Consumer Complaint: The purpose of my complaint is to gain assistance with retrieving my funds in the amount of {$3300.00} that is currently being held by SunTrust Bank also known as Truist Financial. I hired a company named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to resurface my kitchen cabinets. On XX/XX/2021, wrote a check in the amount of {$3300.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to get the project started. After payment, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX informed me SunTrust notified them informing them that some sort of fraud activity occurred and as a result, the check I wrote of {$3300.00} would not be deposited into their bank account. However, the funds were already withdrawn from my XXXX XXXX account. As I was confused about what was taking place, I visited SunTrust bank to receive clarity and ask what can be done to rectify the issue, as well as retrieve my funds. While there, SunTrust advised me that they will research the matter and that I will receive a phone call advising me of the next steps. The phone call came and there was still no resolution. As I was tired of waiting, I emailed the CEO, XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2021 and a person by the name of XXXX contacted me to assist. XXXX advised me that in order to resolve this issue, I would need to visit my bank, XXXX XXXX, and fill out a document entitled Whole Harmless. I did what was requested and was unsuccessful as XXXX XXXX required something specific from SunTrust, which I was not privy to. I phoned XXXX to advise of the situation and have yet to receive a response. I sent a follow-up email to XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2021 and to this date, no communication has been received. At this point, I am beyond frustrated and appalled that a company like SunTrust would steal money from people and think that they will get away with it. I am attaching all email correspondence and the front/back copy of my check to support this claim. Thank you for your assistance.

Consumer Complaint: I went to this dealership with my father when he was shopping for a car in 2014. He had some health issues which caused him to pay some of his bills late. It affected his credit of course so the salesperson told him that if i signed on to the loan it would help him get the car. I was told it would not affect my credit because it was only a bank reference. I wasn't sure what that meant exactly but if it wasn't going to affect my credit i was okay with it. A couple of years later i was attempting to sign up for a XXXX account and i was told that it couldn't be done because I had a repossession on my credit report. I called my father who i hadn't spoke to for about 18 months and he told me that his health issues caused the car to get repossessed. I called the dealership to ask why i had this information on my credit and was told that I was put on as a co-signer and it wasn't their problem anymore. I explained what was said to me at the time about it just being a bank reference and they said that, that salesperson didn't work there anymore. I was told to call the finance company if I had a complaint to make. I called the original finance company and they said they sold the debt to the company that holds it now. I tried to come to some agreement with this debt collector but I failed. I don't know what else to do about this.

Consumer Complaint: BB & T Mortgage is authorized to direct debit mortgage payments since XXXX. On or about XXXX, it started requiring proof of property insurance or insurance would be purchased on borrower 's behalf from an insurance company of its choosing. Rates offered were twice as those available to borrowers. Each year I've had to submit proof of insurance. Last year in XX/XX/XXXX, BB & T started debiting monthly amounts to pay for insurance despite the fact that proof of insurance was submitted. On or about XXXX, XXXX, I received a letter that informed me that since XX/XX/XXXX, BB & T was purchasing and directly drawing from my account the insurance payments. I called, attempted to rectify the issue on the phone. While on the phone I offered to email the insurance information. The Insurance department claimed when I offered to email the insurance information that the company does not offer that department email addresses. Issue was escalated and two emails were offered. While on the phone emails were sent but the emails bounced back as undeliverables. With the gentleman on the phone I proceeded to sign in to BB & T 's portal and dowloaded the information requested. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from BB & T, apparently from a different department, informing me that escrow account projections were going to be increased due to BB & T purchasing insurance on my behalf for next year. Two phone calls were placed to the phone number provided on the letter. BB & T was unable to provide any information, attempted to transfer me back to the insurance department from a month ago. As a result, I requested that my direct debit authorization be revoked and BB & T has agreed to do so. I pleaded for assistance so that BB & T could continue to receive timely mortgage payments and that I do not in a month or two receive correspondence from BB & T telling me that I defaulted on my loan. The folks at BB & T are not able to resolve these simple issues due to a silo approach of conducting business. I explained that unfortunately I did not have the time to spend hours on the phone rectifying what where BB & T 's business practices. BB & T offered the phone number of the insurance department, the department I mentioned I spoke to a month ago, and I declined the offer. I have explained that I'm hoping someone calls to address the issue since the mortgage would not be paid until such time as someone is able to address these issues. ( BB & T currently owes me approximately {$2600.00} for last year 's insurance it purchased on my behalf ). I was simply threatened with a reminder that my credit would be ruined. BB & T shifts its responsibility over to borrowers and makes its problem the borrowers problem. It then conveniently benefits financially from selling insurance products to borrowers who don't need the insurance at twice the market rate. It then with little to no information to the borrowers debits borrowers bank accounts. When the borrowers call, it makes the process time consuming, unwieldy, creating the appearance that it must be financially benefitting, directly or indirectly, from the sale of insurance products that are not needed by borrowers.