Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/. I received a phone call from what " appeared '' to be bank of America. I answered and was told it was the fraud department from bank of America and they're calling to inform me of fraudulent activity happening on my account. After providing me some information they walked me through some steps and then it said I sent {$2000.00}. I'm still unsure how this happened but it did and I did not intend to send my savings to anyone.I 've reached out to bank of America and they said its nothing they can do about it and that's not right. I was scammed by someone that could impersonate a company as big as bank of America and that should be impossible. I received the call from the exact number bank of America would call from. They should hold some accountability as well for that. I'm reaching out to you because I desperately need assistance in recovering my funds. That was everything I have. All I got. Please help. Consumer Complaint: I received an alert on XXXX, from XXXX that I had a hard hot on my credit report. I was told it was a credit card application for a Bank of America credit card. I had not applied for a new credit card anywhere so I contacted Bank of America credit card services and fraud unit. They informed me that they couldnt see a new credit cards on my account. I contacted my personal banker at Bank of America XX/XX/XXXX and he also stated nothing new was showing up on my account and nothing could be done. I put a freeze on all 3 Credit Reporting Agencies on XX/XX/XXXX. I received an email XX/XX/XXXX informing me that my credit card application with Bank of America was approved and I would receive a welcome package and card within 14 days. I again called Bank of America fraud unit and my personal banker and they said that they could see the new credit card on my account. It was a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with a {$20000.00} credit line. The personal banker told me it had an address from 2 years ago in another State. Bank of America opened this credit card without my consent using my email and a former address. They should be investigated. This is similar to XXXX XXXX years ago. The fraud unit and banker of BofA should have delved into issue further XX/XX/XXXX and maybe it wouldnt have gone to the point of a card in my name, unauthorized, floating around. in Arizona

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 an account was opened in my name for {$12000.00} ( Application Fraud ). The account was with BANK OF AMERICA. The account was closed within 24 hours of being opened. The company advised during the conversation they would honor my request for a copy of the application. I was later informed, I needed to fill out FACT ACT REQUEST FORM. This was sent from a secure fax at a Police Station. I have a confirmed copy of the sent documents which contained ( 4 ) pages. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter stating " we were unable to fullfill your request because we have not received your completed Identity Theft Victim Request form. It appears the Drivers License was not received. I spoke with Supervisor XXXX at Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX. She review 3 documents that were scanned in and claimed my Driver 's License was not included. I asked to email the confirmation for 4 pages and she declined. I asked to visit a local branch to prove my identify and was declined. XXXX promised a call back on XX/XX/XXXX, with information to the lost copy of my driver 's license. She needed to speak with " Assigned Analysis ''. Today XX/XX/XXXX, I was on hold 83 mins to speak with a supervisor. I was provided a supervisor named XXXX, who within 2 mins disconnected the call. Per the application fraud checklist, I am entitled to a copy of the application. I sent in the required documents from a secured Police Department Fax and have confirmation of the pages received. Bank of America has declined my request per FACT Act Provision 151 to supply the application that was used to obtain a credit card in my name, without my permission. Since they will not properly respond, and now have misplaced a copy of my drivers license, I am very concerned about my information. I do not know the person that opened the account in my name and wish to have a copy of this application- which is why I am reaching out for assistance regarding my request. It appears Bank of America has turned a deaf ear to my concerns regarding my identify theft, so I hope it will be taken more seriously with CFPB. Thank you XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: A credit hard inquiry has been fraudulently placed by Bank of America on XX/XX/2023 on my current XXXX credit report. The credit inquiry occurred without my permission due to Identity Theft. When I contacted Bank of America, Bank of America stated they have no business with the inquiry showing up in my XXXX credit report and refused to provide any letter related to the removal of the inquiry. And there is no option for me to dispute the credit inquiry in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I also contacted XXXX via Phone number XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX online chat. But XXXX refused to delete the fraudulent credit inquiry from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I deposited a check {$5200.00} through ATM I was told by a rep funds available XX/XX/2023 then they did a extended hold til XX/XX/2023. On Thursday XX/XX/2023 I went in to the branch and deposited {$4000.00} from same title company bank. I ask the teller how long for a hold and he said 24 hours. The next day the {$4000.00} was in my account. I woke up this morning to a alert that Bank of America