Consumer Complaint: I took on a covid forbearance on a loan last year. When my forbearance was ending I applied for a deferral of the payment to the end of the loan. Suntrust claimed they never received this application. I started making payments on my loan in XXXX of XXXX after talking to them on the phone about my new plan. They said multiple times that they were so understaffed that they had no idea when my deferral application would be processed. I continued to make payments per the agreement I signed up for and verbally discussed with Suntrust. XXXX comes after I make two payments. They start a foreclosure process. I'm charged for a XXXX valuation because the systems at the bank where the foreclosure starts were not talking to the covid deferral and forbearance departments. I talk to someone again about these charges and they say again that they are so far behind that they have no idea when my paperwork for my deferral application will be processed. XXXX comes. I have now made 3 payments on my loan. I get a late fee because the systems still aren't talking to each other. I call and get this reversed and plead to the representative to make sure there is nothing damaging to my credit as a result of their misplaced paperwork and backlog that every other bank seems to be working through without the problems that Suntrust/BBT now Truist has. I am told that my application has been escalated and it might be 3-6 weeks before it is approved. I can not imagine what an application that wasn't escalated would take. Here comes XXXX. I get a negative credit report alert from a credit monitoring service. I am dinged for a late payment after making 4 on-time payments. I call again. I am told that there is nothing Suntrust/BBT now Truist can do immediately and they are going to look into this sometime within the next 30 days. My credit score has dropped 100 points and someone might do something about it in the next month. This has been escalated again, but through a new process because Suntrust/BBT now Truist realized their old escalation process was completely ineffective and was damaging to their customers.

Issue: Trouble during payment process

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Good morning, I have had a mortgage at Suntrust and at the beginning of XXXX, I change my mortgage to a different bank. On XXXX Suntrust paid my taxes for my house. I called them to stop the process but they told me it is impossible to stop at this type. On my tax bill, I can see that the Suntrust payment was rejected ( XXXX $ paid ) on XXXX XX/XX/11. I have contacted Suntrust to refund me for my money. I received multiple information, that the money will be refunded at the beginning of XXXX, then in XXXX and XXXX. Today, I was told by Suntrust that the money was the return on XX/XX/XXXX and I need to wait another 30 days to start processing the return. At this point, I have not to trust at all, since information like that was refer to me already multiple times. Anyway, I don't have money since XXXX last year, I don't see a resolution to my situation. I feel hopeless and injustice, given the amount of time that my money has been withheld for so long time.

Consumer Complaint: Someone stole a blank check from my mothers and my checking account. Then wrote it out and forged her signature. The bank cashed it for {$450.00}. Then at another location, they tried to cash a fraudulent check with our same account number. It was then discovered that the one the first location had already cashed, shouldnt have been. We disputed it, filed a police report and now today the fraud department of the bank called and said they wouldnt cover the check, because we didnt keep the check safe. The checkbook was in my mothers purse. The bank has a picture of this person and his ID number. The police are looking into this further but I have to do a lot of leg work to get this done. They know it forged, but still wont cover the check.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees

Consumer Complaint: I had set up a checking account with Suntrust back when my mortgage was through Suntrust. After refinancing with a different bank, I withdrew the remaining funds in my Suntrust checking account back to my main account with XXXX XXXX. Unbeknownst to me, Suntrust was using a third party payment processor that tacked on a {$3.00} fee to my withdrawal, thus bringing me to - {$3.00}. Suntrust did nothing to announce this fee. Moreover, it is beyond me why they need a third party vendor when they are a bank. I couldn't put more money back in to my account without hitting the minimum transfer of {$10.00}. And if I wanted to close the account, which I absolutely do at this point, I would again have to eat a {$3.00} fee from this hidden vendor. I called their representative, they said they would have to wait for the overdraft fee to process in order to waive anything. So I waited and called today. I've been given the runaround by their representatives for almost an hour. I'm now up to a {$42.00} fee to access my money. This is absurd and predatory.

In review of the numerous hard copy disputes on my credit report, I am requesting only the proper protocol to be adhered to in order to maintain the legitimacy of the hard inquiry, that includes an actual name of the person involved with any company that pulled a hard review of my credit history, but in addition a copy of the actual report ascertained from such a review. If these items can not be produced, then by deductive reasoning the hard inquiry is not 100 % legitimate. Accordingly, under review of XXXX. Permissible purposes of consumer reports [ XXXX XXXX. Issue: Trouble during payment process

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/21, I closed on a refinance of my loan, resulting in a payoff of the original mortgage held by SunTrust. The loan funded and paid more than what was owed on the loan balance, as confirmed by SunTrust 's website on XX/XX/21. Every three days following that pay off, I have attempted to contact SunTrust by phone or by their web messaging to obtain a refund of the over payment and my escrow balances. On two occasions, most recently on XX/XX/21, I reached a call center rep only to be hung up on and forced to start over after hold times of 30 minutes. The branch offices tell me they can not help, and I have no means to obtain my money owed by the bank, or even an online site to view the balances as they remove the loan from the site as soon as it is paid off. Please help me by inspiring a response to my request for repayment.

Issue: Getting a credit card

Subissue: Delay in processing application

Consumer Complaint: I opened a business account at BB & T. In the process of opening the business account, I get an alert on my XXXX credit monitoring that my credit was pulled. I asked the banking associate why my credit was pulled. She told me the credit was pulled soft to open the account. I told her, it was not a soft pull that i relieved a hard inquiry pull on my report. Two days later I get a second credit pull on my report. The banker says she doesn't see why it was pulled. When she did her internal investigation, she said, they did pull my credit and they were not willing to remove it. This is a terrible banking practice. Is this the same as what XXXX XXXX was doing years ago? Please investigate this immediately. The credit pulls were on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX.
