Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I began a mortgage application approximately XX/XX/2020. I submitted all paper work approximately XX/XX/XXXX. Over the next few weeks I had phone calls and emails with my loan officer saying my documents were all good and my loan was going through the system. We had a conversation that my rate was locked, my loan was in underwriting. All was good. THEN, XXXX XXXX contacted me XX/XX/XXXX ( SHOULD be closing any day ) and said he was ready to " start " my loan application saying I had not previously actually done an application and if all goes we could possibly close in 30 to 45 days. I of course panicked at the thought of being homeless. What would I do? I got the money to complete the purchase from my XXXX and the sell of then current home. Repairs and upgrades needed in the new home would not be done. I have a leaking basement, badly need insulation in the floors as well as incomplete floors. I'm afraid if I can't finish the flooring it will damage what work we have done. I have over an 800 credit score, and my debt ratio is well within the means of the loan I was obtaining NMLS # XXXX XXXX XXXX has impacted me negatively

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Account opened as a result of fraud
Consumer Complaint: I have never had any business with PNC Bank. I received notices that at least 3 new accounts were opened in my name. The customer service telephone numbers provided to report fraud were worthless because hold times were interminable. Finally, I visited a local PNC branch and the manager was somewhat helpful in reporting the fraud. I requested information about what private information of mine PNC had fraudulently obtained and presumably still had archived. In response, all I received was a bunch of perfunctory account closing reports with condescending correspondence about how PNC was pleased to help me solve MY problem. I had no problem! PNC had a problem in that they had established policies that made it easy for perpetrators to open fraudulent accounts even though it would be easy to institute anti-fraud safeguards. Instead, they opt for expediency, presumably to facilitate higher profits. This creates innocent victims of fraud.
