Consumer Complaint: Capital One credit card will not delete a closed account from my credit report on all bureaus even after it is 7 years and two months in age, and they did not uphold their XXXX insurance agreement after I became permanently XXXX. I had been cleared by their collection agency case manager in XX/XX/2019, and told I no longer was being pursued legally, nor was I responsible for this debt of XXXX due to me being totally and permanently XXXX from injuries sustained in XXXX XXXX, and the XXXX insurance. My report even shows the account was closed XX/XX/2019, however, it shows a last payment date of XX/XX/2019. So those dates are very wrong as well. I have been disputing this for years now to get this negative account deleted to no avail. This is severely impacting my credit negatively, and is unfair. Can someone please investigate this matter as I would like to avoid unnecessary future legal fees.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: I received a check from a credit union, not a personal check, which ended up being a fraudulent check. It was deposited and funds were made available. 2 days later my account was frozen on XX/XX/. I also received an email that says my account is on hold until activity can be verified. I called and left a message as instructed and did not get a call back. On XXXX I called several times was able to speak with someone who says the bank will end its relationship because I used funds from the check that was eventually returned. It feels I am being punished because I was a victim of a scam, this is very unfair, inconvenient and causing issues with me paying bills and potentially negatively affecting my credit as there is no definitive timeline in when Ill receive positive funds from my work direct deposit -the representative says 7-10 business days but they are dependent on people so it could vary. If I did not call again, I would have never received a clear resolution. In our world of sophisticated scammers and advanced hacking it feels discriminatory to end the banking relationship because a check that appeared very real was not. It is the banks responsibility to verify the validity of checks with technology that as a consumer I do not have access to prior to releasing funds. This is not a check I created. I simply was fooled by scammers. Additionally I was advised to destroy the check which could help demonstrate why I thought this was a real check.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: A charge for {$36.00} from XXXX XXXX showed up on my CapitalOne credit card. I called to dispute it and was told to upload a copy of my Drivers License, both front and back, so they can verify it's me. All of this happened on XX/XX/23. I asked that there has to be a better way to verify my identity other than providing such a personal item as my Driver license information. It's bad enough that someone used my card number while the card sits in my wallet but to require I further compromise my Identity with the company that allowed it to happen by giving them copy of the license is ridiculous. I asked to speak with the supervisor who also insisted on my drivers license info. Then I requested they cancel the card but was informed I'd be losing my reward miles I've accumulated if I did so. So today I've used my miles that have accumulated to pay down some of my bill but an addition +/_ {$7000.00} will post and be paid for by me by the due dates. I would have rater spent the rewards on traveling. I am writing this to complain about the requirement to upload the drivers licence info they feel is necessary to verify me. Please forward this complaint to the company so they change that policy. Thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX Cell # ( XXXX ) XXXX Capital One Credit card # XXXX

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: Last month i had a complaint with Capital One and my credit card ending in XXXX. They corrected the fee issue and promised I would have no other issues. XXXX and I talked about my horrible experience and she assured me everything was going to be corrected. She reversed the fees I was charged and reviewed my account. She assured me that I would receive no more fees if I paid the balance due after the cycle date of the XXXX or XXXX of the month. She gave me her phone number if I had any more problems. Well after following her direction of paying after the cycle date, i still was charged a fee again. XXXX was charged on XX/XX/23. This was after i paid XXXX on a XXXX balance. I am pretty upset and frustrated at what is going on and following the directions that XXXX gave me. I since have attempted to call her twice and leave messages. To date, I have yet to get a call back. My guess is that they can not figure out why this is still happening. These unfair and deceptive practices need to be addressed with CapitalOne as the are taking advantage of the consumer in some very difficult times. I am requesting that this fee be reversed again as I did everything XXXX told me to do and the phone call recording will prove it.

Consumer Complaint: Yesterday, on XX/XX/2023, I was alerted by both XXXX XXXX and XXXX that a hard inquiry was made on my account without my authorization. Consumer Complaint: I went away on vacation to XXXX XXXX and there were charges that were made on the card after I lost the card and then I tried to dispute using Capital Ones process. They said they were verified, but provided no evidence how they came to that conclusion after it was requested. I then received notification in the mail that a class action law suit was filed and all of those charges that took place and were in dispute were not valid. Please reference XXXX v. Capital One, N.A. Case No. 1:22-cv-1073. I was also previously impacted by Capital Ones improper banking practices, please reference XXXX v. Capital One.
