Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: 1. On XX/XX/XXXX I was assessed a XXXX overdraft fee on one of my PNC accounts. 2. I had 100.00 on one of the other accounts to cover any transactions, plus based on my budget and expenses, I knew those XXXX would cover anything coming. I am enrolled on overdraft protection. 3. When I called PNC to ask as to why I was charged that fee, I was told that it was because balance on the account was XXXX. When I told representative about the account with the XXXX, she told me such account was not part of the overdraft protection. 4. Back in XX/XX/XXXX, a PNC employee by the name of XXXX XXXX assisted me with an issue and he opened a checkings account for me ; I'd asked him to ensure all of my 3 accounts were connected and part of the overdraft protection. At any point during such conversation did he told me that would have not been possible.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage

Consumer Complaint: For our loan, we set a date of XX/XX/XXXX. Our selected lendor ( PNC Bank ) stated, " it will be tight, but we can do it. '' The process proceeded normally, and we were thinking that we were all set to close. My husband made travel arrangements so that he would be there for the closing. My husband was very diligent in asking if there was any information lacking 2 weeks prior to closing. Nothing was stated. On XX/XX/XXXX, my husband again sent an email asking if there was anything else that was needed for the closing. The processor sent back an email stating that he was in the file, and he would let us know. We heard nothing back. You can imagine our surprise when late in the afternoon on Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, our loan officer calls us to let us know that we can not close on XX/XX/XXXX. We were in complete shock. Now, our whole weekend was upset because we had to make different arrangements. My husband would not be available to be at the closing, now pushed back to XX/XX/XXXX. We would need to get a power of attorney. The utilities and other companies would have to be called to move the date back. We were buying a farm, and animals and such would have to make different arrangements for. It was a complete mess. The officer and processor wanted to put the blame on the underwriter, however, they should have been calling and pushing to get the clear to close.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a very difficult time with XXXX XXXX. I am elderly living on a fixed income. With my family income, I can afford my mortgage. SinceXX/XX/XXXX, I have been trying to get a modification with PNC. Their system is very dysfunctional and slow. It can take days or weeks to get a simple answer from them regarding the modification. We have been in underrating since XXXX with 2 update requests. We have asked PNC to place the foreclosure on pause while we go through our review. On the last request from PNC, we had to get an updated profit and loss from an accountant. Which is a 3rd party and not quick. We sent documents needed a few hours late and PNC is now kicking our file out of the review. It took 4 days for XXXX our representative to even tell us this. Now we have to file a possible bankruptcy all because PNC is a predatory lender, and the representative has done everything possible to backdoor our file into foreclosure.

Consumer Complaint: Reference previously filed complaints : XXXX XXXX Bank refuses to acknowledge the nature of the complaint : PNC can not account for location of IRA CD originally issued XX/XX/1985. Instead PNC references two other savings accounts which have nothing to do with this issue. THIS INVOLVES AN IRA CD ACCOUNT ONLY The original bank was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. PNC took over the bank. PNC never followed through on the original contract. Per research with other banks it has been verified that the rules for retirement accounts are different than usual savings accounts. PNC uses the excuse they have no record of the account. I have the original contract in my possession. Since this is an IRA account PNC has additional rules to justify disbursement this type of account. Please note per the contract it automatically renews every three years if the institution does not hear from the depositor. My name at the time of the original contract : XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I am over a 30yr customer of PNC Bank. I originally opened a PNC bank account in approx XXXX on XXXX XXXX in XXXX and have maintained several savings and checking accounts and loans with PNC since then. The week of XX/XX/XXXX, I went into my PNC branch in XXXX XXXX and requested to speak with someone regarding a short term bridge loan of sort. Since, I have a home closing scheduled in XXXX that will provide me with over {$900000.00} in liquidity in late XXXX. This because I had a chance to purchase and take possession immediately of two XXXX outboard engines that are on back orders for over 9 months. Rather than sell stock ( pay capital gains etc. ), I asked about this financing from PNC. I was told ( errantly ) that I could take out a PNC Visa card with a line of credit of {$12000.00} that would be tied to my PNC checking account as overdraft protection. That was perfect since I had {$26000.00} in my account and needed to write a {$30000.00} check for the engines. So I filled out the paperwork for the XXXX with the rep at the bank and was told I was approved. I waited a week until I had to write this check and went out of my way to stop into the bank to make sure the account was set up correctly. I informed them I was writing the {$30000.00} check. They reviewed my account on the computer and said all is good and that this check would clear. I presented the check to XXXX XXXX XXXX and was shock to get a call on XX/XX/XXXX that it bounced. I went back to the branch and they said it was because I hadn't used the new PNC Visa card. The person I wrote the check to was very upset that he bouncing checks cause of my check not clearing. So I took the time and expense to wire him {$20000.00} from my PNC account on XX/XX/XXXX. So I used the card several times that morning and drove 30 miles each way to XXXX XXXX XXXX to give him a new check for the remaining {$10000.00} that the bank again had assured me would clear. On XX/XX/XXXX this check bounced again and the dealer was close to breaking the sale of the engines which would have resulted in me waiting nine months for engines. So I again went back to the branch and 2 reps and the manager didn't understand what was going on and that the check should have been honored. The said write another this time it would work. Instead I asked them to call their PNC credit card service which advised the bank personal and me that the card had a credit limit of {$12000.00} but just {$1000.00} for an overdraft benefit. This left me scrambling to pay this balance so XXXX XXXX XXXX agreed to take the visa card if I paid the {$400.00} bank fee which I did. So in conclusion, several different bank representatives and the branch manager didn't know their product. Most likely pitched it for a commission but worst caused me nearly a week of anxiety, extreme embarrassment literally 12 hours of my time and a slew of FEES. When I requested that they credit my account the very fees their bank charged me from their misinformation and advise they said they could not. To settle this matter, I would respectfully request that my account is recredited the {$72.00} in two returned item fees, {$12.00} return of deposit fee, the wiring of funds fee and the PNC Visa fee of {$400.00} I was charged on the PNC Visa at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX reaccredited to my account. I also would like the New credit card cancelled and any fees associated with the opening of that card recredited. It would be a nice gesture for the bank to credit me something for the time, embarrassment and travel costs of driving over 120 miles trying to straighten out the mess that they caused and perpetuated from their lack of knowledge in their own products which they advise and sold to me for a profit to themselves and the bank. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge that none of the conduct of the employees of the bank had the intent to defraud or deceive and they were very helpful. They were just lacking the proper training on the financial products they were being asked to recommend. Thank You, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX Checking account # XXXX

