Consumer Complaint: Somebody used my information to try to open a credit card in XX/XX/2022 through Bank of America. I caught it and contacted Bank of America to try to settle the dispute. Then they renewed the date on it to XX/XX/2022 instead of removing it and I would really like it removed from my credit report as it was done fraudulently ... .I strive to have good credit I did not make this Hard Inquiry and I need it gone. I did my part and placed a fraud alert on my credit profile. The company Bank of America claimed they would remove it and instead the result was it getting a newer date so it will remain on my report longer. They never placed the statement that it was a fraud attempt. Trying to do it thru XXXX is a joke they want you to call the reporting company back and I don't want to do that in the event that doing so might extend it longer or have them accidentally do another hard inquiry because they are incompetent at their jobs.

Consumer Complaint: I signed up for an XXXX XXXX Bank of America credit card years ago. When I received the card, I set up my account so that there would be 'automatic payments ' deducted from my checking account for the full balance each month. It worked as it should for many years. Then, Bank of America canceled my automatic payments. I did not realize this until after I had missed two billing cycles, so I had accumulated late fees and interest. When I called Bank of America on XX/XX/23, they told me that I had deactivated automatic payments on XX/XX/23. This is not accurate. I did not do this. I requested that they reverse the late fees and accumulated interested. They emailed me on XX/XX/23 to notify me that they declined my request to remove the fees and interest.

Consumer Complaint: Received a phone call from number XXXX claiming they were Bank of America Fraud Dept. They provided a reference number to use in the message they left when I missed their initial call. The message said to call them back at number XXXX. They claimed a Bank Americard Master Card was applied for in my name and wanted to verify that it was me. I informed them that I had not applied for that card. They put me on hold a couple of times to verify things. It all seemed legitimate until the last hold where the female representative came back on and said that the application was cancelled and to check for other applications entered under my name, they needed my social security number and date of birth. At this point I said I was not giving out that information and ended the call. Not sure if this was legitimate or not, but tend to believe that it wasnt due to the request for my SS number.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America was letting recurring monthly charges of XXXX?? go to my credit card. When I received a statement in the mail, I discovered it. I tried to log into my online account but had been locked out several months prior due to suspicious activity. I called and reported fraud. They removed the charges and reimbursed me the XXXX per month I had been paying. I later received a letter that the charges were mine. I disputed it again, and again they said the charges were mine. When I talked to the IT department, trying to get back into my account, I asked him : If these charges were suspicious enough to lock me out of my online account, why were they allowed to continue letting the charges go through every month? He said they were " separate departments. '' While I was on my online account, a new phone number had been added ( during the time I was locked out ) and a new zip code had been added to my address, which was a XXXX XXXX XXXX Bank of America said that it would show in my credit report that I dispute this. I just received a letter from XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I called them and spoke to XXXX XXXX who transferred me to his XXXX, XXXX XXXX, I explained the situation to him, and his reply was there is nothing he can do about it. The total debt is XXXX, and it is not mine

Consumer Complaint: My long running autopay series was cancelled which lead to a late fee ( presumably interest charges ) accruing on my account even though this autopay series has been running for years. My Unlimited Cash Rewards card had an autopay series that was set up when it was originally a Merrill product. In early XXXX of this year I did a product change to the new Unlimited Cash product and my autopay payment series continued to run in XXXX and XXXX successfully. On my due date ( XX/XX/XXXX ) no payment was applied, triggering the late fee etc. The only thing that I can imagine might be related is that I set up autopay for a separate account ( Customized Cash ) on or about XX/XX/XXXX but I don't understand how that would cancel my autopay on my Unlimited Cash ( formerly Merrill+ ) card. I talked with someone on chat who couldn't look up my autopay information. When I asked to be escalated to someone who could help they gave a phone number that dumped me into someone in banking who couldn't access my credit card account. When I asked for a warm handoff to a credit card agent they connected me somehow but then I got disconnected ( no call back ) from that agent partway through the discussion with them.

Consumer Complaint: I have banked with Bank of America for 17 years. I have never filed a claim n them. On XXXX of 2023 My account was hacked and compromised causing me to lose XXXX in transaction via XXXX XXXX so random people that I have no idea who they are and where they live. My car insurance is canceled at the present moment do to not having the money available in my account. I have contacted my internet provider and my cell phone carrier. About the situation and they have changed my hardware and my sim car for my phone. I am still waiting for them to give me a resolution to this matter, and they keep blowing me off. Serval on my neighbors have had. The same issue with this bank. I don't know where else to go and ask for help. Please help me I have a family to support and take care of.