took the {$4000.00} back and put that check on hold and now I am negative {$3700.00}. I have items going through and I most likely will be charged fees. I called the customer service and ask why did they take back funds that was already cleared. They said the teller put it in wrong. That is not my fault. So this check not available til XX/XX/2023. I called the title company and they check with the bank and the bank has already paid the funds to Bank of America. First I was lied to about funds being available on XX/XX/XXXX then on another check they put the funds in my account then take back. Both checks are good. I am a real estate agent and those are checks from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I sold 2 homes in one week. If the other bank has paid already both of my checks that I work hard for should be released but most of all they should not take funds back after releasing due to the teller making a mistake which he did not because I saw him take pictures of the front and back of my check. I get direct deposits on the XXXX and XXXX XXXX of the month from my employer and now I had to open another account with another bank to get my direct deposit. Bank of America has put me in a very bad position. They have my money and is going to get extra because I have things going through my account and now it is overdrawn.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America closed my Business Bank account for suspicious activity and they will not give me my money back. The closure was unreasonable because of course I am not doing any type of wire fraud that is ridiculous. They are so called doing a investigation and they need to speed it up they with held over {$180000.00} of my business 's money XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I am disappointed in Bank of America they were unprofessional, rude and disrespectful in how they handled this whole situation. I personally can not stand them and I will be telling as many people as I can not to do business with them. My whole experience with them was a nightmare. I never heard of a bank where you can't wire money, transfer or withdraw funds without going through the third degree like you are a criminal. They make you feel bad for taking money out your own business account. I hope your organization can get my money back as soon as possible because I been waiting on them for over a month thinking they would do the right thing and return my money. Of course, nothing has happened. Nothing right ever happens when it comes to Bank of America. The account ends in XXXX. I look forward to a positive outcome with the return of my money.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/23 i tried to log into my mobile banking and couldnt. I tried several times and finally got into it only to find that all my money was taken out by someone in florida. i then called my bank to immediately get this resolved and get my money back, a total of {$2300.00}. XX/XX/23 i tried to log into my mobile bank account again and had the same trouble loggin in. so i called my bank again to get help, i found out that my new card was being sent to the scammer in florida and not me, then i found out that my bank overdrafted my account to rush me the new card. AND then i found out that my fraud claim wasnt even put through to my bank so they were not even working on the scam to get my money back. at this point i hope that they have been able to do the things that we tried to do over the phone like freeze my account so the scam cant keep taking money and stop all access to my account.

Consumer Complaint: I have been banking with bank of America for 37 years. I was a victim of identity fraud on XX/XX/XXXX I live in XXXX XXXX Ca. I feel bank of America isn't doing their part to protect me as a loyal customer. I've spent over 20 hours on their several 800 numbers and in person 3 times at the bank in XXXX, Ca. I did not authorize the use of my name or personal information or the debt on the account. I've been to the BofA XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXXro talk to the bank mgr. XXXX XXXX and 2 times after to talk to other reps. I was concerned that they would let these fraudulent charges go through, as the bank didn't file a report until the day after on the XXXX. I have never transferred money from my credit cards to my checking in 37 years, nor know how to. There were several transactions from my checking, to other accounts, to XXXX XXXX and XXXX. The bank told me they would give me a temporary credit on XX/XX/XXXX. They never did and closed the case and I had to reopen it. I am not getting any support and not getting any updates. I need some help. I'm XXXX and want to retire soon and these people took over XXXX XXXX out of my account. I need some help. I've already reported this to the FBI and to identity fraud and my credit report, which is a XXXX. Bank of America isn't valuing me as a customer and giving me the run around.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/ I went to my local Bank of America Financial Center to have my new legal name reflected on my checking account, debit card, and credit card. On XXXX I received my new credit card with my legal last name. On XX/XX/ I received my new debit card in the mail but the name on it was my maiden name, not my new last name. I emailed the representative and he immediately called me to make another appointment. I then met my representative on XXXX to fix this error. On XXXX I received a second credit card instead of the debit card. I immediately emailed the representative I've been in contact with, but I haven't had a response yet. It's been two weeks since I this started & I'm still struggling to have my name fully changed.
