Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I have three student loans reporting to my credit report. Two that are settled from XXXX. One that was opened in XXXX. The two that are closed are being reported accurately. The one I opened in XXXX is being reported as opened in XXXX, and is also listing all of my old late payments from the settled loans, from XXXX. This is a NEW loan and should not be reported as such. Currently these late payments are being reported twice, once under the new loan, and another under the old settled out loan. When I spoke to Great Lakes over a month and a half ago, the lady understood what I was saying and notated in my file that she recommended that I dispute the account with the credit bureaus. I did that. Fast forward to now, this information is still showing. Today I called Great Lakes again to follow up and they have zero answers other than to dispute again. The open loan was not opened in XXXX, I was never late on this account, it is being reported as " worst status 120 days late '' and three times 90 days late. I would like this fixed.

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning! How are you doing? I was shocked today when I reviewed my credit report again and found late payments for my student loan accounts. I disputed this account and nothing was sent to me to legally verify the accuracy and legitimacy of this reporting. It continues to report incomplete, inaccurate, and unverifiable information, and therefore, it's impossible that it was investigated and verified as being accurate Hows it possible that youve reported me 90 days late with no late payments prior to that like the 30 and 60 days, and questionable balance still reporting? Also, wasn't XXXX student loan servicer sued for not applying payments to consumers accounts correctly. This is reporting in violation of my rights and honestly, i don't want to waste your time nor mine going back and forth, and I would like this removed from my credit as I was never late the way you're reporting it.

Consumer Complaint: They are increasing the loan overtime without explaining why it is increasing. It is hurting my credit score. It also does does not show the date of last activity. It is inaccurately reporting and they are not in compliance.

Consumer Complaint: I'm a XXXX veteran who applied for the Dept. of Educations ' XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was approved for this discharge of my student loans on XX/XX/2020, with all of the loans set to discharge on XX/XX/2020. It is now XX/XX/XXXX. My loans were serviced through Great Lakes Educational Loan Services Inc, a subsidiary of Nelnet, a contractor with the Dept. of Education. I tried to get in contact with Great Lakes, trying to find a reason as to why my loans were not yet discharged, as they are still on all three credit bureau reports as deferred and current. They were quick to give me the runaround and claim that I needed to talk to Nelnet instead. When contacting Nelnet, I was never able to email a human being, just a standard go to our website response. When on Nelnets ' XXXX page, the discharge date was XX/XX/XXXX, but it was barebones, and only stated that I was approved for the discharge. I was back at square one, with no answers, and the debt affecting my credit negatively.

Consumer Complaint: 1 account with Nelnet ( account for {$8500.00} ) is reporting a late payment in XX/XX/XXXX on my XXXX report, which is not possible because the account was paid in full BEFORE that in XX/XX/XXXX. The late payment reported has the wrong year ( should be XXXX ). This is harming my credit because it appears I was late a whole year more recent than I was. I have disputed multiple times and Nelnet keeps certifying to XXXX it is correct but it is not and it is IMPOSSIBLE if you use logic to review the dates of the account. It is not possible to be late in XXXX if the account was paid off and closed in XXXX - that makes no sense at all. My credit report needs to be updated to a late payment in XX/XX/XXXX instead of XX/XX/XXXX. All of the other Nelnet accounts are reporting this way except 1 ( assuming it is a typo but it is causing me a lot of problems ). I need this fixed.

Consumer Complaint: Right after I graduated in XX/XX/2017 and searching for employment, Hurricane Harvey hit us bad and destroyed our home, injured my father and no income to the family other than Disaster Unemployment. I contacted Nelnet and requested for relief which was provided to me. I was able to find a very low income temporary employment and requested Nelnet for additional payment relief and provided all forms and documents they requested but they kept saying they did not have all the documents until I was able to work with a rep who watched for my email and confirmed receipt of all documents. BUT, In XX/XX/XXXX, Nelnet reported 14 ( THIRTEEN ) late payments to Credit Bureaus. Every time I speak to someone at Nelnet, I get a different representative giving me a different set of information. A few months ago, one representative spoke to his supervisor and told me a request was sent to Credit Bureaus to remove these delinquencies but they have not been removed yet in 3+ months. I If the issue is not resolved within 30 days then I will take this matter over to the Court.
