Consumer Complaint: I constantly receive mysterious calls where no one speaks and all I hear is a beeping sound. Strangely, no voicemail is left if I don't answer. I never gave them permission to contact my cellphone, which goes against the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ( TCPA ). This act specifically prohibits automated collection calls to cell phones, especially when I have already requested them to stop calling on numerous occasions and even spoken to their managers. Despite my multiple cease and desist requests, they continue to persistently call me and harass me.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to dispute the accuracy of information on my credit report concerning an account held by Portfolio Recovery Associates. After a thorough review, I have identified discrepancies and inaccurate information in the reporting, and I kindly request the verification and correction of all incorrect information or the removal of this account from my credit report. The inaccurate information on my credit report is in violation of consumer protection laws outlined by the CFPB. Specifically, I believe the following regulations are being violated : 1. **Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) : ** - Section 611 ( a ) : The inaccurate reporting is a violation of my rights under the FCRA , which requires consumer reporting agencies to provide accurate and complete information. 2. **Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) : ** - Section 807 ( 1 ) : The inaccurate reporting may constitute unfair or unconscionable means to collect a debt under the FDCPA. 3. **Consumer Financial Protection Act ( CFPA ) : ** - Section 1036 ( a ) ( 1 ) : The inaccurate reporting may constitute an unfair, deceptive, or abusive act or practice in violation of the CFPA. I have identified the following inaccuracies and discrepancies in the reporting : 1. As of XX/XX/XXXX, Portfolio Recovery Associates has inaccurately reported the " date of last activity '' to my credit bureaus with 3 separate reports dates of XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX. 4. Consumer Complaint: On I received a letter dated XX/XX/2024 from Portfolio Recovery over a month after the letter I wrote to them asking them to : 1 ) verify the debt they claim I owed them of the 3 accounts they reported on my credit report, 2 ) prove that they own this debt, because I have never done business with them, 3 ) disclose the amount they purchased the 3 accounts for, and 4 ) if they can not then please close the collections and remove them from my credit report. They sent me copies of a one ( 1 ) debt that is not from them, and an amount that is not what they are reporting on my credit report.

Their comment was, they had the last four digits of my social security number, But they still haven't provided my signature any payments on the account. This still doesn't prove that this is my debt! When I took out the debt XXXX, it was for {$500.00}, and I did make all payments. I still feel I PIF! They have not provided proof of debt nor proof that they can collect on debt! Anyone can get the last 4 digits of my social security number and claim I owe a debt!

Consumer Complaint: This Company is trying to collect on bills from a doctor that wrote off these bills. I do not owe anything to this Company. They call using other peoples personal numbers to disguise their identity, and they call at odd hours and on Weekends. I have told them to stop calling me, but they keep harassing me. Also, the Dr office did not go through my insurance company to negotiate the billing, I have Medicare and it wasnt used for the large billing.
