Consumer Complaint: AMEX is reporting a debt on my credit file that I do not owe. I recently took a look at my credit file and noticed this debt reporting. I have checked with my attorney general and know that this debt is past the statute of limitation in Texas. I have no obligation to pay this debt and AMEX can not come after me regarding this debt. Please remove this immediatley, if not I will have no alternative than to exercise whatever rights and remedies we have under the law to enforce the removal of this debt.

Consumer Complaint: I am an American Express account holder. I recently book a trip through American Express travel. My trip was a failed attempt but the charge on my card is pending online the amount of {$4200.00}. I spoke with several representatives over a 48 hour period trying get the problem resolved. I was told that it would take 3-5 business for the funds to be put back in my account. I Do not understand why a trip was never booked but my card was charged and the funds are pending. Due to an unforeseen circumstance I do not have 3-5 days to wait for my fund to be release. American Express has caused great harm to my mental within the last 48 hours. I would like my funds released and documentation stating that this process is legal.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I opened a XXXX account and after adding my Hilton honors card to my paypal account, XXXX permanently XXXX my account for suspicious activity. Why this happened? What's wrong with my card? What's suspicious about my Amex card? On XX/XX/2021 I updated my phone number in Amex profile. After getting XXXX by XXXX, everytime I try to login to my Amex account, its asking for re-authentication key that is being sent to my old phone number ending in XXXX. Why? Whats going on? On XX/XX/2021 I called Amex and asked to speak to the security team. The operator said the fraud team deals with all security issues and transferred the call to the fraud department. This lady from your security team said my Amex profile has my new number updated but however these issues doesn't fall under her work responsibilities. She said she will transfer the call to the customer service and she will stay on the call until the call reaches the customer service. But then the call went to your usual recorded voice prompts? Why? This shows you people deliberately did something to my card/account and now trying to run away from your responsibilities.

Consumer Complaint: Date : XX/XX/2021 Subject : American Express Platinum Card Promotion CASE ID : XXXX Contact Time : Over 3+ hours via telephone and chat Proof of Fraudulent Promotion : XXXX : XXXX XXXX Applying fore Amex Platinum Card via promotional link on their website : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This is a fraudulent advertisement by AMEX to coerce new applicants XXXX open a line of credit and receive above the customary new account rewards points ( XXXX instead of XXXX ). Once the link to apply is clicked and are approved, the line of credit is opened in your name, a card sent to your address and no prompt for rewards are issued. This requires an individual to call AMEX to address your reward point amount. At this point they will notify you that you are awarded the customary XXXX rewards that has always been in place for this card. There is no XXXX bonus points. Its a complete gimmick to get you to open a line of credit in your name in hope you will inevitably end up using the card. Additionally, you are worse off if trying to cancel. You will have to incur the inital hard credit check and additional hit if you decide to close the line. Moreover, if you decide to inquire the process is as follows : - you must activate the card and start spending toward the XXXX in 6 months minimum spend for the promotional offer immediately. - During a period of 6-7 weeks ( will continuing to spend ) an AMEX team will review the promotional offer and issue you formal approval via mail if you are approved. - None of this is presented in the promotional print nor is there follow through by AMEX. This is a serious scam that should be addressed immediately and made known more publicly.

Consumer Complaint: For the billing cycle ending XX/XX/2021, American Express made a change to the billing st atement that is misleading and intended to inadvertently drive consumers to use the Pay Over Time feature, resulting in unexpected interest charges. As a result of changes, new charges over {$100.00} are no longer displayed under the " Pay in Full '' amount shown on the billing statement. Therefore, payin g the " Pay in Full '' amount now results in interest charges being assessed. The true balance has been moved to lower prominence on the bill, including online bill pay options. As a result of this change, I ended up with {$180.00} in interest. Although American Express ultimately waived and reversed those interest charges, this is a misleading change requiring communication with a representative ( in which they push additional offers ) and I do not believe American Express provided a clear notice to customers about this change.
