Consumer Complaint: I hired an independent contractor to build a porch. We communicated both in person and via email. He said he required no $ down until the job was finished but I then received an email from him requesting 50 %, {$2100.00}, due to the high cost of supplies. I sent it via XXXX to the link he provided. When the job was completed, I said that I had paid him 50 % and he said he had never requested that. I showed him the email and he said it was not him. I contacted BOA immediately and filed a complaint. They temporarily refunded the # but took it back on XXXX after they sent a letter saying they were unable to approve the claim. They furnished the recipient providers name, XXXX, their email, XXXX, and their phone #, XXXX. I went to the XXXX, NY office and spoke with XXXX, who put me on the phone with XXXX from their fraud dept. She said it did not fit their definition of fraud and there was nothing more they could do. I then spoke to one of her supervisors, XXXX, who also said the same thing. He said he was giving it to their scam tracker dept. but that there was no way I could speak with them. IF they recover the XXXX I will get it back. I told him that I was reporting this to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who has now forwarded it to you, I believe, and the BOA and also suggested that I file a complaint with your dept who has jurisdiction over the subject matter of my complaint. I do not understand why the BOA is not more persistent in recovering the XXXX We have been with BOA for decades. I am hoping that you can be more affective that the BOA. Sincerely, l XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Today XXXX @ XXXX I made my final pay, emt of {$240.00} to this trifling company Bank Of America on the card ending in XXXX after being told I couldn't pay using my debit card and when I went off on the lady telling her I wasn't giving my routing and acct information because I didn't trust BOA she did her job and said let me check your acct but only after I told her I had proof of them using my debit card before to make payments and she saw that I had and transferred me to someone that was able to take the payment using my dbit card. Theefore, my first complaint I did against BOA I resolved mnyself not the so called good for othing and useless lady XXXX XXXX XXXX ext XXXX that never returns calls she is useless and should be fired as the rest of the ppl I have spoken to at BOA that caused me to file the original complaint about not accepting my payment by debit card when it had been done and I had proof. The reason for this complaint is that i was refused proof by email that I made my final payment of {$240.00} to BOA as my lender asked me to do so. I'm so sick of trifling BOA with all the lies. I was first refused proof by the rep that took my final payment of {$240.00} on XX/XX/23 @ XXXX named XXXX XXXX and I then asked for a Manager and was transferred to a XXXX XXXX in escalations and asked him to email me the proof that I as well as my lender requested and was told he could not provide me proof. I'm glad to be done with this trifling business. All I asked for was a email proving I made my last payment and these idiots act as if I asked for a XXXX from them so childish and ignoarant. I don't trust BOA they are low down dirty dogs. I will neve trust this trifling business again after 30 years they screwed me over and are the ones in the wrong but not even a simple apology just excuses from these XXXX. XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 an employee at the Bank of America XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) added an unknown person to access and remove money from my checking account. {$30000.00} was stolen by an affiliate of this bank employee who used my stored identification at Bank of America to bypass security checks in their own system. I've been contacting Bank of America about this for weeks now, we're now on day XXXX of the fraud investigation ( which I was originally told would likely be resolved within 10 days ) and the case is still being investigated and the money has not yet been returned. The email attachments are the notifications I received about an account being opened in my name. When I contacted the bank, they said they had no record of me opening a new account. Their system was reporting a new person being added to my checking account and sent me an email automatically about this, but there was no indication of that action being taken specifically, the bank fraud team was unable to determine this at the time and the thief was able to later steal the money without BofA being aware.

Consumer Complaint: I overpaid my credit card by {$130.00}. Bank of America ( BoA ) issued me a refund check of {$130.00} on XXXX XXXX XXXX to bring my account balance to XXXX. BoA then closed this account when it sold this credit card entity to XXXXXXXX XXXX Unfortunately, the refund check was not delivered to me until XXXX XXXX due to postal delay. As the check was only valid for 120 days, I was not able to deposit this check. BoA refused to issue me a new check as it said the account had been closed at BoA, they are not able to issue a replacement check on a closed account. The facts are : this dated check was issued by BoA and the account balance was XXXX when the account was transferred to XXXX. BoA alone is financially liable to me. However, BoA tried to evade its financial responsibility by repeatedly asking me to get compensation from XXXX. BoA reasons that my old account is closed at BoA, they have no more responsibility to me. But this check was issued by BoA before my account was closed by BoA.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I was notified of someone trying take money from my business account using XXXX via Bank of America. There were XXXX transactions for {$7400.00} that were sent to a XXXX XXXX at ( XXXX ) XXXX who I was told banks with XXXX without my consent. I declined and replied no over and over again. In the process of trying to stop the transactions from happening I received a call and texts from the " fraud department '' that used both the same exact number as Bank of America and their supposedly secure number to send verification texts which is XXXX. I had received secure and legit texts from that same number in the past so I was tricked into believing it was secure. Even my XXXX XXXX XXXX processed the call as legit and not a scam. I had several agents at the BOA Fraud department confirm that they're the only ones that can use that number ( XXXX ) to send texts which isn't true. Several of them have admitted that scammers have been able to bypass their security measures and I have one of them confirming it on a recording.
