Consumer Complaint: The company sent multiple mailers for their new business checking account. Mailers indicate stipulations for earning XXXX reward points for qualifying transactions, which I had plenty of. The company 's advertisement is very misleading, as the customer service rep later advised that it is only " online transactions, '' which is not the terminology used by the company. AMEX should revise its marketing material, and if it's only for online transactions, it should directly indicate this. The account holder was given a political answer to a simple concern. Additional actions will be taken if this language needs to be changed to reflect simply what is being asked of a new account member.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) is a process server that was hired in my case American Express National Bank v. XXXX XXXX XXXX to legally serve me with a lawsuit. On XX/XX/2022, I was contacted by my sister. She informed me that XXXX XXXX XXXX went to my fathers house in XXXX XXXX, FL. According to my dad and my sister, XXXX was attempting to serve a warrant regarding a debt with American Express. I have attached a picture of a text message that was sent to me by my sister. I asked my sister if she meant lawsuit instead of warrant. She said no- the person attempting to serve the papers to my father at the incorrect address referred to the papers as a warrant ( inferring an arrest or legal issues with the law ). In addition, it bothers me that XXXX XXXX XXXX gave my father specific information regarding my debt, including the amount owed and that the debt is due to American Express. This is legally problematic due to several issues. ( 1 ) XXXX XXXX XXXX members of my debt, who it is owed to, and the amount owed. ( 2 ) The representative of XXXX that contacted my father, XXXX XXXX, referred to the lawsuit as a 'warrant ' to my father, possibly implying that I was in some sort of legal trouble with police. ( 3 ) My father, the person to whom the process server spoke to at his home, is my abuser. My abusive father now knows about my debt. ( 4 ) I have mental issues including XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX related to my family and my father. This incident, including having the incident reported to me by my abusive family, has caused me significant problems with my mental disorders. I had to temporarily increase my medication, and I had to make an emergency mental health appointment. Even typing about this incident and having to relive it in my head is causing me additional mental anguish and anxiety.

Consumer Complaint: For decades. Every single credit card company has been scamming the users of international purchases. When you make an international purchase you are quoted a charge which is the exchange rate that moment, but its marked pending for usually three days. During those three days if the dollar falls they reassess the charge marking up the product some secret amount. When the dollar gets stronger they dont change the charge and give the benefit to the card user. This process is reaping billions in profits to the credit card company each year and I believe is quite unfair to all consumers. We should be able to expect the charge when made will remain the charge on the statement and not make the consumer responsible for these hidden charges by the banking industry. In fact all these banks advertise no exchange fee or international charges. But in reality they are doing so by manipulating the final price days after the charge. I am not sure who to present this fraud on the people too. So I am starting with you.

Consumer Complaint: American Express solicited my business, asking me to apply for a new credit card in XXXX, XXXX ; Blue Cash Preferred * from American Express. The American Express solicitation identified a {$300.00} credit promotional offer if at least {$3000.00} is spent on the card in 6 months. I applied. American Express pulled a new credit report and opened a new banking account for the credit card. I spent {$3000.00} within 4 months. Called American Express support multiple times and they confirmed my eligibility for the {$300.00} statement credit. After 7 months and no {$300.00} promotional credit a called again. I was assured that I had satisfied the terms of the promotional offer on XX/XX/XXXX, but was told the 'back office ' pulled back the {$300.00} credit because they felt I was not a new customer. I have had American Express credit cards in the past, but not within the last 3 years. I feel that the promotional offer was not made in good faith. American Express benefited from my business over 7 months, reaping a high percentage from my purchases. I paid all balances on time. I feel that American Express fraudulently pulled a new Credit Report. If they feel that I am not a 'new customer ' why inquire about my credit? Lesson learned is that you can not trust American Express promotional offers.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for the American Express XXXX card, I was denied due to my credit report. I know that credit reporting is voluntary according to CFPB 3.1.1 Furnisher Incentives and Disincentives. This was a private transaction and involuntary information was used to determine eligibility. I never provided written consent for the information that was used to be furnished on my consumer report. Therefore I was discriminated against by American Express

Consumer Complaint: I have three American Express cards with you I have a Delta card I have the Hilton card and I have I think its called an every day card Ive been a customer for mini mini years a good customer but When I called to see about lowering my interest rate on my accounts, Im treated, so Im trying to steal money from the bank. Or the monies coming out of the agents pocket. I have good credit. Ive been an excellent customer. Youve made plenty of money off me over the years. I dont understand why banks have to be so greedy you make billions and profit but the average guy whos just trying to get by I easily work 50 hours a week I take care of my kids. I always pay all of my bills on time but I dont understand why the bank cant just cut me a little slack here. Inflation is out of control and thats not your fault but its made everything so much more expensive, and when I call and I asked to see if you can lower the interest rate even if you lowered it just temporarily, that would be a help. Please explain to me why you have to be so greedy, and so unwilling to help the every day guy out here just trying to get by, why cant you lower my interest-rate? I mean is it really going to affect your bottom line that much youre still going to make billions and profit have some compassion put yourself in my shoes.
