Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: TD Bank stole over {$14000.00} of my personal money in XX/XX/2023. I had XXXX checking accounts and XXXX savings account. I created a new checking account ( # XXXX ) and transferred the money from the first checking ( # XXXX ) into there, then used # XXXX for incoming customer payments for big constructions jobs. # XXXX was emptied out almost right away and used for the services we were paid for, but the money in # XXXX and my savings were mine previously and have been accruing for years, long before I started taking wires. The bank LIED and said I withdrew money that wasn't mine, and took the remaining from my account and closed everything. When I ask them for old statements, the fraud department says they can't tell me anything over the phone and I have to go into the location. When I go to the location, they say my account is blocked/closed by fraud and I will have to call them for any information because they apparently can't see anything. I was working for a construction company and XXXX of my duties was to take payments from our clients. I was working on setting up a business account for my boss, but it was taking longer than expected. Since these are large sums of money, it would be too difficult to create a new account and have wires come to that so I agreed to use my own since I had a long standing relationship with TD. TD Bank LIED that there was an unauthorized payment that came in, even though it took a couple days for them to clear the money and we had to wait. I got that money out and we started service, but then TD bank STOLE MY PERSONAL MONEY and claimed it's because they already gave me the unauthorized cash. When I call the fraud department, they say they can't even give me previous statements unless I go to a TD location. I drive an hour and a half to get to one and I'm told they can't see anything and I have to call fraud. The fact that they can't even give me my statements, and every rep I've spoken to in MULTIPLE locations in MD, including high-level managers, have been extremely disrespectful and giving me run-arounds is proof to me that they are well aware they screwed up. This was not a scam, the bank didn't lose ANYTHING, I spoke to the person that LITERALLY MADE THE TRANSFER into my account and they say they haven't made any complaints regarding the money, yet TD took it upon themselves to XXXX me. Now there's a fraud alert on my SSN, so of course I got fired due to my company 's policies. I was left with {$0.00} and were it not for my other credit cards I would be homeless. I've already sold almost everything I owned just to make ends meet, my cards are maxed and accruing interest, I can't hold down a job because I had to sell my car when my house nearly got foreclosed and I can't afford regular transportation. Lawyers won't help because they're an international company and the amount they stole is too small to fight. This is for over {$14000.00}, it was my entire life savings, I had all of my money with TD because they were the most helpful up until this point. All I want is my money back from TD before I lose the last of everything. I don't even want an apology or for their reputation to be ruined, but since they are now not even logging in their system when I make a call and are continuing to be abrasive, not to mention REFUSING to even give me my last couple statements of the accounts closed, I have no choice. I've already told them they're going to be reported but the person who took my call just laughed and hung up. The money they took wasn't even part of the transfer that was made that they claim is fraud, they took the money that was sitting in the account for years long before this transfer happened. They know very well that it was my personal money, that there is NO scam committed at any point, but they do not care and have gone above and beyond to make that very clear to me. Please help me. I've run out of options. I no longer qualify for a loan, it took me weeks to find a bank that will even let me open a checking account with them to get direct deposits from a new job thanks to the FRAUD ALERT they put on my SSN, and worst of all my ailing mother is dependent on me so I can't afford to lose anything more.

Consumer Complaint: A few months ago I had filed a complaint against the business with the OCC, Federal Reserve, and Department of Banking and Insurance, and all three agencies tried to reroute me to one of the others, claiming they can not handle my complaint. I thought I had filed a complaint with the CFPB after that, but it looks like I never filed it. Please see below the letter I had faxed to TD Credit Card Services back in XXXX after they had denied and mishandled my dispute, with no response from them Claim ID : XXXX It was stated to an agent the second time around that I did not notice the merchant charged me twice until shortly before I disputed the charge, which was why I just recently disputed it One, you accept disputes for more than 60 days for other reasons, so not sure why this one would be any different. Two, the agent never told me I only had 60 days to dispute the charge, hence how it was able to be disputed. I wouldve never wasted my time filing the dispute and getting my other bank statement and faxing your department if I was told it couldnt be disputed anymore. Three, if youre not going to credit my account because it wasnt disputed in 60 days, then why would you send me a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX requesting Attempts to Resolve?? All of that, just to turn around and say youre denying my dispute because it wasnt filed within XXXX days?? Thats preposterous. At this point if you do not credit my account, I will be filing a complaint with the CFPB and the Department of Banking and XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2023

Consumer Complaint: so I made a purchase that I authorized in XXXX of this year. It was for a blocker app for my phone. However, after a few months, the app stopped working and then I found out the app was not updated since XXXX of last year. I contacted the developer in XXXX he beats around the bush and pretends not to know what a refund is. I have seen app developers make apps to make money off of them and not maintain them. So I decided to contact TD Bank Credit Card Services. It has been one big pain in the XXXX. I told them what happened so they opened a dispute a few weeks later they denied me. So I went back to TD Bank 's local branch with an absolutely outrageous letter that I had to write. Included a screenshot of the app and last updated version. I get denied again. I asked for information on how they make their decisions they never sent it to me. Their only argument was that I authorized it. Well, my argument back at TD Bank is this. They are stating if someone steals my card and pretends to be me and authorizes it I will be held accountable for the purchases. I just want my XXXX dollars back because the app is broken and the app developer has been a creep. Anytime I ever had any issues with stuff not working when I paid with XXXX card I might get a lecture but never this much of a run around like I have with TD Bank Credit Card service. This company should be looked into for their terrible practices and using snail mail to deliver notices is unacceptable because I had multiple letters crossed in the mail.
