Consumer Complaint: I requested covid-19 assistance from my mortgage company since I am a XXXX XXXX and was experiencing a significant reduction of hours. I am now on a 3 month unpaid leave. They were able to give me a 3 month forbearance. However, 2 days after they reported to the credit bureau I was notified that my score had decreased by over 70 points. I requested a copy of my credit report and while my payment status was reported as current, I had a negative remark of FOR indicating forbearance. This was the only change on my report. I notified my mortgage company since the Cares Act specifies there should be no negative impact to credit scores resulting from utilizing these provisions intended to help those impacted. I have not had any response from them thus far.

Consumer Complaint: Ocwen Mortgage company took over my mortgage approximately XXXX to the best of my memory, and I did not know who they were or anything about them. I had no choice in this matter and did not seek another mortgage company, they picked my mortgage to exploit for profit. As it turns out I discovered they are merely a collections agency that got into the mortgage business during the XXXX housing crises. They are a nonlending mortgage company that finds people that have had mortgage payment problems and then exploit this by raising the mortgage payments without explanation or remorse to force the sale or foreclosure of the house. They have raised my mortgage payments on a 30 year fixed rate loan ignoring requests for an explanation for the increases in my payments. I was forced to hire a lawyer in XXXX trying to deal with this company and forced into bankruptcy only because of them and trying to not lose everything I have worked for my entire life. In approx XXXX XXXX they had raised my mortgage by over {$800.00} from the original payment amount and there was no way I could pay it I sought help from them still not knowing they were merely predators seeking profit. I was instructed by their representative XXXX XXXX to get 3 house payments behind allowing them to do a mortgage reconstruction dropping my interest rate and house payment. This was a tactic that when I was behind 3 payments I would not be able to refinance with another mortgage company and would literally be locked into a mortgage reconstruction with them. I did as i was told got 3 payments behind and began the mortgage reconstruction making my 3 trial payments of {$1100.00}. They sent me te paperwork to sign and my principle had gone from {$210000.00} to {$220000.00}. When I inquired and asked for a written explanation for this {$13000.00} they refused and would not explain it and told me to just sign and send the contract. I refused without seeing a written explanation. I tried to make the fourth payment and Ocwen refused my payment and within 5 days sent me foreclosure papers. It has been a legal battle ever since then costing me money without seeing any relief. Ocwen is well known to CFPB as they were shut down from obtaining new mortgages for the doing to others as they have done to me. Unfortunately, they see the CFPB as a toothless tiger and have merged with another company PHH Mortgage and continue to operate using the same tactics as always. I am now doing battle with PHH Mortgage and my lawyer that admits I was forced into bankruptcy only because of Ocwen has done nothing for me yet has had me send money to the mortgage company that has done nothing to help my situation. In effect it has ruined me, a XXXX veteran that is a XXXX and I am going to be forced out of my house with nothing. Ocwen/PHH Mortgage are destroying the lives of people every day and disregard every government agency that slaps them on the wrist.

Consumer Complaint: When Covid-19 hit, we were unsure if payments would be made on our home mortgage, I called them and they graciously extended 90 days due to the crisis - called forbearance- noting that full payment must be made for the three months plus the month coming, which I agreed would be fine. I recently checked my credit score and noted that the forbearance was reported and it dropped my credit score by 30 points. This is cruel and unusual punishment for a person who has NEVER missed a payment, EVER. Plus, we had decided to go ahead and bring our account current by making two payments on XX/XX/XXXX, and today, I received a call from the mortgage company wanting to know what we were going to do XX/XX/XXXX. I'm upset on two fronts that calls were made in an attempt to collect a debt that was already paid current - plus, taking a credit report hit that was totally undeserved since the entire country is in a crisis ... ... .just thinking that these actions were not only uncalled for but very unfair to my personal credit and I would like to have satisfaction on this complaint by way of punitive measures against PHH or XXXX, whichever is claiming ownership at this time - maybe even a monetary penalty as well. Needless to say, I will be looking to refi with a different company asap. I own and operate a XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and my personal credit drives many decisions that our vendors make regarding extending credit to my XXXX - this negatively impacts not only me, but my XXXX and it's 10 employees. The ripple effect is very strong in my eyes, and this action damaged myself and my XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to get an update on the loan modification review for several months now and the bank just keeps playing games. I even have a counselor ( XXXX XXXX ) who is helping me try to save my home but they continue to play games with me. I don't know what else to because I am about to lose my home and its because they won't answer my requests and they only want us to talk to one person who is never available. How can you assign one single person to somebody's home and never call anyone back. We also tried to call the foreclosure attorney and left a couple voicemails for him to call us back. No response as well. This just seems like a scam from the lender and I don't know where else to go at this point! I have been complaint only get a run around from PHH.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX my husband and I set up a forbearance plan with PHH Mortgage company. they stated that they would not report during these months to the credit bureaus. Last week, both my husband and I received an alert from the credit agencies that our scores dropped 17 points due to PHH mortgage company reporting that our account with them was in forbearance. A remark in our minds is STILL reporting as it had a huge affect on our scores. They first added the remark, Affected by natural disaster, deleted it and added, account in forbearance. What course of action can we take to make them fix this! XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, VT

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/XXXX, while in the middle of the States lockdown order by Governor XXXX, I was notified on my front door with a foreclosure sale notice. Since then I have been having nightmares regarding the loss of my house where seven living family members reside with me at my home. Additionally, Im a mother of XXXX with XXXX of my daughters being a XXXX XXXX who is in the frontline of the war on Coronavirus. I sincerely believe that the banks irresponsible steps to serve the notice while we, as a nation, are going through COVID-19 crisis should be well disciplined. It is in fact a direct violation of Governors Executive Order to halt all foreclosure and eviction activities. Furthermore, Im in litigation with the lender in XXXX circuit court since XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) and awaiting Appeals Court ruling on my case ; and with the court houses and government agencies being on a reduced staff, the bank is acting opportunistically to foreclose on my home when they in fact know that I can not file any sort of automatic stay with the courts while were in this Coronavirus pandemic. As a US citizen with Homeowners rights, I ask your office to investigate this matter and put a halt to the bullying and harassment actions by the bank ( clearly demonstrating that they are above the law ) and reverse course with their foreclosure action. I also appreciate you providing appropriate resources that I can use to formally file my complaint.
