Consumer Complaint: I had Comenity Bank for years and went through tough times. I had a few late payments and missed payments. Most of the time they were accidental late or missed payments because of the amount of cards I had with them and confused the due dates of those cards.My main issue is that they would penalize me for paying down their store cards and it would cause my credit to get worse and they reported a late payment that was caused by their system even though they wouldnt report unless its more than two missed payments in a row. They would constantly lower my credit limit to the current balance after making a large payment or sometimes even lower than the current balance putting me at 100 % or over my credit limit. I asked many times why would they do that if they claim to help with credit and they would always say its based on my credit reports. The issue is that if they are basing their info on the credit reports and they are also drastically lowering my limit after large payments causing those 100 % or over the limit reporting. That would just continue the cycle of keeping my report in a negative status and penalizing me for the negative status that they caused ; by drastically lowering my limit even though, I made a large payment to try to lower my balance and utilization rate. They would even have reasons for lowering it due to high credit usage or balance which they caused. If they didnt lowering the credit limit causing close to 100 % usuage, they would just close the account after you paid it in full. Which again doesnt help anyone whos trying to rebuild their credit since now the credit availability is lower. One of the last straws was the payment system selecting the wrong account causing a late payment on my Lane Bryant store card. They also never reported a payment late if less than 2 months late as long as you make a paymentat least a week before the next due date. It dropped my score XXXX points and even the representative seen the mistake but was not able to do anything about it. I fixed the error as soon as I realized the mistake. It was caused when I changed the amount that I was paying online and it automatically defaulted to the wrong bank account instead of the one that I already had selected in progress.You can review current and future payments. You can edit each payment and I selected to change payment amount of the payment that I already processed. I didnt change the bank, the date, or start the process over. Because of the error, It caused a late fee which the representative immediately recognized the error. This error resulting in a drop in credit score. Because of their practices with lowering my credit limit and increasing my utilization rates. I had to close the last remaing accounts. I was even scared to make larger payments or it it in full because I didnt want them to lower my credit, cause an overage, or close the account after I paid in full.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a purchase of {$290.00} at XXXX and agreed to a promotional payment offer made by Comenity bank. The offer was XXXX interest if paid in full by XX/XX/XXXX. I made payments each month in a timely fashion, and they cashed each check I sent, however they failed to post 2 of the checks to my account. I caught the 1st missing payment on Sunday XXXX. I immediately called and messaged to them on their website with copies of the check. On XX/XX/XXXX I caught yet another check that they cashed and had not credited to me. Once again I called and sent a message to them. I was advised by a customer rep on the phone that I would have to pay the amount again ( basically overpay my account ) for the missing payments while they research the problem so as to not get hit with the accrued promotional interest. I did this on XX/XX/XXXX. I checked my account balance on XX/XX/XXXX and it was XXXX. They then proceeded to bill me {$26.00} for accrued interest. (?? ) They have since credited my account for the missing checks but not the XXXX in interest. I paid this so as to not have my credit score hit, but here I wait to get it back all I hear is crickets from Comenity. Hoping you can intercede and get this money back. This is not a lot of money. But this is stealing. This company needs to held accountable.

Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank, store credit cards for Forever 21 and the XXXX. Reporting incorrect balances and history of cards. My cards were in perfect credit in 2018 until I had made purchases online at both stores that didn't fit, so I returned them to the store for credit-they never applied the credits. I contacted them, they said it would be corrected, but it wasn't after three months, so I closed both accounts. They continued adding " late charges '' on even after I closed them. Now Commenity sold the accounts to " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' who sends mail and calls constantly with different addresses and telephone numbers trying to harrass me into paying them and threatening to go court. This is affecting my credit report with incorrect information. I will never do business with any of those businesses again.

They are also in violation of the Federal Credit Reporting Act sect 623 ( a ) ( 3 ). As well as NC. GENERAL.STATUTE.58-70-50 that requires a collection agency place its permit number, true name and address to all correspondence sent to the debtor. They have failed to do what is prescribed by law in the Federal and State laws mentioned above. If they do not remove the negative items being incorrectly reported under my social security number on my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX credit reports I will use all legal remedies that are alotted to me per Federal law and Local State law.

Consumer Complaint: Comenity XXXX Credit Card. I never received my store credit card, account number, and information in the mail after applying and using it in the store. I called the number from the website to inquire on how to pay the balance and set up my online account, but was not able to reach a representative multiple times. I tried to pay over the phone, but the automated phone service required an account number. I finally reached a representative who processed my payment and assured me that it went through. I went out of the country for a family emergency for the next month, and was not notified that the payment had not processed and was considered late. I paid the balance immediately upon my return, but they would not remove the 30 day late mark on my credit report.

I have been getting calls after hours and they have Twice now called my father 's phone to try to talk to me! I have never given my father 's cell phone number or his house phone number to this bank, so how did they get these numbers? And it is ILLEGAL to call My father 's house and cell phone to try to locate me and in doing so it creates a breach of contract with me. I know so because it states this with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act. I am getting calls before XXXX XXXX in the morning and calls up until XXXX almost XXXX at night from this bank and that is clear harassment. They are not allowed to call me before or after hours. This has been going on for a few months now the harassment.
