Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I received alerts notifying me that there has been a data breach with a government entity that has my PI stored in their systems. I was urged to take action by reviewing all of my information to make sure there are no changes or anything unrecognizable on my accounts. I was also urged to change my information. This has happened twice already and when I reported the issue the first time after noticing some changes on my credit report, the issue had not been fixed. I tried placing a lock on my credit report but I discontinued with the payments which they then discontinued the service.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, unbeknownst to me, I was added as an authorized user to a Capital One credit account that I did not consent to. As a result, my credit score decreased XXXX points. Capital One could not find me on any account so I contacted XXXX. They contacted someone ( I dont know who ) to dispute and remove me from said account. As of today, XX/XX/2023, I am no longer seeing that account and am under the impression I was successfully removed. However, this resulted in an additional XXXX points removed from my credit score. Authorized users are not responsible for the debt of the cardholder, whether they give consent or not. I am demanding that this affiliation be removed from my credit report, restoring my score to its correct number within 30 days pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and that a new credit report is sent to me once this has been completed.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2023 I opened a new checking account with Capital One Bank. When linking my direct deposit information with my employer to my new account I accidentally transposed the last two digits of my account number. XX/XX/2023 my paycheck of {$2900.00} was deposited into the incorrect bank account belonging to someone else. XX/XX/XXXX my paycheck of {$2700.00} was also deposited into this other person 's bank account. XX/XX/XXXX my employer initiated a direct deposit reversal in an attempt to recoup these funds. On XX/XX/XXXX ( and after numerous phone calls with Capital One ) I opened a claim with Capital One about retrieving the missing funds. XX/XX/XXXX my employer notified me that the bank denied the reversal request. XX/XX/XXXX Capital One notified me that they denied my claims with their Customer Protections Resolution Department. I have had countless phone calls with Capital One and my payroll administrator to try to fix this issue. Capital One only notified me of the claims process on XX/XX/XXXX to try to retrieve the funds... this was after months of calling. They have told me that an ACH reversal is the only way the funds can be returned and " it would be treated like a bounced check '' so even if the other bank account holder spent the funds they would still honor the request. Every time I speak with them the goal posts are moved in a slightly different direction, and the last phone call on Friday XX/XX/XXXX they told me that I need to " speak to my payroll again, they have ways of recouping funds. '' I reminded them the ACH reversal was denied and what other avenue does my payroll have? They were unable to answer this question. At this rate Capital One seems to be doing more to help the person that walked away with my paychecks than they are helping me. My son is having costly unexpected medical issues and I absolutely can not afford to lose a month 's wages for my time as an XXXX XXXX. At this time both my employer and the bank are claiming they can do nothing further. Please help

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I contacted Capital One by telephone after finding a fraudulent charge on my card, a cash advance in the amount of {$300.00}. They closed my card and sent me a new card. They issued me a credit in the amount of {$300.00}. Two days later on XX/XX/XXXX I discovered Capital One had reversed the credit and put the charge back onto my account. They did this without contacting me and without investigation. Please see attached Statement of Fraud Affidavit. Capital One has not responded. This was a charge that I have no knowledge of, and was not made by me. Capital One simply summarily denied my claim without contacting me or investigation.
