Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: In 2017 i reported some transactions on my account as a fraud because weren't made by me. After a longtime in communication with the bank, they send me a letter saying the balance were resolved in my favor, which I wasn't supposed to pay or be responsible because they said a credit was applied on the account for the balance. But for some reason the collection department still keep making daily calls, and sending invoice letters requesting the payment. In a call they say one department is independent of the other and the i need to settle the balance, which like i said, i have a letter from them saying it was resolved on my favor after they made the investigation.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Account opened as a result of fraud
Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/2021, I became a victim of identity theft when an account was opened at TD Bank. I received a written notification in the mail that the account was opened. I subsequently visited the nearest TD branch to have the account closed ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX ) on or about XX/XX/2021. Thereafter I received a statement and decided to visit the branch again. On XX/XX/2021, I visited the location for a second time because of my concern. The account was opened with my personal details and I wanted to know what that information was. XXXX at the branch helped me and verified my identity using my driver 's license. I requested the application to review what information was collected but I was told by XXXX, who called TD 's Fraud line, at the XXXX XXXX location that because the account was opened online they would not share the account opening information with me. XXXX did let me know to open an account online, TD requires the customer name, ssn, address, and dob. The customer then needs to visit a branch to fund the account and provide ID and a signature card. After XXXX reviewed the account she said there was no signature card available for the account. She also said the account was likely funded electronically and not at a branch. It's distressing enough to be a victim of identity but it doesn't seem TD was vigilant enough and it was concerning that the application wasn't shared with me and that there was no signature card on file.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: To Whom it May Concern : I am refinancing my home which has an existing HELOC loan associated with the mortgage. Both the original mortgage and HELOC are via TD Bank. I am refinancing through Key Bank and chose to subordinate the TD HELOC loan. We now are approaching 90 days after submission of the subordination request without resolution. A timeline of events is outlined in a recent email sent by the loan attorney to TD bank below. The email string is attached as a PDF. I understand there is a large number of loans being refinanced and great demand on subordination process. However, I was led to believe by TD Bank that this process would take about 30 days. We have submitted all requested documents with <24 hour turn around. The customer service at TD bank has been very cordial and apologetic. The subordination division is only accessible via email, even for TD Bank customer service. Notably, my appraisal expired, costing me {$2400.00}. My rate lock has also expired. Collectively, TD Banks ( in ) action is costing me significant amount of money over the life of the loan. My loan officers tell me that a typical subordination, even in todays refinance environment, has taken about 15 days. Best, XXXX XXXX Account, AMCB Subordinations XXXX ; XXXX ; XXXX XXXX, I am in receipt of your email but I would like to, again, ask that you prioritize the processing of this subordination request that has been outstanding since XXXX. I have reached out to your department multiple times for updates without any response. I have summarized the timeline of the pertinent communications/events below : XXXXSubordination Packet sent via email and XXXX overnight with documents requested on the TD checklist form- was told it could take 30 days to process XXXX received a request for 2 additional items that were not required on the TD checklist : 1 ) payoff statement for 1st mortgage and 2 ) verification of tax bill payment. I promptly ordered a payoff and sent these 2 items back to the Subordination Dept within 24 hours ( on XX/XX/XXXX ) XXXX received an email from the Subordination Dept advising the file was being transferred to underwriting and to allow 7-10 business days XXXX received a request for a Preliminary CD ( another item that was not requested on the TD Checklist ) and sent this back to the Subordination Dept on the same day ( XX/XX/XXXX ) XXXX received an email confirming receipt of the missing document which I assume refers to the Preliminary CD requested ( and sent ) on XX/XX/XXXX with yet another request to allow 7-10 business days processing. ( see email below ) We are now nearing 90 days of processing without any progress. In my 15 years of practice, I have never seen a subordination request take this long. I have copied the borrower and loan officer on this email as I expect they will also be reaching out to management about the handling of this matter. In the meantime, please let me know as soon as possible if there is ANYTHING else you need to get this subordination request granted as soon as possible. Thank you, XXXX

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: I initially had made a purchase from XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. Upon getting the products there were issues, so I requested a return label from XXXX XXXX, which they provided via email. I returned the products and received a refund without issue. About a month later XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX, I received a charge to my checking account for the exact amount of the original order, after having already returned the products. I reached out to XXXX XXXX to see what this charge was for, and after speaking to multiple levels of management, no one was able to figure out what it was, or even see the charge on their end. I was advised to reach out to my bank ( TD Bank ) and told that they would be able to resolve it. I reached out to TD customer service, and filed multiple claims on this charge that took my account well into the negative. One after another, they were all getting denied and TD told me to contact XXXX XXXX to resolve this. I then provided TD with proof that XXXX XXXX could not see the transaction on their end, and therefore could not reverse anything. I was reaching out to TD Bank daily to try and resolve this, as I had become late on my bills, rent, living money, etc. but was told time and time again this was XXXX XXXX XXXX issue. After not receiving any help from either side, I visited a TD branch thinking they may be able to help more hands on. That was not the case. After spending 2-3 hours in the branch every time, nothing was resolved. After continuing to call, TD then informed me that they would be shutting down my account and that I could no longer bank with them.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I was a loyal and respected target card holder until I pulled my credit report at the end of 2020 to find inaccurate information reporting. As according to the FCRA, it is the furnisher 's responsibility to make sure the account is reporting 100 % percent accurate. Since then I have submitted several factual disputes to all the credit bureaus for Target to check the accuracy of their reporting to the CRAs. After submitting a compliant with the CFPB target sent me a letter stating they follow FCRA guidelines as I believe this not to be true. I demand this account be deleted from my credit report as it is in violation of Section 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( C ) because I have disputed this account multiple times and they all of came back accurate which is false. I have pulled inaccurate information directly from my credit report such as the date last active, and date last payment and the accurate is still showing inaccurate and inconsistent information between the CRA 's. I have attached my credit report with highlighted inaccurate and inconsistent information. Also this account is violating 15 USC 1681a ( d ) ( 2 ) ( b ) stating the exclusion of any authorization or approval of a specific extension of credit directly or indirectly by the issuer of a credit card or similar device from the consumer report. This erroneous account has hindered my progression in life and is in violation with the FCRA. I demand this account to be removed from my credit report immediately.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 we applied for a refinance on an investment property. By XXXX of XXXX we were still waiting for the refinance to be processed. On Monday XX/XX/2021 the bank reach out by email and confirm that the loan is clear to close and that someone should reach out to setup and date and time to sign the documents. Also, the email response mentioned that " You will want to both sign your closing disclosure in the E-Portal once it is uploaded. '' This document was never made available on their portal so we did reach out and asked how much money do we need to have available at closing. The response was they the did know exactly what was the mortgage payoff amount and " the processor advised they need to do a final soft pull to finalize your loan on your credit ''. I should mention that at this point in time this was the 3rd or 4th time when the bank had to run a credit check since XX/XX/2021. The bank was not able to provide a clear explanation about the documentation necessary and what was missing or not although the payoff amount statement was provided twice. The closing was canceled and at this point we have no clear reason why is that.
