Consumer Complaint: USAA bank offers fixed rate CDs. When I purchased my CD, I was told by the representative that I could speak to the service department and have the CD changed so that it would not automatically renew. When I contacted the service department on XX/XX/2023, they indicated that I could not change the CD to not automatically renew until the 10-day grace period. Additionally, documents on their website at https : //www.usaa.com/inet/wc/advice-finances-everything-to-know-about-cds say the following : " When your CD matures, or the term ends, you receive your deposited money plus the interest you earned along the wayunless you decide to renew the CD for another term. You also have the option of reinvesting your money into a new CD with a different term. '' This is apparently false, instead it should read : When your CD matures, or the term ends, you WIL NOT receive your deposited money plus the interest you earned along the wayunless you decide to NOT renew the CD for another term. Your CD WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY SET UP TO REINVEST your money into a new CD with a different term. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO REINVEST, YOU MUST LET USAA KNOW WITHIN THE 10-DAY GRACE PERIOD PRIOR TO THE RENEWAL DATE.

Consumer Complaint: USAA credit card banking lied to me about the card benefits when I opened the credit card. When I closed the credit card they will not give me the rewards I earned on the card. I am being punished for closing a credit card that was sold to me based on a lie. I called in asking what credit card offers were available to me because I was looking for a 0 % on purchases cards. I had a conversation were I explained multiple times why I wanted a 0 % on purchases, not balance transfers. The USAA representative told me the card was 0 % for both transfers and balance transfers. I used the card for travel and when I returned called to find the first due date only to find out I was lied to that the credit card was 0 % on purchases. I paid the full amount during that phone call and closed the account. Now I am being told I can not redeem the {$45.00} in rewards due to me for using the credit card.

Consumer Complaint: I received a call from USAA on XX/XX/2023. The caller ID said USAA and the number calling was their main number ( XXXX ). I was told someone was trying to access my accounts. They asked if I had made these purchases at a XXXX and XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CA totaling around {$900.00}. They asked me to log into my account to verify if these charges were on my account and to verify if there were any other unauthorized payments made. They asked to confirm my pin with them and then thats when I received an alert saying there was a wire transfer initiated. They alert was from the USAA automated text response system. He told me that someone was trying to wire transfer {$9600.00} from my account. He said I should be receiving a 6 digit pin and to verify the pin with him. He said he was going to start the investigation and recall the funds. After a short hold he said another transaction for {$8300.00} was happening and asked if I authorized it and if I knew the person ( XXXX XXXX ). I said no and he said I will get a security pin texted to me and to verify that with them. He had asked for me to go into the wire transfer history to see if his recall had stopped the transfer or if the transfer was completed but I had bad service and it wasnt loading. After a while I just hung up and called USAA under the same number ( XXXX ) and told them what had happened and USAA said that that wasnt them and that scammers most likely spoofed their phone number. That is when the real USAA started an investigation and recall on the transfers.

Consumer Complaint: I was pre approved of a {$200000.00} VA home loan on XX/XX/2023. XX/XX/2023 I payed for the inspection {$400.00}, earnest money {$1200.00}. XX/XX/2023 I payed {$670.00} for an appraisal. During the whole process they kept changing my loan team around I was given multiple agents that Handled my loan documents. Apparently there was a team that got involved and started to not approve mortgage loans because USAA had made some mistakes giving out these pre qualifying numbers. The whole process was very stressful and un organized. All for nothing in the end.

Consumer Complaint: Hackers accessed the XXXX account that is part of my USAA account. Someone deposited {$240.00} into my account and immediately withdrew it. Shortly afterwards, XXXX removed {$500.00} and {$200.00} from my checking account and sent the payments to someone I do not know. I never authorized the payments. However, USAA has denied my claim. They say the problem is with XXXX not USAA. However, I only have XXXX through the USAA app, so I disagree. The sum is close to {$750.00}. It may be an insignificant sum to some people, but quite a large amount of money to us. To say I was disappointed in USAA would be an understatement.

Consumer Complaint: On Sunday XX/XX/23 I tried to log into my bank account app. It showed a screen that said I needed to fill out this review or I would have my account restricted or closed. When I went to fill it out they are asking me very personal questions about my cash flow in and out of the bank. I have banked with them for 20 years and have never been asked these questions. I refused to answer and called them on Monday XX/XX/23. She told me if I don't answer my account will have the debit card frozen and the account will be closed. She refused to tell me why they want such specific information.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a member of USAA for at least 10 years and have had a credit card through them for some time. The primary reason I have this credit card is to take advantage of their rewards and 0 % transfer deals they offer from time to time. Apparently they don't like this as they have caused me a few heart aches with their dirty little business XXXX. they like to pull from time to time. For example, I used the card and took advantage of a balance transfer deal they offered in XX/XX/22, then in XX/XX/22 I noticed there was a charge of {$100.00} posted to my account that I didn't make. I called their customer service line to dispute this charge. As you probably know, when you do these transfer deals the credit card company 's that offer them always have some conveluted/confusing system of applying payments especially when you charge things above and beyond the balance transfer- in other words when you do these dont charge anything until the balance of the balance transfer is paid off. The way I was treated when this dispute was brought up was telling, they gave me a run around didn't want to credit etc ... after much hassel I finally got the credit and all was good, but not without a lot of hassel from USAA. So, fast forward a few months and now these corporate XXXX want me to provide information when I log into my account on line that was provided when I opened the account and I have not responded. They have now restricted my on-line capability pretty much nothing because of my not responding. I have never missed a payment nor gone over my credit limit or anything like that they are simply flexing their muscles to make my life miserable because I take full advantage of their rewards and balance transfer offers- they are nothing but corporate XXXX.
