Consumer Complaint: I reported that my Bank of America credit card, generally used by my son XXXX, was lost or stolen in early XX/XX/2023, with the result that the card was used by an unauthorized, unknown thief to make multiple charges over the course of the month, totaling {$1300.00}. The first fraudulent charge was made around XX/XX/XXXX and they continued throughout the month of XXXX, generally in small amounts of {$20.00} to {$40.00}, resulting in the final amount of {$1300.00}. All or nearly all of the charges were from XXXX, XXXX, where my son had visited in early XXXX but left to meet us in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. He did not report the card as lost until I noticed the fraudulent charges near the end of XXXX, at which point I immediately notified Bank of America. They started a claims and published a " resolution letter '' on XX/XX/XXXX stating that XXXX, unfortunately, were unable to approve your recent claim. Our research included the information you provided with your claim, your account history, the monthly account statements we sent you and if available, information from the merchant, such as a signed receipt or contract. We made this decision because : We confirmed your card was used for the charge ( s ). The chip was read, your PIN was entered, and/or you signed for the merchandise or service, which indicates you or someone you allowed to use your card was present. '' But as I stated, the credit card was lost or stolen as of early XXXX and the charges were not made by anyone who was allowed to use the card.

Consumer Complaint: Charged balance insufficient fees for my account despite having approved funds going into the account. Also charged a random fee for not using my credit card for some reason, despite my utilization of my other credit card with Bank of America, as well as my business with them via my checking account, which is now closed as a protest against BOA 's garbage practices, I refuse to give my business to them and will continue avoid utilizing my BOA credit cards. Every time I call into customer support, I get rude and pushy reps who are trying to sell me products from BOA. I have since switched to utilizing my local credit union, whose services and terms and conditions are much more flexible and human-friendly.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America fraudulently opened a checking account without my knowledge and without my consent. I tried to dispute with BOA in XX/XX/2023. They refused to close it. I filed a complaint with Consumer Finance after seeing that BOA opened accounts without authorization. It was soon determined that the bank account was illegally opened. I requested that this account be closed immediately. Today I received another bank statement in the mail from Bank of America. It's still opened even after Bank of America sent me a letter stating that after an investigation it's been determined the account was opened without my authorization and it was closed.
