Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I already submitted a complaint through the CFPB but something else happened afterward. A few days after my complaint was sent to BOA, I got a voicemail on XX/XX/24 from BOA saying I would be getting a {$3500.00} credit back to my Visa card. I saved this message and sent a copy back to BOA to prove what I keep telling them is true. The message said the credit would appear on my account by XX/XX/24 but it never did. BOA is the one who initially made the mistakes in denying my claim in the 1st place because they didn't notice the merchant and 3rd party were different people and they didn't notice my signature had been forged on the electronic receipt from the merchant. BOA has promised to credit my {$3500.00} back twice now so they should keep their word and give me my money back immediately!

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday, XX/XX/2024, an employee at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, MD, double charged me for one meal totaling {$15.00} that was stolen from me. When I asked for a refund the employee claimed he had to take a picture of my credit card # and security code with his personal cell phone and text it to his bosses personal cell phone, because my boss is in his office and it could take a while for him to get here. When I refused that option for security reasons, the employee took my receipt and contacted the food and beverage manager. When the manager finally came to me, the manager wrote down my email, phone number, and the last 4 of my CC and claimed he would fix the charge and contact me. The manager at XXXX XXXX never contacted me and my attempts to reach them have continued to be unsuccessful. I sent this information to Bank of America and they immediately closed my charge back request due to lack of a receipt showing incorrect charges. When I called Bank of America to ask why my request was closed so quickly they told me it was because the XXXX company wanted a receipt that XXXX food vendor didnt provide. This is clearly fraudulent on XXXX part, and Bank of Americas part in protecting their customers when using credit cards for purchases. This is my first charge back request in 14 years as a customer with Bank of America and Im frustrated by this entire process.

Issue: Fees or interest

The amounts are not slightly off but they are totally wrong. For one of my portion in my statement it says that I a XXXX dollar balance transfer when my balance transfer was actually XXXX. My purchase amount for that portion of my system is wrong also, my purchases was XXXX dollars but it says I purchased for XXXX dollars and I was charged interest of that. Bank of America interest System has an issue that really needs to be resolved. It done this one time to me but I called and it was resolved. Now its been 3 times in a row.

Subissue: Trying to communicate with the company to fix an issue related to modification, forbe
Consumer Complaint: I did the forbearance due to XXXX and my XXXX XXXX. Before I got behind I called Bank of America, no help as time went on there was always some hoop I had to jump through. I became really sick XX/XX/XXXX and am still fighting to get better. They didnt care. Before they started foreclosure started I asked for the loan modification documents. It took over XXXX XXXX weeks to get them. They started foreclosure right before they finely sent them to me. Not fair. Im not running from my debt, Ive been trying to get help. Early on I tried to pay a month and a half and they refused it. Again not fair I could have been working on catching up. They contacted me the week of XXXX and gave me 3 days to make 2 house payments. They knew that wasnt possible. Again not being told all of these fees were being added because they didnt send documents in a timely matter. But I have to pay for them taking peoples homes that are trying to work with Bank of America. Someone should be able to help me. I have had my loan since XXXX. The house is in my name alone but they have sent a letter and served my x husband papers. That shows they dont have documents correct and very poor customer service and main office. They are just cold and dont seem to care. I will never recommend Bank of America to anyone.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: I had a Bank of America Credit Card with a credit limit of more than {$60000.00}, but for more than XXXX, or perhaps even XXXX years, I repeatedly received promotional offers in the mail for Cash Advances. I called BoA numerous times, and they agreed to stop mailing me the Cash Advance promotion offers. They ceased mailing them for about XXXX or XXXX years, but then resumed sending them afterward. Left with no other option, I closed my previous credit card with a credit limit of more than {$60000.00}. Unfortunately, over the last XXXX years, they started sending me promotional offers again, this time for Bank of America Visa credit card applications. I have officially opted out of receiving any promotional offers from any credit card company. BoA 's behavior is unprofessional and potentially illegal.
