food, they left my son strained in another state without money. This is pathetic YOU allow banks to do this!!! Then, they put the provisional credit on my account. Where I already told them I was refunded. This bank is so incompetent. The emotional distress they endured on him has been crippling. I am appalled they have treated me like a criminal. They are the ones that are criminals. I want my account to be off restricted status AND REOPENED and an apology for the criminal ineptness.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Three adverse action letters sent on XX/XX/2023 and were delivered on XX/XX/2023 stating " We are closing this account because activity on this or another account is not consistent with our expectations for account usage and violates the Capital One Customer Agreement '' The only different activity on the account was exercising the right to use the Bill of Exchange Act. There was no other change in account usage. There were no wrong usage of the account nor any violations made. The federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act prohibits creditors from discriminating against credit applicants because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. The closing of the three accounts were discrimination from exercising rights in good faith.
