Consumer Complaint: Loan payments resumed ( due XXXX, {$110.00} on the XXXX XXXX ) I paid the amount due XXXX. I received email confirmation of the payment. I received a notification from nelnet XXXX that I had a past due balance and the payment was never applied and instead started to accrue interest. I sent another payment on XXXX and again got a confirmation email. Again, the payment was not processed or withdrawn from my bank account. My balance now shows past due amount of {$350.00} ( XXXX months of payments not being processed ). I have tried multiple times to contact them by phone ( too long of wait times, multiple HOURS ) and by email. I have not heard a response since the end of XXXX from my email inquiry. Neither Nelnet or the Federal student aid has responded. My credit score is now lower due to the increased balances and " missed '' payments.

Consumer Complaint: My student loans were transferred from Great Lakes to Nelnet in XXXX. Prior to this, I was on REPAYE since XXXX of XXXX. Per Nelnet, I should have been automatically transferred to XXXX program. My payments are very high ( XXXX per month, instead of the {$180.00} or so anticipated on XXXX ) and I reached out to Nelnet. I was told the amount would be fixed. It turned out ( after weeks of no response and no change to my amount due ) that Nelnet had only transferred some of my loans to XXXX and had the rest incorrectly under a standard repayment plan. When I contacted Nelnet, I explained I was ready to pay immediately in XXXX and could afford the smaller payments on XXXX and would like to start immediately. I was put on administrative forbearance and have watched my account climb even while I have made monthly payments. I was told last week by Nelnet that my payments made in XXXX and XXXX would retroactively count for XXXX payments and I would have the interest subsidy applied to my account. I asked them to immediately change my status to repayment as I am ready to repay and have been for months. This week I noticed my forbearance has been extended from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. Please please help fix this. Nelnet has been incredibly inefficient and has been draining my free time.

Consumer Complaint: I signed up on the studentaid.gov website for a lower payment and during this time there is a temporary way of self verifying your income on a document because of new rules to help with student loans. The company Nelnet is not abiding by the current rules which allow that. Also they're charging me a higher interest rate than the zero percent that's stated on my account on the studentaid.gov website. Also they don't answer the phone. I tried calling and was on hold for over an hour and a half and finally gave up. So you can never get anyone on the phone. Instead of allowing the self certification of income they keep mailing me the letter that I've uploaded. I don't work a normal job and have sporadic self employment income so I don't have the verifications they're asking for which is why the education department made the income self certification possible, for situations like mine which Nelnet is not accepting as they should.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted DeptOfEd/NelNet ( Nelnet directly ) and asked them to correct information reporting on XXXX report . Report states I was late in XX/XX/XXXX. However, Nelnet has not been the account holder in XXXX. How can they report a single late payment for XX/XX/XXXX? Additionally - government mandates during XXXX prevented ANY late payments from reporting between XXXX for eligible student loans. My loans were eligible. Account was closed due to transfer. Balance is at {$0.00}

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX & XX/XX/2019, Fedloan reported that I was late on payments during a period where I was under either forbearance or deferment. On my credit report, for the month of XX/XX/2019 it states I was 90 days late ; the following month ( XXXX ) says that I was 120 days late. However, the 3 months leading up to XXXX & XX/XX/2019 have green check marks which means I was not delinquent on my Fedloans during those months and therefore, could have never been 90 days late in XX/XX/2019 or XX/XX/2019. This inaccurate reporting has negatively impacted my credit for the last few years and I need to have it reversed as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I made a request to my service provider, Nelnet, to request a refund for the payments I made during the COVID forbearance. I was told it could take up to 90 days. I had found out I qualify for PSLF and getting the refund prior to XX/XX/XXXX would allow me to consolidate the student loans and apply for an income driven repayment program and one time IDR waiver/adjustment. However, after speaking with Nelnet on XX/XX/XXXX, the service representative informed me that it could take up to a year for them to process the refund, the accounting department has no timeline for when it will be done, and if it is not processed until XXXX, it wouldnt be subject to the one time adjustment and I would have to take that up with the department of education. The amount they owe me is XXXX XXXX Please help.
