Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem while selling or giving up the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: My lease ended at the ended of XXXX. I called the leasing company ( Ally Financial ) and stated that I would be buying purchasing the vehicle. I knew that it may take a bit longer than I suspected, so I made another payment on the vehicle so I wouldn't receive a late payment on my credit report. I eventually had a change of heart on purchasing the vehicle, but need to get some repairs done on the truck before I turned it in. I knew this would take more time so I made another payment plus interest to ensure i did not receive a late payment. In XXXX I received a late payment XX/XX/12 XXXX. When i called they said I had credit on my account that could not be applied to the payment. I did not understand how you could be late on a payment with a credit on your account.

Consumer Complaint: I currently lease my car through Ally Auto. This is the third time I have had problems with them reporting false/inaccurate information regarding my account to all of the credit reporting agencies. I honestly dont know how this company continuously gets away with this. Its fraud. It affects peoples credit score it is not okay. During COVID-19 I had a similar issue and it took months to get fixed, I couldnt even speak to a manager or anyone who could help me from Ally for MONTHS! Recently I filed a dispute on my Ally account status on my XXXX credit report. Back in XXXX I filed for chapter XXXX bankruptcy however my car lease with Ally was not included in this. Both myself and my attorney have both spoke to and sent correspondence with this information to Ally Auto. Not only that, I have continued to make my monthly car payments and am good standing with Ally. They have reported that my account was closed and my lease was included in the bankruptcy which is false information. After the dispute they then changed it to my account status is in forbearance or deferred and I havent made a payment since XXXX. Again this is false.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: I have a traditional IRA savings account at Ally Bank. I have been trying to transfer some of these funds to a traditional IRA at another institution for weeks. Ally personnel have been consistently disorganized, kept poor records of my previous conversations with other Ally personnel, unhelpful and inconsistent in their instructions regarding transfer instructions, and, at times, overtly obstructive. Multiple calls with them have been placed on extended ( >30 min ) holds after initial verification of my identity and some disconnected without warning. With assistance from the other institution, I have sent several written requests for this transfer, including most recently, an " ink signed '' version sent overnight to the address Ally provided. They still have not transferred the funds!

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: Prior to making my payment on XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Ally Bank. I was transferring the loan to my credit union for a lower interest rate and the due date was coming on XX/XX/XXXX, when they didnt receive the payoff they advised me to go ahead and make a monthly payment to avoid a late fee. I made my payment on XX/XX/XXXX and my credit union paid off my auto loan ending in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Ally bank owes me {$1000.00} refund. My first call to Ally was on XX/XX/XXXX I was advised that my check was mailed that day, but due to a storm in Louisiana, my check could be delayed in the mail by up to 2 weeks. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX when I didnt receive my refund and was advised that the refund was still pending because it was over {$1000.00}, it needed some type of approval. The advisor I spoke to was going to escalate and have someone give me a call back. That never happened so I called back again on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to a advisor and then was transferred to XXXX on the customer solution team. XXXX also saw the refund pending and supposedly sent an email and promised me a call back on XXXX. No one ever called me. So on XX/XX/XXXX I called and spoke to XXXX and XXXX XXXX id number XXXX ). I was advised it could take 30-45 days for a refund. I was promised a call back with a XXXX XXXX tracking number for my refund check. Now today XX/XX/XXXX I called and talked to XXXX ( id XXXX ) and XXXX XXXX id XXXX ). Now XXXX tells me they have a man-power issue and refunds can take 55 days. I requested his XXXX and was placed on hold for an hour and never talked to anyone. I was transferred to an automated survey which I completed and advised that I was very dissatisfied. I have spent countless hours on the phone with numerous agents trying to get a refund that I owed. Since they record their calls, I would love for someone to go back and review all of the interactions on my account. You better believe if this was reversed ; I owed Ally money, they would be charging me fees and interest until they got their money!! But they could care less if their customer needs the money Ally owes. I guess next time I call they will tell me the refund processing time is 75 days??