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, a person or persons unknown appeared in the SunTrust ( now Truist ) branch on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. in XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, where our accounts are ( we live in XXXX and spend winter months in XXXX ) and fraudulently withdrew {$10000.00} in XXXX transactions. On XX/XX/2021, XXXX XXXX sent an email stating that " we are in the final stage of approving your claim '' and that the case was " nearing full resolution. '' These statements proved to be false, as we never heard anything further from XXXX XXXX, despite follow up email. On XX/XX/2021, I sent a XXXX XXXX letter, delivered the following day, to the CEO of Truist, XXXX XXXX XXXX and the XXXX XXXX XXXX, setting forth our claim and our frustrations. On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from XXXX XXXX ( phonetic? ) of Truist, stating that XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX had received my letter and the matter would be " escalated '' and apologizing for how we had been treated. Consumer Complaint: From XX/XX/XXXX, I called the company numerous times about the amount of the car and the terms. The first thing that happened was covid. I bought the car at the end of XXXX or beginning of XXXX. Then, covid happened and I lost my job before the 1st payment was even due.. I called about returning the car because I couldn't afford it now. The company told me I couldn't return the car but I can do a covid 6 month paperwork to not have payments. I told them I know I'm still not going to be able to afford it. They told me I can sign the paper or let the car be repossessed. In XX/XX/XXXX, after the 6 months was over I started making payments I couldn't afford. I was still unemployed. Then, the interest rate was high so I said I wanted to refinance so I can get out of this loan. I didn't see any other way out. I refinaced the car XX/XX/XXXX. They received the 10 day payment in the 10 days to covered the $ XXXX amount. However, the company didn't cash the check in time. Which then left a balance of {$26.00}. I called and talked to a representative, which explained the situation to me. I told her I have proof of when it was received and cashed. She declined to remove the amount. Then, I talked to a representative at my bank that then at that time send another check for the {$26.00} balance. I called again a representative said they cashed and received it on XX/XX/XXXX. However, the company still reports I owe them a balance. They aren't helpful when you call to handle the situation. I don't know what to do anymore.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: Team- I have been a loyal client of BB & T for over XXXX plus years and on XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for the new TRUIST XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card with an application ID XXXX. Received a letter that the application was received on XX/XX/XXXX and that I would have an answer in ten days. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from TRUIST that a CREDIT SCORE from XXXX could not be obtained. I contacted XXXX and there is nothing wrong with my credit report. I had this EXACT same problem with BB & T on XX/XX/XXXX whereby they had to contact XXXX. They fixed the problem, obtained the score and approved the credit card. Only after I had to write to the President XXXX XXXX for assistance. This is the SAME letter that I received from BB & T in XXXX. I guess they are using the same system after the merger with SunTrust Bank. On XX/XX/XXXX after over XXXX hours on hold, I finally spoke with a representative in the credit card department that was clueless. He did not understand the problem and I asked to have my call elevated to a supervisor named XXXX who said she understood the problem was a " feed '' from XXXX and she would elevate it to the XXXX Offices for resolution. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was asked to fill out a survey on my recent call to the credit card department and I gave them the worst possible score and wrote a complaint that no one could help me. On XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I received a calls from XXXX from SUNTRUST BANK who said she was following up on my poor service. She called twice and could not help me. She said that she would elevate to Executive Offices to help me. NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT TO ME. Today, I tried to call Credit Card services and the wait time was well over an hour so I tried the " chat function '' on the website. IT Doesn't WORK. It tells you to call in for help? What is the purpose of the chat function? Try it. Bottom line. I would like to have my application reconsidered and approved for the new TRUIST XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card. Can someone please help me? I have talked to 5 different people and NO ONE SEEMS to understand the problem. XXXX XXXX phone : XXXX e-mail : XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have been with suntrust Bank since XXXX years old. I have spoken as well as met with the branch manager on numerous occasions. I am getting charged excessive fees. This year to date I have {$1500.00} of overdraft fees and {$820.00} of returned item fees. I went through an horrific divorce and medical issues. It appears instead of personal banking a logarithmic formula decides what is paid. I have an automatic check deposit on the XXXX of every month which would cover any fees. The bank knows this but they still will not work with me. This is the Suntrust XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX Tn. I was unable to get an Rx I needed as well as pay for an eye exam.
