Consumer Complaint: I am writing to address the ongoing issue regarding the account restriction on my Capital One Quicksilver Secured credit card. As a responsible and dedicated cardholder since XX/XX/XXXX, I value the services provided by Capital One and have diligently maintained timely bill payments and kept card utilization at a minimal level. On XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notice informing me that my account was restricted and that I needed to provide additional identity verification documents. In response, I promptly submitted all the requested identification documents as instructed on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I can confirm that all the required documents were successfully uploaded and received on your end. However, on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I received a follow-up call from Capital One requesting further identification documents for XXXX XXXX, who is an authorized user on the same credit card account since XX/XX/XXXX. Specifically, Capital One requested XXXX XXXX 's XXXX driver 's license and social security number ( SSN ) card. It is important to note that XXXX XXXX is a citizen of the XXXX XXXX and entered the United States on a tourist visa. He possesses a valid XXXX driver 's license issued in Texas, a copy of which ( front and back ) was submitted to Capital One on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. However, as a visitor to the XXXX, he is not eligible to apply for an SSN, and thus, does not currently hold an SSN card. I conveyed this information in a formal letter to Capital One dated XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, a copy of which is attached for your reference. Regrettably, I have not received any response from Capital One since then. In an attempt to resolve this matter, I contacted the hotline at XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to follow up on the case. During the call, I was informed that I should provide the ITIN ( Individual Taxpayer Identification Number ) for the authorized user in lieu of the XXXX. Unfortunately, XXXX XXXX is not eligible to apply for an ITIN due to the same reasons as the XXXX. Once again, I explained this situation in writing to Capital One through a letter dated XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, a copy of which is also attached. Throughout this entire process, I have consistently inquired about acceptable alternatives to the SSN/ITIN as proof of identity for XXXX XXXX, considering the unique circumstances. I am more than willing to provide a copy of his XXXX visa issued by the appropriate XXXX authority or his passport as further evidence of his identity. However, Capital One has firmly insisted on the requirement of an SSN/ITIN, which I am unable to provide. Additionally, I have proposed the removal of XXXX XXXX as an authorized user if it would help resolve this situation. Unfortunately, I was informed that no changes can be made to the account while it remains under restriction.

Consumer Complaint: I was automatically sent a new Debit Card by the system since mine was expiring. However, Capital One 's system didn't put my Apartment Number, so it was lost/returned to sender. I called and when speaking to the agent, said they would be happy to send me another one. Cool stuff. However, when I authorized them to send me another one, they failed to mention that my current card would be terminated. After multiple phone calls and speaking to a supervisor, they could do nothing about the situation. This is an upheaval of my life. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX who drives 10 hours a day Tuesday through Sunday from XXXX to XXXX, XXXX to XXXX on Mondays with an hour for lunch from XXXX to XXXX and I have to eat due to my XXXX XXXX XXXX and other medical problems I currently have. I rely on my debit card to get gas at any given times because of my job. Unfortunately carrying cash puts me at risk for bodily injury as it is never advised to carry cash as a XXXX XXXX unless absolutely necessary. XXXX does not ask us to ever carry cash. I could not access my money since it was after XXXX and I could not get gas or food that evening, as well as having to drop multiple shifts due to being unable to get gas, which hurt my metrics that allow me to keep Premier stats as a XXXX. I am now close to losing my position because of this. I was lucky enough to make it to the bank on Saturday right before they closed at XXXX XXXX. I have not had another opportunity to stop by the bank. Then I had to have someone do my grocery shopping for me since I have a very hard time being inside heavily crowded areas like super markets and malls due to XXXX XXXX with large crowds and currently working with my doctor about XXXX XXXX in my XXXX XXXX. So I can no longer do XXXX XXXX or XXXX without a card. God Bless having a good friend. The wait for my card, according to them, was 12 business days. Getting it Expedited would be 3, but it requires me to be here and they can not give a window beyond USPS ' hours of operation. Which is at any time of the working day. There are no cashless ATMs anywhere near me and I can not create a virtual card for my bank account when a checking/savings does not have an active card attached to it. Using my checking account to pay on my credit card to use it increases the amount of overall interest I pay through the year. This has cost me a lot of time and money for only having gone on since Friday XX/XX/XXXX. I have multiple bills that can not accept credit cards and require my debit card ( ie : My car note I pay Weekly every Tuesday on ). I also had a Monthly bill for the IRS to pay on my taxes, that I now can not pay and will have to find time to call them since there's been an hour hold time/callback when I tried calling them today ( Monday ). As well as my child support payments. If this company can not help me, please direct me to somebody who can.