Consumer Complaint: XXXX debt collection violates FCRA by furnishing outdated account information and misleading the credit reporting agencies which in turn continue to report derogatory consumer information. XXXX falsifies the information to re-age the account to continue to report it as negative while it well passed the seven years a timeframe allowed for such reporting. XXXX failed to validate the account details and fraudulently changing the dates. Specifically, the account in dispute, which was put to collection in XX/XX/XXXX after a short sale ( aka " charge off '' ), continues to appear in credit history NOW, 11 ( eleven!! ) years after as negative and derogatory record despite seven ( 7 ) years allowed by FCRA. In response to consumer 's request for investigation XXXX intentionally failed to properly validate this debt DATES but intentionally furnished CRA with false information about dates of last payment from XX/XX/XXXX to make it appear 'NEW '. Due to such illegal purposeful manipulation this debt renewed and set to disappear from the cred report in XX/XX/XXXX - that is 12 ( twelve ) years from the original collection. Such misleading and fraudulent practices on behalf of XXXX is a direct violation of Fair Consumer Reporting Act. This practice of reporting an outdated negative information must be promptly investigated and stopped immediately.

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: I have been wrongfully charged overdraft fees from PNC Bank, and this is not the first time. I enclosed my latest checking account statement ( dated XX/XX/XXXX ) and numbered each line to help explain my complaint. Line : 1 & 2 -Two overdraft fees already posted for XX/XX/XXXX. ( Not Pending ). Balance before this debit {$520.00}. Line : 6 - Debit for {$22.00} dated XX/XX/XXXX. Deducted last instead of the debits occuring on XX/XX/XXXX. Line : 3, 4, & 5 - These three XX/XX/XXXX debits ( still pending XXXX should have been deducted from my account after the XX/XX/XXXX debit allowing for only one NSF fee. Calling PNC Bank was a waste of time. I explained the situation, however, I did not receive a legit answer or refund of my NSF for their mistake. This bank seems to look for reasons to charge these fees.

Consumer Complaint: I have had continuous issues with PNC over the past year on this short sale. One episode if erratic behavior and requests after another. I am being told they will not allow an extension on the approval because they only allow up to 60 days to close. Reference a past approve issued in XX/XX/XXXX. We could not proceed with closing until the approval was revised to include the payment toward the UCC lien. Which that approval was issued on XX/XX/XXXX, this was not an extension but a complete corrected new approval. I even had to RESUBMIT the complete packet and it was reviewed for a month and then reapproved to include the UCC lien and issued on XX/XX/XXXX. We were then able to proceed with closing at that time, with that said we are only in a little over 30 days and extending to the end of XX/XX/XXXX with be under the 60 days you are referenced to. There isn't any reason why they shouldn't issue an extension on the approval until XX/XX/XXXX as that is within their 60 day to close policy. There is a foreclosure set for XX/XX/XXXX that It feels like PNC is jeopardizing the file to pursue.