Consumer Complaint: THE COMPANY XXXX IS WHO IS SUBCONTRACTED THROUGH BANK OF AMERICA DOES NOT ADHERE TO ANY OF THE LAWS THAT GIVE OVERSIGHT TO PREPAID CARDS AS SUCH. THEY CONSTANTLY PARTICIPATE IN DEVIOUS UNETHICAL ACTIVITY TO BEND THE LAW IN THEIR FAVOR. AT ONE POINT I ACTUALLY SUBMITTED A SIMILAR COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTIME I SUBMIT A COMPLAINT IT BUYS THEM 60 MORE DAYS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. A FEDERAL JUDGE RECENTLY SANCTIONED THEM TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER, BUT THEY ARE STILL UP TO NO GOOD. MY CARD WAS USED FRAUDULENTLY OVER AND OVER AND WHEN I GOT A HOLD OF IT I HAVE HAD TO BATTLE WITH THEM NUMEROUS TIMES OVER MULTIPLE CLAIMS THAT THEY KEPT OPENING AND CLOSING THROUGHOU6T THE PROCESS OF 6 MONTHS. THEY ARE DOING THIS TO QUITE A FEW PEOPLE ONLINE AS I JOINED A GROUP DISCUSSING. XXXX ) THEY HAVE YET TO CREDIT ME ALL THE FUNDS I AM ENTITLED TO 6 MONTHS LATER. XXXX ) THEY DENIED AND REOPENED A CLAIM 11 TIMES OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS. WHEN I ASKED FOR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION TO ACCOUNT FOR THE FACTUAL BASIS THEY HAD AFTER EACH TIME THE CLAIM WAS CLOSED THEY DID NOT SEND IT. XXXX ) THEY APPLIED 6 TIMES A FRAUD BLOCK ON MY ACCOUNT IN AN ATTEMPT TO EVADE FROM DOING THEIR JOB AND ADHEARING TO REGULATION E. THE FRAUD BLOCK WAS SIMPLY PUT ON THE ACCOUNT SO THEY COULD USE IT AS A TOOL TO CLOSE A CLAIM AND THEN REOPEN IT AND NOT HAVE TO GIVE PROVISIONAL CREDIT FOR THIS CLAIM. XXXX ) THEY DID 33 TRANSFERS ( INTERBANK DEBITS ) WITHOUT SENDING ME DOCUMENTATION SO I CAN ACCOUNT FOR WHAT IS GOING ON. DENYING ME REASONS. XXXX ) THEY CLAIM TO HAVE CLOSED SOME CLAIMS AND GIVEN CREDITS FOR THOSE CLAIMS, BUT THE CREDIT IS NOT APPLIED. THEY ALSO DO THIS SO THEY CAN BUY 30 DAYS TO APPLY FOR A MISSING CREDIT TO THE ACCOUNT. THIS IS ANOTHER DISHONEST PRACTICE. XXXX ) MOST CLAIMS CLOSED WITH NO INVESTIGATION. THE DAY AFTER OR SAME DAY THEY ARE OPENED. THIS IS ONLY SO THEY CAN REOPEN THEM AND NOT PAY THE PROVISIONAL CREDITS THEY ARE LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO GIVE. XXXX ) AFTER 5 MONTHS ONE OF MY CLAIMS HAS BEEN REOPENED AND CLOSED 11 TIMES, AND THEY ARE NOW STATING IT IS A DUPLICATE CLAIM AND THE CREDITS HAVE BEEN APPLIED ( I HAVE XXXX MULTIPLE RECORDED CALLS IN WHICH I SPOKE WITH SUPERVISORS WHO CLOSED OUT ANY DUPLICATE CLAIMS IN THE SYSTEM, YET THEY ARE USING THIS IN AN ATTEMPT TO EVADE FROM PAYING OUT THE CLAIM. XXXX ) I HAD A NON FRAUD CLAIM IN RELATIONS TO A CHARGE. THEY CLOSED IT ON THE XXXX DAY WITH NO FACTUAL BASIS WHATSOEVER. I HAD GIVEN CONTACT INFORMATION SO THEY CAN VALIDATE THE CLAIM YET THEY DENIED ON XXXX DAY STATING NO ERROR OCCURED. WHEN CALLING IN AFTER THE FACT THEY SAY CAN WE REOPEN EVEN THOUGH THEY CLOSED FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN TO JUST DENY AND NOT HAVE TO PROVIDE THE CREDITS. I HAVE A RECORDING WITH THEIR MANAGEMENT WHO SAID " THIS IS BS THEY HAD NO REASON TO DENY THIS CLAIM ''. HE THEN WENT AHEAD TO REOPEN IT AND TELL ME THEY HAVE ANOTHER 45 DAYS TO INVESTIGATE IT. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ANY INTEREST IN ADHEARING TO THE LAWS THAT PROTECT CONSUMERS IN THE UNITED STATES. SOMEONE NEEDS TO AUDIT THIS COMPANY, AND ALL CLAIMS BECAUSE I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS IS HAPPENING TO. WHOEVER HOLDS WHATEVER BANKING THAT AUTHORIZES XXXX TO ACT THIS m. Here is the scam XXXX is a vendor that is using Bank of Americas name and advertising the card as a Bank of America card. They are not getting sanctions against them because they are hiding under the Bank of America umbrella. Bank of America does not take ownership of the illegal banking practices because they are hiding behind the fact that they are using the card behind a vendor relationship. By doing such not either company is getting any resolution to the customer and in additional not following consumer guidelines as directed by the government and getting away doing this because both sides are passing the buck and effectively getting away with doing what they want and not having to deal with the consequences of breaking the laws that protect the consumers. Hence the company is not doing correct dispute practices and getting away with it. Bank of America is telling government its a vendors responsibility and the vendor is masking behind boa saying its boa.. nothing gets resolved no one takes ownership and they continue to do as they wish and break laws that should not be allowed. THEY ALSO, justify illegally denying disputes by saying they have sent supporting documentation that justify denying the claims. ( they dont do any investigation, but they do on the XXXX day deny the claim and use a copy of the account statement with the fraud transactions listed on them ). No investigation, not even a copy of the dispute filed with visa ( its not even initiated by them so no investigation was ever done ) ). This is to blow off the consumer and deny temp credit only to reopen and have indefinite time to investigate and deny claims without issuing credit in 10 days as per regulation E. Please help.