Consumer Complaint: I received a call on my cell phone and my work phone and my mother received a call which is transcribed below. The caller had no information regarding what this was about. I called the number requested for a XXXX XXXX XXXX and was advised that in XXXX I had a Capital One Credit Card that was not paid and they are using the " tolling agreement '' in the contract to pursue recovery. I have never had a credit card with them, nor have I ever had unpaid credit card. I also have never had this account on my credit repot. I called Capital One and they said they I never had an account with them. They refused to provide me any information on who sent this debt to be collected citing an " NDA '' with the acquisitions company and told me if I didn't pay in arbitration suit would be filed however they could not provide me with the info for the attorney that would allegedly be handling this suit.They also said it was verified XXXX XXXX however I just ran an XXXX report and it is also not there so this XXXX and XXXX Co is clearly assisting their client in commiting fraud. They are the only company out of the 3 bureaus that refuse to remove these 2 fraud accounts from my profile. both XXXX and XXXX were able to confirm that those accounts were indeed fraud. I sent out The beginning of XXXX and XXXX refuses to remove these accounts. PER 15 USC 1681 B AS A CONSUMER I KNOW MY RIGHTS YOU ALL CAN NOT FURNISH ANYTHING THAT I SAY IS FRAUD ON MY ACCOUNT. YOU ALL CAN NOT FURNISH ANYTHING ON MY ACCOUNT THAT I SAY DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. At this point XXXX is breaking the law and I may have to take legal action if this matter isnt corrected asap. I will give this company one more chance to properly investigate because this company never sent me the steps they took to verify the account nor did they tell me if they found my actual wet signature attached to these accounts, WHICH IS ILLEGAL DUE TO THE CONSUMER LAWS. THE ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE TO BE REMOVED ARE CAPITAL ONE AND XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Why can't XXXX 's accept a cashier check made out to them from my account at their store? It's legal tender! I only got the cashier check after Capital One was unable to process a phone payment although my bank stated I had no problems on their side. Capital One was supposed to do the same XX/XX/XXXX but I guess the same thing happened, but they never told me and it was a time sensitive closing total. Now they are tacking another {$400.00} to my account! I walked the payment into their store after I got a cashier check because I'm not trusting them with cash, but I couldn't pay them because the store is unable to accept this form of payment. Why? Now my cashier check is in the mail. I spent several phone hours, then a bank hour getting the check, then I had to drive to Idaho to XXXX 's, I live in Washington, only to find out they couldn't accept payment. Cashier Checks are legal tender! Why doesn't Capital One accept it? ( fyi, you couldn't pay me to open another Capital One account! I closed this one! ) I wish to file a formal complaint.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I noticed two unauthorized charges on my credit card account. XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX - {$430.00} XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX - {$140.00} These purchase were not made by me and it is my belief that my credit card was temporarily stolen while in a foreign XXXX airport traveling for my wedding. I believe these charges are theft and fraudulent and are to the benefit of some unknown individual or merchant at my own personal expense. I can verify with certainty that these purchases were not made or authorized by myself or anyone I know. Upon realizing I had been the victim of these fraudulent charges, I immediately contacted Capital One to report the fraudulent activity and launch an investigation. To my disappointment, 10 minutes after calling them, they had sent an electronic letter stating they denied my claim without ever pursuing any investigative measures as they had promised. They simply stated that because purchases were made by me afterwards, that I would be liable for these fraudulent purchases. Capital One is refusing to protect against certain instances of fraud. Furthermore, they refuse to investigate the matter beyond an algorithmic, non-human analysis. CapitalOne should honor their advertised consumer protection promises and reimburse these unauthorized transactions. Furthermore, they should pursue an actual investigation as they promised they would in order to punish the merchant or individual who is taking place in illegal practices and theft. CapitalOne is not giving my report due diligence and is not willing to consider less likely scenarios that are nonetheless true and the result of unauthorized fraudulent activity.
