Issue: Dealing with my lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about my loan
Consumer Complaint: I have reported numerous times that my payment history is not reported correctly on my credit reports. Nelnet has refused to acknowledge they are not reporting according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act of these facts after numerous letters. Nelnet is reporting a 90 day payment on my account but how can there be a 90 day and the previous months states PAID AS AGREED? They sent me a copy of a payment history that is not reflective of this being accurate either. I have requested this false 90 day be removed. I believe Nelnet is using deceptive debt collection practices with there accounting and reporting of my pay history

Consumer Complaint: I have XXXX FFEL Stafford Subsidized Loans in default. Both loans were for {$5500.00} and I owe {$3200.00} on one ( {$88.00} outstanding interest ) and {$3200.00} on the other ( {$100.00} outstanding interest ). I could only find out this information on the federal student loan website. Navient apparently owned both loans at some point, but they show XXXX loan as transferred and XXXX loan as paid by USA Funds. On the federal site, one shows that XXXX has it, but when I login, there is no information and no payment due. The other shows that it 's all still with Navient, but Navient 's website shows it 's not. I moved in 2011 during an economic hardship forbearance, and I never got any more information on repayment. Since then, I 've been trying to track them down, and I STILL ca n't figure out how to repay everything. I need some sort of straightforward information, and when I contacted Navient their response was a form letter telling me options on how to repay loans, but no specific information as to WHO and HOW I repay loans that they show as not being at Navient, even though the federal website says XXXX is at Navient.

Consumer Complaint: I have contacted nelnet multiple times over the span of the last month to request a 30 day payoff statement, with my full name, full account number, and a breakdown of my loans on it. Every time I request this, they say it will take five business days and then I receive nothing. I feel that I am being intentionally stonewalled here as they know I want to take my business elsewhere but they know I ca n't unless I receive the proper documentation.

Consumer Complaint: I have a federal student loan serviced by Nelnet. After I graduated in XX/XX/2010, I was n't making enough money to make my payments. When I called them up, they pushed me into a forbearance. The same thing happened a year later, when I still was n't making enough money - I called up, explained my situation, and they put me in forbearance a second time. Little did I know, there was such a thing as income based repayment. I could have afforded {$50.00} a month, or maybe just paid the interest. In retrospect, I could have saved several thousand dollars in accrued interest if they had just offered me an income based repayment plan instead of forbearance.

Consumer Complaint: I anticipated bill problems a number of years ago due to upcoming surgeries. It was suggested I " default '' on payments and seek forbearance after the surgeries/rehab. I did. I was under the impression it would not negatively affect my credit scores. It did affect my credit history negatively! ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX an the next year XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX ). I attended the University XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: While I was in school, I believe my student loan servicer, NelNet, recommended that I put my account into forbearance. I contacted NelNet to provide the dates when my student loans were in forbearance but I received communication stating they could not provide this information. I need assistance to obtain this information, as I think I was wrongly told to put my account into forbearance when I was in school.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing in concerns about a student loan that was taken out in 2009. I attended XXXX. Before the sign up I was promised that my credits were transferable and they would assist me with job placement. Neither of the promises were honored. I was told they were an accredited college they were not that either. The loan taken out was supposed to pay for me to get my certification. It cost a {$100.00} out of my pocket to become certified. I feel as if I was told all this information just to sign up for the program. I have gone to the location several times, nothing was accomplished. XXXX XXXX were supposed to contact the graduates to verify if they had job placement. No one never called. Until this day I do not have a job within the field of my XXXX XXXX. I had to work odds and ends job just make ends meet. I thought me attending school again with guaranteed job placement would help. Instead, I am stuck with debt and empty promises.

Consumer Complaint: I have recently contacted the schools and the loan servicers in reguards to my student loans. I have received student loans from the schools in an attempt to persue a XXXX career, XXXX is the school which I was going to in the beginning and I was told I no longer qualified so I went to XXXX XXXX College who allowed me to go a semester and discharged me telling me I did n't meet the criteria. I then went to XXXX XXXX College where they told me after a less then a half semester that they were n't able to identify my records from lone star college. Upon starting school at XXXX XXXX College I received a diploma from a school which I was under the impression was an accredited high school which I later found out was not. XXXX XXXX nor any of the other schools verified this information and I feel as though I should have the loans forgiven or discharged since none of them schools verified the information and I was falsely certified your eligibility to receive the loan based on your ability to benefit from its training, and you did not meet the ability to benefit student eligibility requirements. I have since finding out the information contacted the loan servicer since unable to get any assistance from the college with no response to getting this matter resolved., The loans were originally with XXXX XXXX and have since been transferred to Nelnet .
