As soon as I found out that the company went out of business I called capital one. They refunded my money but then took it back saying I was past the deadline. I paid for the trip well before the trip was going to happen. I contacted capital one as soon as I found out the business went under. I could not have known the business would go under. If I had known, I would've canceled the trip and received my refund from capital one in a timely manner.

Consumer Complaint: We were scammed by who we thought was a XXXX customer support person when needing help with a XXXX transfer to us. The scammer got us to believe that we were increasing the amount to send/receive from XXXX to the default of {$2500.00}. He provided us with what he called a system generated code, which was in reality a phone number that made us make an unauthorized transfer of {$1600.00} from our account. Immediately we contacted our bank, Capital One, and told them what just happened while we were still on phone with scammer. We filed a fraud claim with Capital One. They restricted our accounts and we opened new accounts. After about XXXX weeks, we got a vague email from Capital One that claim was denied as they found no error. We called Capital One and requested an appeal and for claim to be reopened for a rebuttal and provided them with all information we had before. We are waiting for their investigation. The claim number with capital One is XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I had a credit card with Capital one. I authorized capital one to take XXXX XXXX from my checking in XXXX. After paying my credit card in full and closing my account with capital one, I noticed they are still taking {$100.00}. Each month from my checking. I tried contacting them and stopping them from taking money from my account but they did not. I had to close my checking account so they stop taking money. 14 months and {$1400.00} was taken. I further investigate prior 2 years on my statement with XXXX AND CAPITAL ONE. Found that the XXXX XXXX was not applied to my credit card and had caused late fees and interest charges added to my credit card eve though capital one was taking money out of my checking account. From XXXX capital one fraudulently took money out of my checking account in access of {$4000.00} - I have tried to get my money back from them for 2 years. XXXX provided documentation with transaction ID # to capital one to prove capital one has taken money from my checking account. Still no resolution. They open a case and close it, asking me to resubmit document. I have proof that received all document via USPS- I would like capital one to pay back the money they took from checking as well as reversing all late charges and finance charges that I paid them.

Consumer Complaint: I initiated an electronic transfer on XX/XX/XXXX from an external bank account to a recently established savings account with Capital One Bank. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from Capital One Bank indicating that had decided to delay the availability of my funds until XX/XX/XXXX, or 14 days, based on a security concern. I set up the account several weeks prior and transferred a smaller amount of money to start the account. When I set up the account, the funds were available within 2-3 days, and there was no security concern expressed about the smaller deposit. I called Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX to express my frustration, I communicated that I was not upset because I needed the money, but communicated that I believed it was unethical and unfair that they are holding my funds for 14 days with interest, which amounts to approximately {$42.00}. The customer representatives indicated that there was nothing that she or Capital One could do. At no time prior to opening the account or after I opened the account did Capital One communicate that deposits may be held for 14 days. If I had known that was a possibility, I would not have opened an account with Capital One.

Consumer Complaint: I'm a customer with Capital One and several years ago made a {$100.00} cash advance, which they have been charging me interest on every month since. I have brought the balance lower and higher than what it was when I took the cash out and make larger payments than the minimum a month. However I have had to use the card recently for medical expenses and have been trying to pay off the cash advance so they stop charging me an additional interest fee every month on top of the normal interest they charge. I called and talked with a manager named XXXX who said since the cash advance and normal purchase rates are the same they can't allow me to just pay off the cash advance due to federal regulations and that they would continue charging me the interest on the cash advance until the entire balance is paid off. These companies are taking federal laws that are supposed to protect the customer and weaponizing them against us so they can nickel and dime us for years.

Their " New Cardmember Offer : Earn XXXX bonus miles once you spend {$500.00} on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. '' I waited for the new cardmember period to end to see if the bonus would ever be applied. It was not, so I called their customer support. The worker informed me that nothing could be done and that my card didn't come with the bonus. That some cards get the bonus and some cards don't like some luck aspect even though they advertise publicly on their website that you get the bonus after spending {$500.00}.
