It's ID Theft, and I was asked to report it to the Policy department. - XX/XX/XXXX, I filed an FTC report, XXXX, https : //www.identitytheft.gov/ # /account/login - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA Fraud department, XXXX, XXXXo report fraudulent accounts, BOA Claim numbers : XXXX an XXXX. - XX/XX/XXXX, Mailed the required documents to BOA Fraud department. - XX/XX/XXXX, Got the police report with the hidden information about the information of the theft. - XX/XX/XXXX, Received a letter with the investigation results from BOA - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA Fraud Department with XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was asked to fax my questions with the claim numbers to XXXX and your preference of reply. - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA Fraud Department with XXXX, and was asked to fax XXXX to request cases reopen and records. - XX/XX/XXXX, Fax 6 pages to XXXX. - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA, BOA said both cases were closed because they didnt receive the FAX. BOA re-open the cases, and will communicate by mail. - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA with XXXX for BOA Claim numbers : XXXX an XXXX, and BOA said both claims were not re-opened for further investigations. Both accounts were closed. The representative submitted the re-open request to the analysis team and need another 7-10 business days. - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA with XXXX, and was asked to send my request to the Care specialist, XXXX, because she can help me with my request. - Since the specialist can't help, XXXX and I called BOA to request the documents. - XX/XX/XXXX, Received documents with the resolution results from BOA via the wrong email address, XXXX. - XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and I called BOA to request the bank statements, account application form, identity used and power of attorney. - XX/XX/XXXX, Called BOA and was told that XXXX form was requested. I haven't received the requested documents, bank account application forms, identity used, and power of attorney. XXXX and I have called BOA to request documents since XX/XX/XXXX. We called BOA on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, but BOA doesn't give me the documents about account application forms, identity used and power of attorney.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX a credit card was opened in my name without my knowledge or consent. I got an alert from a credit bureau. I contacted Bank Of America and notified them of this and they still mailed out the card to the identity thief and the card was used several times. Continued to get alerts and updates from a credit reporting agency ( experian ) that purchases were continuously being made in my name with this Bank of America issued credit card. I then had to call back to Bank Of America to notify them of this and ask them to shut the card down. After that there were several successful attempts by the perpetrator 's to open credit lines and checking accounts in my name after me notifying Bank Of America by phone several times from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America has a systemic problems when it comes to : 1 ) Determining if a charge is legitimate or not 2 ) Reporting suspected fraudulent charges. BofA has the resource to work with vendors to present the familiar vendor that the customer engage with rather than the upstream or downstream entity that recieves the funds. Likewise, when a charge is challenged, the customer should receive a detail of what was provided rather than the " we have determined this is a valid charge '' that BofA has sent me in the past. The cost to reporting fraud is issuance of a new card and time and tribulation it entails. It also is almost impossible to do. I tried to report it to BoA today XX/XX/23 and wasted 20 minutes listening to BOA phone prompts only to be DISCONNECTED. Among the inane messages I had to listen to before being switched to the fraud line : Your card balance is. Your available credit is... Did you know you can transfer your other balances.. No, I do NOT want to pay an additional 4 % to transfer a balance. We are experiencing higher than normal call volume No, you are NOT. That is the normal volume because I get the same message every time. All associates are helping other customers Your vendor name may not be the same as the business charging you. Check the date for what you might have purchased. As a retired CPA I track EVERYTHING but most don't have my experience nor time to figure this out. I suspect my charge of {$22.00} to XXXX XXXX was fraudulent because a web search revealed many others with the same issues. Most will not pursue this but if 10,000 do not pursue it, Bank of America has just made over {$8800.00} in fees on fraudulent charges that customers don't have the time to deal with.

Consumer Complaint: During the pandemic I was working at XXXX XXXX in XXXX SC I received in the mail a bank of America card for unemployment I told the people at my work wrote a handwritten letter sighed and dated it to send to unemployment thought it was taken care of but got layed off a lil over a year later and there was an account opened in my name bank of America sent the people another card with my name on it to a address that is not mine and I still haven't received unemployment which it's to late now I guess but still want to see what I can do bank of America shouldn't be able to open accounts for any reason without someone's knowledge.. and just a few months ago I received bank of America bank statements with all foreign names a a bunch of XXXX transactions on it the people would put like {$1800.00} through XXXX and then XXXX all the money to 3 or 4 different foreign names and I never opened that account either but they have my address somehow so I got like 2 statements and my unemployment card accidentally I guess

Consumer Complaint: I deposited a check into a new savings account on Saturday. I was told and given a printout that stated that part of the deposit would be available on XX/XX/XXXX and the remaining would be available on XX/XX/XXXX. The " bank '' has now put a hold on the check stating that they are not sure that the bank check I received from the sale of a home will be funded and they are keeping a hold on the check until at least XX/XX/XXXX. I called the bank today to find out what was wrong as I needed the advanced funds to pay bills that are due on XX/XX/XXXX and I will default on my bills if I don't have the promised advanced funds. They said that there was nothing they really could do but were appealing to see if they could get some of the funds released but they will not know about that until Monday. I am desperate to get my money and they are not helpful at all. The fact that they can decide if and when I get the check deposited and then determine that I am not eligible for the advanced funds that were promised. I am a 31 year customer of this organization.
