Consumer Complaint: I mailed in a check in full payment of my credit card balance ( via certified mail ) to the address shown on the credit card statement. The payment was received at the location specified for payment 5 days prior to the due date ( payment tracked to the po box XX/XX/22 at XXXX ; due date was XX/XX/22 ). I was charged interest and a late fee. When I contacted BJ's/Comenity Capital, I was told that I am responsible to pay the bill well before the due date because of their lockbox/processing time ; therefore the late fee and interest are due. I am in the process of disputing the charges but have spoken to a Customer Service Rep, a Manager and now have to engage in a formal dispute process.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 Comenity Bank stated that I authorized them to electronically debit my bank account to pay the {$280.00} bill I owed to my XXXX 's Credit Card Account. I do not have a XXXX 's Credit Card Account, in fact I do not have any account for Anyone to debit any funds from!!! I contacted Comenity Bank by Email concerning these two fraudulent accounts involved here and explained that I have not opened any of these accounts and told them to freeze these accounts and investigate them because these accounts are an act of identity theft and/or fraud. The Email I got back from XXXX XXXX with Comenity Bank pretty much stated that they are not freezing these accounts or closing them or investigating anything even after they have been reported!!!

Consumer Complaint: I received a pre-approved offer from XXXX XXXX visa on XX/XX/22. I applied for this and was approved on XX/XX/22 ( or so I thought ). I received my card on XX/XX/22 and activated it that same day. I set up my account on the website and attempting to set up my PIN # I was informed through the website that the account was closed and would/ could not be reopened. I was a little shocked at this. I contacted the bank who informed me ( rudely I might add ) that after reviewing my credit report the account was permanently closed. Thank goodness I didnt try to use it since that would have been very embarrassing. After conversations with a representative and a supervisor I was told that the account would not be placed on my report as that was my main concern. On XX/XX/22 I have once again received a PRE APPROVAL letter from Comenity Bank on behalf of XXXX XXXX for a Visa card. Once again I contacted the bank with no success. Today, XX/XX/22, I was notified that there was a new account on my report from XXXX XXXX XXXX. So again I contacted the bank who is refusing to remove this from my credit report. They did say they would be reporting the account as closed by lender which as you well know will be a derogatory blemish on my report. I do not think it is fair that my credit be dinged for an account that I never had access to. I am requesting that this account be removed from my file entirely. I made the suggestion to this bank to reword their offers. Pre approved is just that, not that I am invited to apply. They gave me an acceptance code??? Please help me so that my credit doesnt suffer from something I have NO CONTROL over.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a 18 month interest free account with XXXX XXXX for an engagement ring. I signed a contract with the Sales Manager at XXXX who also confirmed 18 months interest free. My next 3 statements all have finance charges. I contacted Comenity Bank and every Customer Service Rep says my account did not qualify for the 18 month interest free account. The Sales Manager at XXXX also sent Comenity a copy of the contract and they still refuse to reverse the charges.

They assessed me another {$1.00} the same day. Because I paid it off, I didn't check my account to see that this has happened. Now Comenity Bank is reporting late payments and keeps adding late fees. My balance was XXXX on XX/XX/22. There should have been no other fees added. I want the credit reports updated to show no late payments and balance back down to XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: A week after this company contacted my mother in law, they called my mother on Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, and left a voicemail message with details about my debt to their company. I do not know how they obtained my mother 's personal and private information such as her phone number and do not appreciate it. The rep XXXX, stated that she had no way of getting in touch with me, but that is not true. The company has my phone number and mailing address and has been in contact with me in the past. After my previous complaints, the company stated they would leave my family members alone, but again it seems that they either lied or are just being vindictive.
